I know the club likes putting the nail in most rumours coffins but what if the club believe that any denial would not stop speculation as he is now available and we have wanted him before. I just wish the season was over and we knew where we stood, obviously a season with the rat would be disasterous to most on here me included but if it is going to happen we need to stop living in the clouds.
-
If it meant his removal and a much better manager coming in and with it a change in fortunes (for the better), yes, I'd take it. Wouldn't root for it of course. with this being a dead season I can see why people are saying yea kill the rat off all together but what if looseing doesn't make the lardy one move off him chair to weild the axe and we are stuck with him. I for one would rather not aim for a low prem points score to add to a disappointing season and go off on a high as big as a high as we can hope for ok more like a lil jump. If FFS really wants SA then he will get him regardless of these two last games .
-
well he has to come good for once doesn't he? for the love all god we all hope so.
-
or if he finds his form again then he comes back to us a better player, or they are that impressed that they want to keep him and bang in a 4+ million bid or a swap deal, think positive man!
-
I've spent that long praying we get him that I can see FFS giving Rodent a renewed contract extention and handing him our last 10-15 mill to spend this summer. Or maybe I've just had a really bad day at work.
-
this. I really think its too early to too tell about how well Martins will do, he still needs time to settle, needs time to work in a striking pair week in week out thats the same then we judge. I think Bent is excellent and wish we had of gotten him in the summer but in a way glad we didn't if the reported 14 mill bid didn't work then getting him in the summer for between 8-10 would be champion but don't want to let Martins go. How about letting Owen go the older striker and getting the younger pair working week in week out.

I can't agree - I think the four players I mentioned are living off reputation rather than talent. - Duff had two or three good seasons three years ago - Parker one good season four years ago (and was a diamond amongst dross last year, thanks to our s**** play necessitating a crunching tackler in midfield, his only attribute) - Emre (who I quite like when he's "on") is astonishingly inconsistent, a homer and a soft touch - Dyer is easy on the eye but contributes nothing The same could be said about Speed, Anelka, Djorkaeff and Campo before joining Bolton, a good manager can get the best out of any player on his books. just adding on from that to "have it" as you put it means that there is talent there to get the best from if you were talking about players that have never had it then I think your right no manger will help.

close James but looks like its pool that go through

I know we normally want daft money for anyone we sell, but if his days are numbered and we dont get a change in manager this summer I can see him leaving for 5 mill which when you think all we gave la harve 2 seasons ago was compensation it still is a cracking profit for a player who has so much still to prove How often have we got daft money for players we sell? Jenas, Woodgate...? jenas no matter how we feel about him was a fringe england player when we sold him woodgate although injured has proved to demand a high price, he left here injured went to real and although all he did was be injured and score own goals still manages to sign for boro for 7 million
-
Are people yanking my chain here? Parker's not available to play. may not be a reliable source but that boro page that comments on our games says that parker is 50-50 to play

He did aye. Looked worrying... would possibly mean buying him injured if all this were true I would be keen to find out how much we recon we would get for charlie boy and how much you recon we would need to buy giles ??

put it this way we have not had much to shout about this season except the run in the uefa, I for one would say its a good thing to give the team a "pat on the back" when we play well and they deserve being boo'ed when we play poorly. I know what your trying to say when it comes to reacting over the top, but i feel the side need a boost and the way we played followed by the reaction of the fans can only help the side
-
it was the performance more than the result. I for one had us down for a hammering due to the awful performances of late but to keep the title contenders at bay and possibly win shows how much our fans appreciate some good football.
-
yes you right... but no insurance is on 100% replacing the loss. in any kind of way NUFC still suffer. Well every club with international players suffers from time to time. Just because in this case, we're suffering more than others doesn't mean the rules should change retrospectively to suit us. no but we aren't wanting a one off rule just for us the reason we are getting any support at all is because that most teams see the international scene as a chance to raise players profile but one big risk.

i remember seeing the entire spanish under 21 side at the metro centre a few year ago was funny to see them walking and pointing at all the lovely lasses

shola at church dyer in the metro centre signing a few autographs near nando's bowyer in primark in newcastle shearer at the chippy in in chester le street

cause they have tried their best to get him to sign a contract and he wouldnt as he wants to move on. Simple really if he was being let go for no reason, or being sold off then i would join you I think Dan is implying he is a mercenary b****** basically, aye. He should fit right in. so every player who doesnt stick by the club his whole carear is a mercenary- I cant be bothered as I'm at work to look into this but how many times has sidwell moved and for what sort of money?

owen -shola shola-owen. Id guess both those partnerships would be pritty much the same nope one is playing on the left and the other on the right and vice versa .... ok its the best i have sinse ive made myself look stupid

Taking Owen into consideration we've bought the wrong striker. I'm assuming that means you think them as a pair would not work? Even though we have not seen them play together? Just like an owen anelka partnership may not have worked, while i feel martins link up play is bad he is still young and to be on his own or with the very slow sibbers I don't feel it is right to be making these big leaps in judgement till we see them both play together till say xmas (that's if we hang on to both of them) I'm guessing Shola and Owen will be a better partnership. parky what i mean is that none of these partnerships that your talking about have been tried and tested. owen -shola owen- martins owen- carroll martins-shola shola-owen. I just dont see why we need look at anelka as a missed signing as he has as many bad things going for him as good. I see the perferred strike partnership again guessing everyone stays and no big trophy striker comes in then it will be owen - martins will it be the next sir les and shearer partnership only time will tell.
-
That is beacause he was substitute in half the games. Due to the emergance of Emile Heskey and Robbie Fowler. That is beacause he was substitute in half the games. Due to the emergance of Emile Heskey and Robbie Fowler. we are still talking about a very young injury free on fire owen and then none drame queen hungry anelka, both players have changed and even if it did on some level work "back in the day" they are like different players now and I still think a partnership may or may not work.
-
season over or not if owen is fit i think FS will want to keep him away from any mins on the pitch as we all know what will happen 20 mins for us = another cap for england, and although you cant keep him in cotton wool i would hope if he was to get injured it would be playing for us than for england

martins is younger new to the league (anelka has had 3 stints in the prem now) and I can only see Anelka's valuation going down where as martins i can see at going up seen as he has not reached his peak. I feel that although martins needs to improve i would rather have him then the stroppy frenchman anyday
