  1. It's not a city, doesnt have a proper catherdral Yes it is. That's no longer the definition.
  2. I didn't realise so many were being used. Fantastic that both Newcastle and Sunderland are in.
  3. I don't think he definitely could have stopped it going in, but he could have made it more difficult.
  4. Thought he should have done better for the first goal on Saturday. Didn't react quick enough and make it difficult, should have been trying to smother him.
  5. Sorry, but this is after next season right? I thought we kept this kit next year but just changed the northern rock.
  6. They were typical of many Championship sides I've seen us play tbh, they try to play decent football but are generally ineffective with it. If you knew nothing about the two teams today it would be difficult to pick out the one top of the league. So sloppy. I thought they looked extra crap. I find normally we don't look much better in general than other teams, but we can score and they can't. I thought they looked no threat whatsoever and really didn't envisage them equalising, it's embarrassing that theY did.
  7. They weren't the much better side at all. We were crap, but i thought they were really appalling.
  8. did he not get bought by the board as a replacement for speed, who was also sold by the board? and SBR didnt have a clue about either deal untill the last min? or was that just a rumour? I think the bit about Speed is true, but as far as I know, Bobby signed Butt. We signed Butt, Milner, N'Zogbia and Kluivert that summer.
  9. This will be only my second away game of the season, found it very hard to get to them this season. My other was Notts Forest. It's been so long since I've seen an away win, i was so frustrated after the Forest game. Think my last was 3-1 at Blackburn, Martins x2! (and i have been to quite a lot).
  10. he actually dropped owen for lovenkrand's in the arsenal game iirc We didn't play Arsenal under Shearer. Unless you're talking about Hughton.
  11. Don't know if anyone mentioned/noticed the terrible communication between the linesman and ref in the first half, that resulted in Steven Taylor escaping a red card. I sit in the milburn paddock, towards the Gallowgate, and Steven Taylor went in for a header, looked at the man, and clearly stuck his elbow right into him - blatant red. The linesman flagged for it, and stood is ground for a few seconds but the referee never looked. Eventually he gave up and about 30 seconds later, the ref gave a free kick our way in the same area. Don't know what happened to their walkie talkie things.
  12. I don't think any fans called for his head. People were critical, but to claim he was hounded out is ridiculous. For one, what happened at the Wolves game was with 2 games remaining, with the possibility of finishing 4th, 5th or 6th, that was about the game and certain players, not the position. The last day at Liverpool was very positive.
  13. Ashley, no contest. Followed by Shepherd, but he's way behind. Don't hate Souness of Gullit.
  14. Owen. He's obviously a decent player, and had quite a good goal/game ratio here, but £16mil, £100 000 a week for loads of injuries, culminating in relegation. I loved Duncan Ferguson. And didn't Emre only cost £3.5mil?
  15. I'm sure it was reported Parker didn't want to leave, but Allardyce was determined to ship him out.
  16. I loved Parker when he was here and was sad to see him go. Also was happy to see Barton arrive. Parker put so much effort in and was a good player. Miss him.
  17. This. I'd rather see them challenge France's place than ask to be in as well. The perfect plan for a play-off: Hey, we both want in, so, why don't you cheat, so you'll get in cos you won, and we'll get in out of sympathy. For the record, I'm completely against video technology, and will be proper gutted if it's introduced. bit of an over reaction? I don't think so. I'm not going to abandon football or anything, but I really think it will be very bad for the game.
  18. Pretty much every tune is used by another team. The only one that annoys me is people using Blaydon races, since that is a local song. Still, i'm sure i wouldn't care if it wasn't us. As a Scotland fan, I wouldn't be offended.

  20. What the hell is he even talking about? Is he referring to any actual real-life occurrence?
  21. it was about him looking like a shoe bomber (Richard Reid) though and was as racist as calling Jason Manford a fat Michael Owen. I'd question how many people thought that when they were chanting it. I didn't (not that I chanted it). I suspect it was mainly because he was Egyptian, and they made a thing of the paedo chant too.
  22. The Mido thing definitely happened 2 years ago, but I think papers claimed it happened last year too, when it didn't.
  23. 94/200 Highest one I missed was Paul Scholes, toon players past or present I missed were Butt.
  24. yes, yes, yes! hate it. Don't mind this one so much, as it sounds mint when everyone singing it at an away match No it doesn't, it gets sung nearly every week, home or away, even if we've hardly sung all game. It's embarrassing.
