It's true, like. Routledge was probably our best player in the final 5 months of last season. Seeing what he did to teams like Coventry and Blackpool genuinely had my beaming for days. Not in a long time had I seen an NUFC winger destroy teams like that.

Nobody said he was. He's just more reliable than Krul. As I said a few pages back, we have 2 keepers the wrong side of average.

In his last 2 starts at home he's been just about our best player.

All boils down to opinion. In mine; we wouldn't have conceded 3 goals with Harper there.

I don't particularly have a big problem with Krul staying in, as it happens. I'm just slightly more confident in us keeping clean sheets with Harper there.

If you think Coloccini did anything wrong in expecting Krul to clear that, you're simply watching too much Scottish/Sunday League football.

Got no problem with any of that. But if a goal is conceded through lack of judgement or lack of agility/shot-stopping it doesn't make much difference - it's gone in. Krul's the future and Harper's the past. That's the thing, though. It's usually a lot easier for opponents to exploit instances of poor judgement, as we saw today. Lack of agility will cost us, but only as a last line of defence. Today we gift-wrapped a goal.

Barton is at his absolute best when he can avoid the individual battles in the middle of the park and simply concentrate on receiving the ball and spraying it around.

Routledge is a far better crosser than Jonas.

Making saves is the easy part of goalkeeping, and for the life of me i cannot grasp why folk never seem to acknowledge this. Harper's judgement is better, he's a better distributor and his handling is better. He's not great, or even that good, but he'll do for this season.

I said this to daft lad last week; keeping is about what you should and shouldn't do. Harper has the edge in that respect.

I just wish he was learning from his mistakes on loan somewhere. We can't afford this season to moonlight as a learning curve, especially not for a keeper.

He's 54, and his appearance screams "I put lots of salt on everything." He won't last long enough to buy his own club.

Wouldn't be a problem, as some owner would just be encouraged into giving him another job. Another owner would come in a couple of years down the line and thank him for his hard work and implementation of cutting-edge technology by sacking him 10 games into the season. Everyone's a winner.
