Thought Trippier, Schar, Burn, Livramento, Joelinton, Barnes & Tonali all played decent. Pope was decent bar his one very costly mistake. Isak & Murphy were dissapointing bar their goal. Has he really had a chance to show if he has what it takes? Apart from the two mentioned games, which suggests he might be able to perform against better teams, I can't remember him getting anything but a few minutes at the end of games where he's just been able to chase lost causes alone up top when opposition team is controlling the game.

Not only did he stay here to get us promoted, he got us promoted while drilling a side he knew would be limited in the PL into a system that would make us hard to beat and dangerous on the counter against tougher opposition. Had we gone for a more attacking strategy against lesser opponents while in the championship, I'm not sure that group of players would have managed to stay up.

Quansah is 22, so should be starting to get regular game time in his preferred position if he wants to develop. If Van Dijk stays longer at Liverpool I guess there's a good chance he'll seek other opportunities as he'll struggle to get ahead of him and Konate. Whether he's good enough to command a starting spot at RCB for us i don't know. Haven't seen enough of him in that position. He seems to have the pace we've been screaming for in that position at least, and for a CB he seems very good with the ball in his feet. If our people want him, and he wants to come here then I'm all for it.

To be fair, it's fairly simple to manage the work load of a squad when you're only competing domestically. Season we finished 4th without him was very similar to this injury wise. His real value will be proven next season, provided we at the very least qualify for conference league via the play-off.
