Villa have obviously got a lot of history, but I don't know, always found them a bit of a boring club with mostly pretty dispassionate fans - like Fulham but not as bad as them. They'd be low down on clubs I'd want to play for in my imaginary world as a player - like I'd much rather be at say, Leeds, Everton or West Ham. Anyway, Emery is probably a good appointment- can see them pushing for that 'best of the rest' area. Hopefully they've too much to catch up this season, and by the time they're better, we'll hopefully be better again.

I'd pay a subscription for these videos, no better way to practice my Spanish listening than with his smiley face. When he says he just looked for a compañero to hug

All started with his goal at Leeds. Good to see him back as an option.

I suppose because it makes it harder for me to bury my head in the sand when it actually starts influencing the club's approach to things like this.

I'm sure they did it? Or on some similar occasion. I remember the comments section being depressing.

Was pissing myself at Wilson walking off. Love that stuff now it’s us Have to be careful we don’t get too much of a time wasting rep though -

I’d rather there was no VAR at all (Eg hated not knowing if Wilson’s goal counted) but that’s what they were analysing it for and thought it looked like it had touched -

I thought that touched?! Ball looks like it deviates -

I think it’s good those aren’t given but I thought it would be -
What the fuck man mental

I was against the conference but think it was helped a lot already just by having two big clubs in the final this year - Mourinho's Roma v Feyernord. Kept forgetting that was the conference and not the Europa, given the Europa was Rangers v Frankfurt.

I predicted 8th but I'm thinking 7th now. We're so solid. We're going to get some shit draws due to lacking in attack at times, but that's fine for 7th.

'HATE' Bruce Pardew DISLIKE Carver Allardyce APATHY McClaren Dalglish (as Newcastle manager. Fondness overall as a Scotland fan and looking back on him and Shearer together at Blackburn. Also despite his failure, his association with Barca 3-2 and FA Cup final lifts him somewhat) Gullitt Kinnear Souness - massive failure but don't really dislike him for some reason, maybe partly cos I'm a Scotland fan. FONDNESS Roeder REALLY LIKE Rafa Hughton Howe PURE ADORE Bobby Keegan
-
I can't really hate Dalglish cos as shit as his time here was, he clearly wasn't a fraud. The fact he failed so badly here convinced me we're cursed - and I still can't really get my head around why it went so badly wrong (a mix of bad luck and not really knowing how to handle a Keegan time I suspect). Pardew, Souness etc should never have been in the job in the first place.

Maybe cos he seemed to know he was shit? He just cut such a pathetic figure in a way that made me sad rather than angry.

There was a problem with people buying tickets just to get points for Scotland away games, and the issue of getting on the ladder. For a while they'd make you collect the tickets away and if you were caught not collecting them there was some kind of black mark. Then I think they switched to only doing that to a random sample of people. They then changed it so that now you also get loyalty points for home games. As someone mentioned I think the latter part would be good to encourage attendance at cup games. Personally I don't want anything too strict for my own good. I built up over 100 points then moved across the world and passed on my ST to my dad's mate. He doesn't go away often so most his points were gotten by me. When I go back to visit I'll normally use his ticket to go away to a few games. I'd be gutted to get locked out and would feel it's kind of shan, but also understand that's quite a specific situation, and sort of tough shit on me for moving. I do intend to move back to the region within a few years but will be relying on him even then I imagine, since so hard to get a ST again now. As an aside the only time I ever got knocked back for an away ticket before I left was Tranmere in the FAC QF in 2000. Think we only got allocated 700. Obviously massive game, and I'd been to a lot of games, but I was only 10, so only so many I could've been to!

I was born in 89 and I'd never refer to them as 'United' or 'City', and not because I'm being deliberate about it, it's just not natural to me. Same - ManU or ManCity. Growing up ManCity weren't even necessarily the biggest 'city' team, so wouldn't have thought of them when saying it. Seems natural to me people in the region would refer to them as United and City, not outside until recently.

Yeah, didn't think it was too bad - interpreted as being about talent rather than similar players. Maybe gigs but that Brazillian journo that goes on Totally Football Show was saying he really does genuinely love it up with us.
-
Yeah same. Not just a CL club but a proper top one too. Enjoy him while he's here though and even in a year and he's already made a big contribution.

Atmosphere sounds a bit flat today

My disdain for him is about more than the football pitch. He was Ashley’s man through and through. edit: aye what Haydn said

I said 8th at the start of the season. I wobbled a bit after the Bournemouth draw, but now I do think we'll finish 7th. We're pretty decent and 7th does allow for underwhelming home draws and the like, we can strengthen in january and I'm just not sure who I'd bet on to pip us to 7th (before the season I'd have said Leicester). 9th or 10th wouldn't be a disaster, but agree it'd be a little disappointing and impact our ability to keep/attract players like Bruno.

Cheers up Steve Bruce
