  1. Aye, mine too. Even if it goes to court we probably won't know that much more - hopefully it won't come to that anyway. in a way but it may be the only way to conclude it. many people will believe keegan regardless while a minority will believe that if keegan doesn't take it to court it is because he has no case. either way it's going to leave a nasty taste. the court route may be better in the long run if ashley plans on staying. Not sure, to be honest I'd be surprised if any legal action was taken by either side. Keegan hasn't denied that he resigned has he? So he wouldn't have much of a case against the club that I can think of. What would he sue them for, or what would they sue him for?

  3. I agree with that, it's beyond doubt that Keegan is a quality manager. The only thing is, will his suspect emotions and volatile character become too much of a risk for another club? And will he even want to go back into management?
  4. Word up. That's what I find so irritating, the way everyone is completely forgetting how we saw the club up to a week ago.
  5. That's completely true, but what you can address (and therefore worth discussing) are economic and social factors like the ones we've mentioned - not genetics.
  6. Two good posts there lads, I couldn't be bothered to come up with anything as reasoned as that! I'm always amazed at the way a correlation is taken to indicate a 'cause and effect' scenario - even the most respectable people and public bodies make that mistake all the time.
  7. If we're doing well things may be more quickly forgotten, but don't forget that any new manager will be working under the restraints that Keegan had to endure. i.e having some of his buys/sales chosen for him, wether he agrees with them or not. Effectively, the manager will pick the team from a squad that has been chosen for him. No matter wether Keegan or anyone else was manager, surely that's an unacceptable situation. nah, i think the new manager will be more than aware of the situation. As its been publicly debated, this is the way more and more teams are going. If a Poyet, a Zico or even worse a Wise becomes manager, they will be aware of the structure and will have to be happy with it to take the job. I'm certain a new manager will have to work with exactly the same system we have in place now. If the owner was prepared to just scrap his idea as easily as that, he would have done so already to keep Keegan.
  8. I can see what you're trying to do, Chris_R, but all you've done there is bring up more unfounded stereotypes and prejudices, which doesn't help much at all. What you say about athletics and swimming etc - what about things like the lack of facilities in poorer areas (thus less black swimmers for example), and the lack of white role models (thus less white sprinters for example). And as for 'Maybe black people are often poorer because they are less intelligent than white people', I don't know where to start.
  9. Sometimes we ask to be treated like emotional, whinging wrecks. I don't think we can say there has been a 'lack of an appointment' in a negative sense yet. They're just still looking for the right man, which is normal.
  10. I care absolutely about the diection of the club - we were going in the wrong one and now things are looking a lot better, the Keegan incident apart so, tell me about the things that are looking better... All in my opinion of course: We aren't in the championship, which we might well have been with the last owner and Allardyce. A thorough review of the club has taken place. We have a management structure in place that will work better with the right man in the hotseat. We are engaged in sensible, sustainable spending. The players we have brought in look good. The squad, although small, is a lot better than last season. Anyway, this thread isn't to debate the endless evils of Mike 'Hitler' Ashley, that's been done to death over the last few days. I just think the rhetoric about the 'heart being ripped out the team' and the vitriol directed towards Ashley is ridiculous. On the theme of the thread, our loyalty is out achilles heal sometimes... we are passionate but not very reasonable at times like this.
  11. I care absolutely about the diection of the club - we were going in the wrong one and now things are looking a lot better, the Keegan incident apart. I wish people would stop saying that anyone who isn't tearing their hair out with rage towards Ashley 'isn't loyal' is a 'sheep' or 'doesn't care about the club'. Self important feckers.
  12. Listen man, fair enough if you think you want to boycott the game or whatever, but it's stupid to say that anyone who disagrees isn't loyal or is a 'sheep' or something equally idiotic. Personally, I think blame should be shared between Keegan and the club, I don't have any problem with Ashley at the moment and so I won't be boycotting anything. Baaa!
  13. I'm not worried at all by that article, I hope nobody would expect him to use the Sports Direct AGM to talk about Newcastle - they're completely separate businesses.
  14. Eh? Because you do think that black people are natural born criminals? I don't understand... In areas such as Tottenham, a lot of ethnic minorities live in poor conditions and have to resort to crime to make a living. I don't think any race are more liable to commit crimes, it's just relative to the area that people live in. In London you get thieving cunts and criminals of all ethnicities, North London areas like this have large populations of blacks living below the poverty line and subsequently there are more black criminals. What he said was an observation in a ''non-PC'' manner. If that's what he was thinking when he said that then I'll let him off, but somehow I don't think it was. And if it was he needed to include a few of the explanations you have!
  15. True, but they have a long history of printing racist articles alongside articles criticising other racists. Just another one of the things that makes them evil.
  16. He was doing the job he was hired to do wasn't he? That just didn't include signing players, and he thought it should. Whether or not he knew that from the start is the only real question.
  17. Oh the irony !!! Tell me about it Think he'll get over it pretty quickly though.
  18. I'm looking forward to seeing Xisco if he gets on against Hull. I don't think the Keegan thing will affect him that much to be honest. Will be nice to actually talk about a game again.
  19. Eh? Because you do think that black people are natural born criminals? I don't understand...
  20. The fact that anyone is reporting Ince as a possible candidate is beyond the realms of farce. I'm as a big a critic of the press as anyone, but this beggars belief even for me.
  21. It wasn't a hierarchy of Ashley, Llambias, Wise, Jimenez and then Keegan though was it? It was more just a division of responsibility, with a team of equally-senior people taking charge of different aspects of the club.
  22. I'm beginning to think Zico might be the best option, not really sure why though!
  23. Wasn't Freddy's favourite way to communicate not spouting shit to whatever tabloid reporter happened to have a tape recorder under the table? I can do without that kind of communication to be honest. Seriously though, I don't remember thinking, 'wow, these guys are so great at communicating with the fans'. The only time I have thought that in recent times is when Chris Mort came in.
