Most important contribution to the season so far has been getting injured against Sheff Utd forcing Gordon to come on and rip them apart. Things can only get better I guess.

I honestly hate to say it but tactically we’re a joke and have been for a lot of the season. We don’t have the slightest clue how to keep the ball and slow down the game when we need to. We played into Chelsea’s hands for the majority of the second half. It’s brainless football devoid of a sustainable plan.

He’s actually a very nice lad with a lovely mum too. I really hope he succeeds wherever he ends up.

Not one Man U fan I know would pick Varane over Schar. And not one of them thinks Rashford is better than Gordon either.

A midfield like that would solve problems and raise new ones. It would also demand massive investment in other areas of the team to compensate. Much rather persist with Tonali.

Casemiro wouldn’t, especially not assuming the other 2 CMs would be Fernandes and our Bruno. He was brilliant for the first half of last season, granted.

I don’t think it’s possible to replace Schar for what he contributes. He’s also younger than Trippier and plays in a position that ages better than RB.

Obviously Willock in for Miley is a massive positive but yes, he was very good first half in particular.

Are we worried about West Ham? If we can’t finish above West Ham I really don’t think we can have any complaints whatsoever about not playing European football.

Good win, solid showing. Midfield still not where we need it to be but far far better with Willock. Dubravka very solid today too.

There’s no chance of Shepherd appointing Rafa or Rafa coming here over Liverpool - in response to your last paragraph. If anything failing to reach the CL would’ve just strengthened their resolve to get him (he had initial talks in April iirc). I know you touch on this but even if we’d beaten Southampton nothing less than a win at Anfield would’ve done. I just can’t see it. And why single out the OG? There was nearly an hour of football left. The bigger moment is Shearer’s penalty miss against Wolves a few days before that which unquestionably cost us 2 points and for various reasons meant Bobby was a sacked man in waiting.

Ewood Park really needs knocking down. I’m all for old school grounds but everything about that place is appalling.

I’m sick of reading garbage like this mind. We finished 11th with Chris Wood up front, Shelvey in midfield, Fraser out wide, Dubravka in goal etc. If we’d finished 11th last season on the back of spending hundreds of millions the manager would’ve been sacked and rightfully so, tbh.

A genuine momentum builder in front of our own fans would be nice.

Not in the league as he’s too integral and depth isn’t there. He must’ve played close to 40 games already this season though and almost every minute too. Could’ve done with a rest tonight. Lovely penalty mind and I was most confident with him as a taker.
