Burnley create this chaos in matches that is quite hard to play against. I was a but disappointed with how badly we kept the ball, but I get why it’s difficult. I’d love to see a bit more possession coming in soon.

Need to be very wary of the free kicks around the box, we conceded a couple against Burnley that are right in Maddison’s area of expertise.

I’m not sure everton was that unwise or always doomed. That’s only if you buy that narrative is more important than ability and practicality. I don’t watch them every week, but you’d think they have to be very careful about sacking him. Where do they go next after two champions league winners? Course I get why fans are unhappy.

I think the trust has more of a role now than ever. They have a club that might actually engage with them. I haven’t a clue what’s been going on, but it seems very unwise to have such a crossover between one group of mates (True Faith) and the leadership of the trust. It has to be neutral and open to the ideas and input of all members. That said, I also don’t actually know what they’re doing that’s wrong at the moment.

It's a really hard league to assess this year, every team outside the top 3 or 4 is very similar quality. Yet they almost all get battered by Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City. It's hard to see if that makes any difference to the points total needed for survival, we will see.

He was also starting to prepare for the PL already... drilling the team in the more cautious approach that would be needed against better teams after promotion.
