  1. we worked hard for the entire 90, bollocks to say we stopped playing for the last 20 imo, overall if anyone should have won, it should have been us. We was all over them for long periods in the 2nd half.
  2. Whilst I am one who thinks that we should not be sacking him so early on, he wouldnt do himself any harm by playing players in correct positions, dropping certain underperforming players, playing a formation that suits our squad etc.

    Yes or No?

Because that's exactly what i said wasn't it you muppet. Its not what you said but its showing the same typical Newcastle fan impatience.

    Obafemi Martins

I'm a fan of Martins' and would rather see him in the team than out of it, but I think he has been very poor recently. I can appreciate that he's been playing out of position, but he is struggling with really simple things at the moment like bringing the ball down and passing it. I can't remember the last time he took on an opponent and beat him, he seems to beat himself most of the time lately. I dont think you can really put these simple faults down to him playing out of position. Another thing I've noticed as well is that when he has a bit of time on the ball waiting for an overlapping run, he seems to telegraph what he's going to do to the whole stadium before he does it. He's such an infuriating player, because you know he has so much more to offer.
  5. Quite possibly the most sensible, to the point post I think I've seen on this forum. Couldn't agree more.
  6. Ferdinand on the home Ginola on the burgandy Shearer on the denim
  7. Once he gets one he'll probably end up scoring goals here and there, I'll go with 4 league goals.
  8. I didn't think Bouazza looked anything special.
  9. Its really suprising how many people knock him when 9 out of 10 games he's our biggest threat. He's intelligent enough to use what he has to accomodate the fact that he isnt lightning quick, although he isnt slow. First midfielder on the team sheet for me, he's the only player you can be 90% sure of what your going to get.
  10. Id pick Rozenhal ahead of Taylor, my 1st choice would be Cacapa Faye though.
  11. christ. Alright, I exaggerate, but he's not good enough at the minute. He didnt play great but didnt do anything to really warrant being called poor. I dont have any doubts about him clearing his lines when he should like Titus.
  12. Good performance again from Beye, Cacapa played well as well. Does piss me off the commentators sayin cacapa has been poor so far, he's had one mad 15 minutes and otherwise been very solid.
  13. Would not be bothered to see Owen out if we got Anelka in, would like Arshavin, maybe Ben Haim.

    The first goal

Or our 'keepers have had their achilles heel firmly exposed. As someone else aid yesterday we suffer more than our fair share of 'unstoppable' free kicks/long range shots. Given's postioning is at fault more often than not these days. He comes out too far cause he's a dwarf. A Dwarf? He's over 6 foot aint he? My main concern with Given is the amount of times he comes running out and then gets caught out by someone having a go from range.
  15. I dont think any Arsenal players were particularly bad last night, we were just actually good.
  16. I think that our main problem up front is that while we do have a pretty decent set of strikers, you cant really rely on any of them to perform week in week out. Owen is pretty much always out injured and needs decent service, Viduka looks useless unless he is 100% fit and you just don't really know what you are going to get from Martins, one time he will skin his opponent, the next he will get dispossessed easily. In terms of consistency of performance I think that Smith would be most likely to offer that kind of performance every week because you know what you are going to get from him. His only problem is that he will probably score the least goals out of all of our strikers. He would be a good mainstay in the team if the other striker could make up for his lack of goals; and based on how he played yesterday Owen would have been best suited to him because of the quality of his movement. I actually voted Smith/Martins though because I think that you want a partnership that will last and they are the two that are most likely to stay fit for a decent period of time.
  17. I think he's looked very busy, played some good passes and worked hard. Looks like he's got pretty decent vision in his passing.
  18. Smith, Barton and Milner have had good games, everyone has been determined, unlucky to be losing really.
  19. Oh right, thought he was back for some reason. Stick Taylor in for him then, if he's not available, same as what you said above.
