If we can't even attract the likes of Steve McClaren the best we can hope for is relegation, unfortunately. Anything that might break this cycle has got to be a positive.
-
Unfortunately he has to play. I'd rather he played with a far different attitude, though.
-
His recent performances suggest the last thing we should do is leave things as they are.
-
Owen was a cowardly ineffective shit but Coloccini's on a different level, man. He's been at fault for more goals this season than Mike Hooper and Pavel Srnicek combined. Most of which seem to be down to shit judgement or shit effort. Inexcusable. As a bonus we have the ones down to shit athleticism. They're great fun to watch.
-
With Colback it helps that he has something like 4 goals and 5+ assists, mind. With those numbers compounded with the fact he's a fairly tidy and consistent player it's easy for people to perceive effective performances. God knows the rest of the midfielders/wingers don't come near that contribution.

Since winning the Eredivise McClaren's failed at every club he's been at. If that doesn't 'infer incompetence' what does?
-
Pellegrini hasn't spent the last 5 years falling on his arse, though.
-
Why are the last 13 matches the only indication of his managerial capabilities? He won 2 of the last 13, but also won 8 of the previous 13 before that and 7 of the first 13 matches of the season. It is not as though, he is actualy on the pitch, anyway, he only has so much control. Generally, McClaren has a history of being a competent manager. The last time NUFC hired a manager with that description was Keegan more than seven years ago. Baba, the last 13 matches determined an 8th place finish in a pretty hopeless league with one of the best squads in it. I'd take him over Carver in an eyeblink but let's not pretend he should even be on the shortlist.
-
Infinite improvement on what we've got now, unfortunately.
-
They were what, 15th or 16th when he took over? They'll finish top half most likely. They won't attract anyone better than Moyes.
-
Shearer's a fucking spineless twat. As if you'd be frightened of John Carver not employing you down the line.
-
9/5/15, actually.
-
I suspect they're listening to him, personally.
-
Whilst picking up 30 - £40k a week. What would you do??? I'd be amazed if he's on more than £20K. And I wouldn't conduct myself like that for any salary.
-
I can't feel sorry for Williamson while he doesn't have the integrity to do anything but lick the club's backside.
-
Can't imagine one of the greatest players of this generation adored by the whole of Europe would be well-advised to sit in the middle of a restaurant, mind.
-
He meant Colback.
-
As much as I'm not a big fan of McClaren you can't even entertain the idea of grouping them together, man. Carver as a head coach in the PL is like entering Mr Bean into a World's Strongest Man competition.
-
It doesn't help that the MotD Newcastle 'representative' devotes all his 'analysis' to how poor the players are and how much John Carver loves the club. Danny Murphy and Phil fucking Neville are hardly going to break suit.
-
Not if Carver's the alternative we don't.
-
would make very little sense from McClarens pov, take that big a gamble on trying to pull something out of the hat where if it goes wrong in the space of about a month he's not only missed out on the playoffs despite being in the top 6 since september (?) but also relegated newcastle united, thats a massive hit to his reputation which he's trying to rebuild. It's either that or continuing managing Derby. People are talking like he's coaching Real Madrid next season.
-
Yeah that was the home fixture.
-
There's no Shola this year though. There was no Shola then either. The fuck you on about?
-
I think we'll 'fluke' something at QPR (again) and it'll keep us up. Just.
