I agree. Joelinton does so much for us. Just yesterday he was covering for Hall at LB when he went on a run that ended up at RW and dropped into CB twice when Thiaw and Botman were pressing high.

We've got nothing to lose now. No need to protect leads anymore, just go for as many goals as possible. A 1-0 lead is as good as a loss. If a player gets tired, sub him. If a player isn't performing, sub him. If we start to lose grip of the game, make changes so the players understands that it's unacceptable to fall into 2 low blocks and give all initiative to the opponents as soon as we go up. Don't fucking wait until the other team has fucked us over before doing the same subs you would have done anyway 10 minutes later. I'm still ride or die with Eddie. It's dissapointing to see that he falls back to the same stuff that annoyed the shit out of me every non-CL season, but he still got the results, and I still think he can do that. I can live with being annoyed with certain aspects of his management style/philosophy. We afford players poor seasons, we should do the same with managers, especially special ones like Eddie.

It's only one game, but I really hope Howe isn't reverting to making minimal changes during a game unless we're behind just because we're back to playing league games only now. I think this game could have gone very different if f.ex at around 60th minute Elanga and Ramsey comes on for Murphy and Miley, and maybe around 70th minute Barnes and Woltemade had come on for Gordon and Osula.

I get that it could be smart with the odd pull to put the opponent off balance/break his rythm, but Botman was holding onto that shirt for like 10 seconds, in a situation where it wasn't necessary at all. Don't have any complaints about the decision.

Think I've concluded on my new Per Ciljan Skjelbredt, so it's debatable how realistic this is, but: We need to sign Jens Hjertø Dahl from Tromsø. 20 years old, towering central midfielder (194cm) with some decent pace and good offensive runs. 4 goals (all headed goals irc) in 2 games so far this season playing for a good possession based team. Played all 30 league games last season from CM position and got 4 goals and 7 assists at 19. Get him before it's too late.

As far as candidates for emergency caretaker goes for Spurs, Hughton is a really good pick. Could be their Glen Roeder back to basics type of manager, and their team is more than good enough if they just get the basics right. They just need to be avoid our mistake, be ruthless and not hire him full time if they finish the season strong.

Feel like Bruno has that body type that will enable him to play at his current level well into his 30's if he wants to. His motivation will probably go before his legs do.

Wouldn't mind if we never heard from PIF ever again as long as they let the people running the club just get on with things and deliver on their early promise of training field and new or expanded stadium. Promises of sporting success are dumb, as you can never guarantee to deliver on those, but they can on infrastructure.

Does anyone have a link to a tactical analysis of the Sunderland game? Curious to see how we were actually set up as I've seen a lot of comments saying Howe set us up the same way he always does, while I felt like we set up quite different. More like a 4-2-3-1 than 4-3-3.
