  1. He was always a decent player, just part of a general meh or depressing era where I couldn’t get attached to any player really (except Ben Arfa). No hard feelings towards him but no real affection either.
  2. I’m going for a mullering for the Ham. Would be great to see that we can just come back from the break and really put someone away. I’m sure that’s what Eddie will be impressing on the players.
  3. Is Tuchel managing us yet?
  4. Covered the most kilometres in the PL this season.
  5. Don’t believe that for a second. Firstly, if Miggy had requested to go we would have let him.
  6. Why on earth would anyone do that? Truly mad idea.
  7. Tonali has to and will start most games and we will be much better for it. The question is just when.
  8. Correlated with better results, along with a lot of other factors.
  9. Might’ve been like the ones at school where they came out the side of a torn net and nobody gave the goal.
  10. Had to listen on the radio but sounded a strong performance. Highlights look immense. Vamos.
  11. Just turning up in the morning for training was pretty inspirational TBH.
  12. He was always going to be class. Like I’ve said before, I couldn’t believe we managed to get him. He was a bit young to be trusted from the get-go, but if we’d waited two years he would’ve been playing for another top club.
  13. I once thought a good strategy for a PL club would be to sign all the best non-internationals. But then I realised if they did well for you they’d get called up anyway
  14. I love the idea that having fibre in food is a negative
  15. Not to push the negative angle but he’s below average among PL midfielders in almost everything and he’s dire on anything related to passing. His movement is decent as you can see by those runs he makes into the channels, even if it rarely results in anything. He’s decent at blocks and OK at tackles. I can’t find stats on running but I don’t see him as particularly fast or athletic, so I doubt his ground coverage is better than Tonali. He does pop up to recover the ball from time to time, but mostly when somebody else has made the meaningful challenge or recovery. He is just a CM though, so not everything can be captured with stats. FWIW I think his ability is probably decent and his intelligence is good. I just don’t see any convincing argument that he’s key to us having a better team.
  16. Had such an East Stand moment at the weekend. First volunteered to move seats because guy and his wife were sitting a couple of rows apart. Then in the new seat I get asked if I have 'Kevin's ticket', which obviously I haven't a clue about and also who cares. So can I move another seat along because a woman and her Dad have tickets one seat apart and they always swap with Kevin. Of course they have a story about how they've been sitting there for 30 years. Then a guy who isn't her Dad comes and says I'm in his seat, but he can't turn his phone on to show me the ticket. He asks where my seat is, of course I have to explain I've already swapped seats twice. So... we go back to the original bloke and his wife who turn out to be in completely the wrong area of the stand - upper instead of paddock. So I have to then climb back up two rows to where I started. Fin. Lesson in life, never be nice to people, especially in the east stand
  17. Also not convinced. It's not worth arguing about like, I accept maybe I don't see his strengths as much as some other people. Ultimately Tonali has to be in our best eleven, he's class where Longstaff is 'decent at times'. In the warmup he always looks very good, wouldn't be surprised if he has another level he could access if his mindset and confidence was more solid. Like I've said before though, I like Longstaff as a character and try not to moan too much when he loses the ball. And I'm happy to have him in the squad.
  18. Yeah, ultimately it would be bizarre to prefer him to Tonali. But obviously we need a squad.
  19. BNP Sports? Absolutely mad behaviour.
  20. Ex-servicemen please, we’re British.
  21. Best thing is usually just find a street on google maps. At Man City I just picked a street about a mile away from the ground. Turned out people were just palking on the pavement all around the stadium
  22. Either can work. If we see Guehi as the long term successor to Schar then he’s worth a big fee. Same with another similar player. We cant do that in every position of course, and we would always need cheaper players coming through too. Either way we shouldn’t really judge a signing on whether it’s expensive or cheap - it depends on the purpose of the signing.
  23. Yeah, I can’t see this happening.
