He was appreciated when he played well, and criticized when he played poorly. Had a poor start, needed some sorting out by Lascelles, went into beast mode and at the end fell into mediocre mode. All in all served his purpose for us as we did for him. Good luck in the future.

So much for client confidentiality. You'd think a big and renown law firm that specializes in these things would value this a bit higher. Maybe that is a bit naïve on my end, but I'm still skeptical.

He played quite a bit for Palace towards the end of the season at least. Think he might have been out with an injury prior to that.
-
Is that real?

It's entirely possible to feel bad for someone even if they made a mistake.

It’s not as simple as that. What if Ashley gives Rafa a new deal giving him everything he wants then the takeover falls thru? That would be fucking amazing tbh Besides the fact we'd still have Ashley as owner ofc.

He was pointing for the defender to follow the overlap run coming in, and Sane probably aimed towards his arm deliberately (if it doesnt hit the arm, the ball ends up in a dangerous area).

Regardless of new owners we NEED as a minimum, in the following order (assuming Diame and Hayden as a minimum goes): 1. Central midfielder (2 if more than Diame and Hayden leaves) 2. Striker (Rondon) 3. Left wing back 4. Right wing back If we address these we should be targeting 8th-9th place next season and have a more solid foundation to keep improving. General disclaimer, as always: Above only relevant as long as Rafa stays. To hell with the club if he doesn't stay.

I've just heard some nutjob in Arabia has just signed an "mou" with a well renowned research company to breed flying camels. Take it for what its worth.

"mou" money, "mou" problems.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48449380 I guess Samir Nasri didn't do much at West Ham then? I wasn't following how he did. "Free" + massive signing on/agent fees and about 200k per week or probably even more Yes, I'd mentioned agents fees, signing fees, etc for 'free' transfers in an earlier post. I'd assume all 3 of those players won't be able to command anywhere near their current, expiring contract weekly wages due to their injury records. Maybe you have a decent striker for half a season if patch them up as good as possible and combine their appearances. You'd only have to sign one or two squad players to fill when they are injured.

It's true though. It doesn't really determine whether someone is fit nor proper. A so called fit and proper test.

Yeah, it would be almost admirable the job hes doing. On a side note, we will hear from Ashley/Bishop soon. It will either be "I've sold the club because I care about its future," or most likely, "these guys are time wasters." The interest may be genuine. My main concern is that MA/Bishop is using the situation to serve their own agenda since the opportunity has presented itself. I still don't think MA is interested in selling. I won't believe a sale has gone through until I see his highness in a picture on nufc.co.uk holding a nufc scarf over his head confirming the deal is done.

Missed golden opportunity to write that you're frenkie in need of talent and young blood.

Don't worry. Rafa won't be here in July in that scenario.

I love the cross for Rondons diving header. Couldn't have hit it any more perfect. Most times when I read about young players that "play maturely" I always get suspicious that they are most likely just a bit shit. They do the easy things because they can't do the hard stuff (playing safe, playing maturely), while looking tidy and doing some running around (prime example being Cack Jogback, but a more recent example to me at least is Tom Davies at Everton). Longstaff though just has that maturety but also the confidence and ability to do the hard stuff when it makes sense. He's also got a good frame/build for a central midfielder and is more athletic than I first thought. I just can't wait to see him on the field next season.

Still don't buy it until I see it on the official site and SD signs get taken down at St. James'.

3 all the way, to lose like that and have their worst even season man Season 3 that had the one where the mackem cracked his heed open in the fountain at Trafalgar Square just after some lass had taken a dump in it. Proper nose dive into a 30cm deep fountain. They nailed the slapstick comedy genre.

Another 27 years old handsome swiss defender? Yes please!

Wish people would just cool down on shit like this until they see a new owner holding a Newcastle scarf over his head in a picture on nufc.co.uk. Go back some pages and you will see people rightfully listing up reasons why he isn't interested in selling. This happens at the start of every transfer window guys. It's not happening.
-
Meh...won't happen. As always last word is with MA and we know how that goes, if it's even true that there's interest in the club again. More likely the same old rumour right before the transfer window opens. Lots of excitement just for "no comment"

Been updating the Sunderland thread for the most part this evening...wtf is this bullshit then?

Not sure if it was aimed at me but since others quoted it as well... Work isn't an important thing in my eyes, it's just a necessary evil to get the freedom to do other stuff. Working a simple, stable job with set hours and decent pay sounds pretty nice to me. "Find a job you love and you'll never work again" Winston Churchill. Mighty inspirational coming from the prime minister of one of the largest empires of his time. Not everyone has the motivation or capability to put in the work to get the "job that doesn't feel like a job", or the possibility to due to shit going on in their life. I'd probably say the majority of us.
