  1. Geremi, Damien Duff, Alan Smith and Nicky Butt says hi.
  2. It's not impossible to improve on Tino and Gordon while spending less than we'd get for them. It's a big risk to take though, even with good scouting, but if good offers were to come for them, it's risks we're almost forced to take if we want to break into the infinite money glitch club.
  3. I don't remember all the finer details, but wasn't early FFP/PSR just a rule that put constraint on wages to turnover ratio? Then the £100m-ish operating loss over a 3 year period thing got implemented more recently. Then the fair market value and associated party transaction stuff got implemented when PIF aquired NUFC to ensure we couldn't compete financially without breaking FFP/PSR.
  4. I have no doubts Howe can bring us CL football again, even without a major overhaul of the squad. It'll be interesting to see if he tries to do it using the same approach that have gotten us CL football in the past, which isn't sustainable in a season with the added european games, or whether he uses the season to fine tune a more sustainable playing style, match and squad management to give us the best chance of getting back to back CL seasons. That is crucial to growing the club, meeting the owners ambition and fans hope. I can live with "traditional" high octane Howe-ball if he shows improvement in squad rotation and match management to keep players fresh. I can live with a more possession based style that doesn't run the players into the ground, but with a more set 11. If he goes Howe-ball with little to no rotations or proactive subs however, while getting us to CL, I would be quite apprehensive giving him the reigns for the following season, even if he kind of have deserved it by getting us there.
  5. Never under estimate the ability of Spurs spursing themselves, but christ Villa are one of the biggest joy killers of this league. Usually gets results they need, but never the results you want.

    Joelinton

Until we find another player that joins the attack but also busts a gut to get back home to defend when the opposition team counter attacks, he is irreplaceable.
  7. Koo koo land is calling. Dinner is ready, time to go home.

    Nick Pope

If you think that has anything to do with Pope he must be the best GK in the world in your mind.

    Yoane Wissa

"Can casually run after players from time to time" is a hell of a selling point and would make for a great headline on a Michael Owen style brochure for him to secure a move to Turkey in the summer.
  10. His pace, physique and work rate alone is enough to carry him through a PL career. Maybe not a good one unless he improves other aspects of his game, but still PL level.

    Nick Pope

Easily the worst player that have played for us this season. Even discounting his howlers, the amount of pressure his ineptitude brings upon us by gifting the opposing team the ball back far outweighs his occasional "good game" when he makes one decent save the other 19 PL keepers would have made too. Ramsdale should play the remaining games this season, neither should be anywhere near the club after the summer.
  12. Here's what we can do. We lock Wissa and Pope into a cage. Only one is allowed to leave alive. Then we sell the survivor to UFC.
  13. Was an easy save to make. You'd expect any keeper in the top three divisions to make that.
  14. Pope Fantastic work once again. Mr. Cool. Got ice in his veins.
  15. 0.98 vs 0.25 at HT on the page I'm looking at. Their attempts that went off the post and crossbar f,ex will have very low xg regardless of how close they were to be goals.
  16. implying that we've been the only attacking team?
  17. I have 0 subs until 80th+ minute if it stays 2-0 on my bingo card. Edit: and we don't get any injuries or red cards
  18. Aside from the first 10 minutes we've played fairly well. We've also been lucky with Brighton being wasteful and unlucky. This could have been 3-3 if the margins were on the attackers side.
  19. Just spotted what looked like the Pakistani Ron Jeremy in the crowd.
  20. I get it, I do but how many points dropped from winning positions this season? We're more likely to win the longer we manage to keep it 0-0.
  21. It's been questionable for the last two seasons, probably even more. For anyone that was on the fence before the line-up was announced today really shouldn't be swayed by Burn at LB as this is nothing new. I hate it, but it is what is.
  22. Wasn't aware that Brighton were as tall and good on set pieces as Arsenal that we needed another Dan Burn floating LB performance today.
  23. Newcastle alone provides more global exposure for them than the entire Saudi league combined.
