  1. Don’t really know what to add. Relieved, excited, a bit torn, thankful, all words that come to mind. Will we finally see the back of MA, of Bruce? What a night!
  2. I’ve been a fan since my father was working over in Newcastle back in the early 90’s. Must have been 1992 or 1993. He bought me a scarf and a hat and after that I was stuck (was pretty easy falling for that team the first few years tbh). Thankfully I’ve lived through the days of KK and Sir Bobby and know what a great club this can be. It’s been a long time since then of course with a few glimpses of dignity sprinkled over a boat load of shit. Sad to see what it’s come to since Ashley took over the reigns but at least I have a memory of what we can and hopefully one day will be again.
  3. Sounds more like a regular weekend at the cottage that.
  4. By jumping face-first into a rock from a cliff? That's a very sound representation of our historical ways I'd say.
  5. Let’s give this a try. BTTS. SOG Benzema 2+, Mount 1+ and Werner 1+ - 9/1
  6. Well, I must be stupid but I can’t for the life of me find a way to pledge from abroad. I’m trying to throw money at this goddammit.
  7. I honestly would forgive Ashley almost everything he’s done (or at least 75% of it) if he pulls the plug on the Brewcie Experiment. My grandad would do a better job than this and he’s been six feet under for 11 years.
  8. It most certainly is. It's outdated and not fit for purpose facilities wise. But, I honestly believe that 98% of footballer look for the money first (not that we're paying enough to lure them here anyways when other clubs are in for them), playing time and style, manager etc. before facilities. Our problem is, we don't have any of it to attract the right calibre of players at the moment. A state of the art training centre wouldn't help much with Ashley/Bruce in command and low-balling clubs and players.
  9. Doesn't that article state the opposite though? " In truth, it is questionable how important facilities are in the grand scheme of things, especially in this day and age. “If you’re moving within the Premier League, you’re not going to be blown away by anybody’s facilities now because Brighton’s training ground is not far off Tottenham’s training ground,” says an agent. “No player is signing for a club based on the stadium or the training ground. You might be impressed by it but you’re signing because the deal is the right deal, it’s a bigger club than the one you’re at, or if you’ve moving down it’s a club that is going to give you an opportunity to play.” "
  10. I signed up tonight as well. The more the merrier. At least a united front is a whole lot better than the individual pissing contests supporters are often drawn to.
  11. Was the "socks blown off" a Freddie Shepherd special or Chris Mort special? Can't remember but feels like a summer transfer window special from a long time ago.
  12. Id still go for something like this. Blast from the past that is. A thing of beauty though.
  13. What’s JV1 limited? Seems like it's a company owned by RB Sports (Reuben Brothers) set up at around the same time as the other companies. Same directors as RB Sports as well. Plus Staveley now.
  14. https://www.wsj.com/articles/saudi-sovereign-wealth-fund-in-talks-to-buy-u-k-soccer-team-newcastle-united-11579950242?redirect=amp#click=https://t.co/iFhbG0cUoL Here we go again. Staveley back in. ?
  15. For all this talk about xG (which I agree is often a good indicator of form) there's one team overperforming even more than us. Hardly see anyone mention it in regards to Liverpool though which I find a bit weird?
  16. I signed up at the introductory price and after looking around a bit it definitely seems worth it. Waugh's articles are a couple of steps above what he did for the Chronicle at first glance. It's just nice with a dedicated sports magazine online without any ads that just works and loads fast and so on. Looking forward to it!
  17. I'd say that the 'different manner' comment relates to how it's communicated. Not through a Whatsapp conversation that is.
  18. It's the same shit every time. Transfer window=Outrage, disappointment and hopelessness. But when it all actually starts I am all giddy and nervous again. I can't seem to stop giving a damn. And hoping. Most managers other than Rafa would probably have changed this though. Love the man! ?
  19. As I said last week. There's absolutely no point in starting Steven Taylor over Lascelles. World-class manager or not that is the wrong choice...
  20. Just because he's a class manager doesn't make him excempt from criticism. Selection today was poor, Taylor over Lascelles which in turn meant Mbemba had to play on the wrong side and Cissé over Mitrovic were the wrong calls IMO. And Sissoko should probably have started at left back after doing well there in his brief spell vs. Sunderland.
  21. I don't disagree. But we've finished the games against both Sunderland and Leicester strong after a few tweaks and subs. There's no denying he's a class manager though.
  22. His starting 11's starting to irk me tbh. This is as bad as anything McClaren's team served up. Has been good with his subs so far though so there's hope if we can hold on until half time.
  23. @skysports_bryan Newcastle manager Alan Pardew understood to be inside Wembley now. Independent Commission deciding punishment today. #nufc Posted half an hour ago.
