I thought that was his biggest mistake of the game tbh (though the speed was impressive). He was completely shut off when the counter attack started, and didn't start tracking back properly until it was too late. He had the chance to prevent that goal.

I think you're absolutely right that he probably looked a lot better due to the circumstances of West Ham having already keeled over and let us do whatever we wanted until the ball was inside their goal area. But he has to play in order to show what he can do and the performance today hopefully gives him that opportunity.

It's not much of a laughing matter for us I'd say. We paid £5m a little under 2 years ago to release him from his gardening leave, and currently paying his compensation while he does nothing for us.
