Nowt wrong with an ego unless it isn't compounded by emotional security and intelligence. The great managers like Ferguson, Mourinho and Ancelotti have that ability to question themselves and admit when they're wrong, even if it seldom occurs. Think it also had a lot to do with Ba wanting to play centrally. A manager worth his salt would have found a way to accommodate both Ba and Cisse centrally without resorting to the tripe that Pardew did. Alright, the wide options were poor so a conventional 4-4-2 was always going to be tough, but hey, why not try it for 7 or 8 games on the bounce (and completely kill Shane Ferguson's confidence by subbing him at half time every week?). I know. Just saying, the Wigan game probably wasn't his only reason.

I completely agree that the organisation is poor, but the deliveries when well-intentioned are also usually poor and we don't have anyone bar Taylor who attacks the ball in the air. The personnel at hand just isn't conducive to scoring from them. That said, you would expect us to get at least 2 or 3 from corners by default. How conducive were Oscar or Suarez to scoring from aerial crosses, yet both managed to do it in the space of 90 mins today. Even our own little Gouffran scored from a clever cross from that brainless moocher Cisse yesterday. Being abnormally tall isn't a massive asset among the top strikers in the game today. Who on earth mentioned being tall? You want us to bring Carroll back for what reasons then?
