Wow. We spent £12m and probably £12m more on wages for this part timer. Hes a full timer now though.

He hasn´t completed 90 minutes of top flight football in over two years, and has played in what..4 games this season? I wasn´t exactly keen on him coming here in the first place, but he will get more than one game to prove me wrong though. Did not expect him to do well at all today, but not his fault he was thrown in the deep end by a desperate manager.

EVERYTHING IS BAD FOREVER

None seem to be playing for each other. Pass the ball, relax, lose ball, chase ball, after 20-50 Everton passes get ball, pass ball, relax, lose ball etc etc. Follow up with some intent without the ball to give some passing options! I bet we set up to counter attack with as few touches as possible by relying on Sissoko and Townsend to carry the ball. Everton is not letting us carry the ball so we need to be set up differently in the 2nd half.
-
A poltergeist grabbed his foot as he was about to cross the ball on his first overlapp of the game and fell to the ground.
-
Encouraging that neither Baines, Stones and Deulofeu starting/playing...but....does it matter?
-
Hes already half way there looking like Sibierski.

That is a bit ridiculous to say tbh. So you'd start Colback + Anita ahead of their midfielders? Is Perez better than Coutinho? Come on man, let's not get carried away after beating West Ham 2-1 at home. We've been absolutely dreadful this season and so have they yet they're about a million points ahead of us. I did say starting line up, so nah, I´d start Shelvey and Saivet ahead of their midfielders. Not much between Perez and Coutinho for me, but I prefer Perez as he seems to be more versatile and hard working. Bit mad tbh, Coutinho has established himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the league to be honest. Perez still has an awful lot to learn. I don´t see the big difference, but I admit Coutinho is probably the safest option if you could chose whom you´d like in the team. Both are about the same age, Coutinho has 18 goals in 98 games for Liverpool in the PL, while Ayoze has 12 in 56. I assume Coutinho has quite a few more assists than Perez, but then again, he has also played in a far better team than Perez has.

Based on what I've seen of them this season, the only players I'd have in our starting line-up are Moreno, Skrtel. Im a bit conflicted due to experience vs. potential, but maybe Sakho and Benteke as well. Edit: Sturridge as well, if fit. But he never is.

I really like him, just hope hes not Bramble mkII. Two huge mistakes in the last two games now, while playing really good otherwise.
-
Said it in the match thread, but it was beautiful to watch him. Not necessarily because he was exceptional (besides the 2-0 pass), but he brings something very needed to the team, and his contribution is worth more to the team than any new striker or defender would.
-
It was beautiful to watch Shelvey today. Improves the team more than any defender or striker would.
-
Feels a bit like when we bought Duff, which hampered the developement of N'Zogbia.
-
Hes left footed, right? Can he play as a wide left winger, or can he only play as cut inside shoot and miss right winger?
-
Would like to see something like: ------------------Elliott-------------------- Janmaat - Mbemba - Colo - Dummett Sissoko - Saivet - Shelvey - Thauvin ---------------Winjaldum----------------- ----------------Mitrovic-------------------- Perez as sub to replace either one of Thauvin, Winjaldum or Mitrovic.
-
Didn't know it was being argued other places as well, sorry for that. I'll leave it at this: I think he handled it deliberately, and got punished correctly.
-
“I told him what it was like here, but he wanted to come here anyway" Actively trying to prevent him from signing for us?
-
Wow, ok..! Arm stretched in unnatural position, Mbemba clearly aware that he has mistimed the ball as he is looking at his arm and the Man Utd player to try and block the header (which he manged successfully). It was more arm seeking ball than the other way around. Clear penalty.
-
Haven't read too much on here after the game, but are people actually arguing that Mbembas handball shouldn't have been a penalty?
-
Exactly, only reason for being in the worst team is because relative to his potential he did not perform well last season, but I can bet a lot on that he wasn't one of the worst players in Ligue 1 last season. I think Thauvin should get good run of games on the left before he is judged. One off matches and 5 minutes here and there is never going to help him settle.
-
Give him a rest, and give Thauvin a chance to start the next couple of games.
