  1. I do, but I'm at work and she's at home. This is better than actual work though.
  2. I did a quick calculation of long ball percentages for the Premier League. Doesn't look too bad in isolation. http://i.imgur.com/2Na35XB.png?1 EDIT: Nice spelling error on Southampton there BTW.
  3. Clicked the wrong option. Mid-table mediocrity is my answer, not Pushing for Europe.

Since Villa away on January 29 we have played 19 Premier League games. We have won 8, drawn 3 and lost 8. This gives us a PPG of 1,42 which would equal ≈54 pts per season (38 games) or ≈60 pts per season (42 games). In 21 seasons of Premier League football this would have had us placed anything between 6-10 in the league. In 9 seasons we have bettered this, in 12 seasons we have been below this. (Or 10 seasons if we take out the Championship seasons). So, if anything, Pardew is doing a good job of keeping an average Premier League Club average if you look at the last 19 games. There's certainly a lot of room for improvement, but it's not as bad as its made out to be either. Performance wise on the other hand...

On the point of producing top athletes/players from the North East and from the Academy; How often are the younger age groups training at the Academy? I remember seeing some documents from the Academy a couple of years ago and was baffled as to how little training they were actually doing. Or are they involved with other boys teams as well in the younger ages? With kids sitting at their computers and consoles all day long the spontaneous football is all but dead. Therefore, surely the only way to combat that is to increase "organised" training time?

Gerry Francis is available tbf This is what worries me the most, I saw one report where he said that the club or Kinnear had been in touch. As it currently stands, Pardew is probably our best hope. We've really sunk that low. The Francis link was from the last time JFK was here. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/gerry-francis-ponders-newcastle-offer-956381.html
  15. Who should communicate that then? Rambling Mad Man Kinnear or Mute Ashley?

  19. The protective cast is probably only for the plane ride. To reduce even more swelling due to flying. By keeping the foot in a medical air boot from directly after the game until tomorrow all swelling will be gone. Hopefully this will make him fit for sunday.

  21. I really like Pontus Jansson. He coaches a youth team in his hometown club in his spare time and used to hold a season ticket and now stands among the Malmö fans when he's injured or suspended. Not good enough atm, though. Maybe in a few years time. He used to be a forward and has good technique for being a CB but but he makes a lot of silly mistakes. Never good enough in a million years. This is turning into the Swedish forum. We're not doing ourselves any favours buying Swedes, especially not from Allsvenskan. Daryl Smylie is a starter, that's how bad it is. Smylie has never been a consistent starter in Allsvenskan. He has played the last two seasons in Superettan (Jönköping) FWIW.
  22. It would be nice of Colo to come out and do an interview wouldn't it? To set things straight. After all he's the Captain...

In MA's eyes, some "promising" young manager from the football league that is currently getting paid peanuts in comparison to what we could offer. If we're having a sweep I'm picking Steve Davis from Crewe. Who was that lower league person we were linked with a while back when either Hughton got the heave-ho or before he was officially appointed, someone really random? was it Eddie Howe or someone? Knowing our luck we'd end up with that heedcase Westley. Was some talk about Tisdale as well if I'm not mistaken.
