I’m not sure how ‘good’ a national manager can be TBH. It’s a weird kind of job.

I’m sure part of the reason we’re interested is that he’s comfortable out wide. He is a striker though.

Fair enough, but being England manager was seen as impossible job and we were never going to beat anyone. We picked Sam Allardyce FFS.

The England job was more than on-pitch stuff, it was a complete rebuild of a toxic brand and horrific culture. We didn’t just go for the best tactical manager we could find, the job was a different kind of task.

He gets the same thing after every dodgy result. He is who he is, he’s limited but he’s done an amazing job. Whether you think there’s someone else better out there who would take it, that’s another matter. Maybe there is, but international management isn’t all that attractive compared to a big club.

Think he’s already ahead TBH.

He covers ground pretty rapidly IMO, partly because of his long stride.

This just highlights the ridiculousness of the whole thing. We won’t be allowed a sponsorship deal that’s a third of Man City? We appear in the same league, on the same TV channels to the same audience. I would like to see someone make an argument in court as to why 30% of a their sponsorship deal is too much for us. If people like West Ham have sold themselves cheap, that’s their lookout. I don’t see how it could possibly be fair to use that as a yardstick for other clubs.

Watching his brief YouTube scouting, things I notice are: * Improvisation under pressure, including some great passes * Great balance and able to ride challenges * Beats the first tackler a lot of the time * Covers ground very quickly * Looks comfortable on the touchline or central * Looks up and down on finishing, some class ones and some lucky Overall would be very happy to get him in.

I’d have dominated the midfield as well.
