  1. Thank god Hall is ok. He's going to feel that one the next few days
  2. Helps when the ball seeks him rather than him seeking the ball.
  3. Hall will be hauled off on the 60 minute mark if he continues with this nonsense of trying to make something happen.
  4. What the everliving fuck was that Botman Been so good today too
  5. Bruno has had a lot of time on the ball today, he just doesn't do anything with it until it's too late.
  6. Botman, Thiaw and Joelinton should tag team in the dressing room and rip the team a new one. Bruno diddling with the ball instead of making obvious early passes. Woltemade done well to set up Osula but otherwise losing the ball too much. Murphy went off for a drink after the first 10 minutes and haven't been seen since. Hall ineffective from RB. Can see Burn is playing thanks to his height, but hasn't done much other than being dragged along by Bakwa. Pope popey poping. Tonali a lot of running, little ofa nothinga otherwise.
  7. We look clueless what to do against an established defence here, but so do Forest. Only thing they have is when they manage to isolate Bakwa against Burn on the break.
  8. Looking at Bruno trying to catch the ball Woltemade passed across Forests box earlier this half, I think we can safely say he isn't.
  9. ----------Thiaw - Botman - Burn--------- Murphy------------------------------Hall ----------Bruno-Tonali-Joelinton--------- --------------Osula---Woltemade--------- ? Either way, Woltemade & Hall are starting. Just happy, excited and hopeful that they deliver today.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Depends what you deem early in a WC year. My guess is we won't along with the vast majority of every other top league club.
  11. Woltemades backheel flick against Brigton was pretty tasty. Or the lob against Everton.
  12. Off to Marseille in the summer for Jimenez then?

Look at what's happened to me I can't believe it myself Suddenly I'm up on top of the world It should have been somebody else
  14. Fairly sure we were seriously linked with him in the 00's.
  15. Neither Willock, Murphy nor one of our strikers HAS to go, even if you'd like them to. Schar might extend for another season. Gordon or Tino might stay, maybe even both. We have far less games next season so don't need as big squad as this season. I think you're overreacting to how many players we "need" and definitely overreact to how many players actually will be replaced.
  16. If he's deemed good enough by the coaching team, would it be an uproar if we didn't buy anyone to replace Gordon but rather have Barnes as main LW and promote Park as the back-up? Seen a few highlights of him, and he looks better techically than any of our first team wingers, presses well and has the ability to dribble past opposition players. Or would the optics of not buying be too much for people to handle?
  17. How can they know. Everton is the only club he has moved away from, and Everton looked like an absolutely rotten place to be at back then. I'm fine either way his situation plays out in the summer, but to say we were warned by Everton fans is stretching it. They didn't know then, they don't know now. It's all guesswork sprinkled with a bit of bitterness.
  18. Only if you keep selling the ones who break through. No club is immune to losing their best players unless you're the top 3-4 elite clubs in the world, but we're in a significantly better position than the likes of Brighton and Bournemouth to do it. F.ex, if we were Bournemouth, we might have had to sell one of Semenyo, Zabarnyi, Huijsen or Kerkez, but I'm very confident that one of those out had meant the rest would have been told to stay.
  19. Geremi, Damien Duff, Alan Smith and Nicky Butt says hi.
  20. It's not impossible to improve on Tino and Gordon while spending less than we'd get for them. It's a big risk to take though, even with good scouting, but if good offers were to come for them, it's risks we're almost forced to take if we want to break into the infinite money glitch club.
  21. I don't remember all the finer details, but wasn't early FFP/PSR just a rule that put constraint on wages to turnover ratio? Then the £100m-ish operating loss over a 3 year period thing got implemented more recently. Then the fair market value and associated party transaction stuff got implemented when PIF aquired NUFC to ensure we couldn't compete financially without breaking FFP/PSR.
  22. I have no doubts Howe can bring us CL football again, even without a major overhaul of the squad. It'll be interesting to see if he tries to do it using the same approach that have gotten us CL football in the past, which isn't sustainable in a season with the added european games, or whether he uses the season to fine tune a more sustainable playing style, match and squad management to give us the best chance of getting back to back CL seasons. That is crucial to growing the club, meeting the owners ambition and fans hope. I can live with "traditional" high octane Howe-ball if he shows improvement in squad rotation and match management to keep players fresh. I can live with a more possession based style that doesn't run the players into the ground, but with a more set 11. If he goes Howe-ball with little to no rotations or proactive subs however, while getting us to CL, I would be quite apprehensive giving him the reigns for the following season, even if he kind of have deserved it by getting us there.
