  1. he'll be what, 31 by then though wont he?? perfect SA material then surely
  2. with chelsea's resources they could go out and spend 30 million on a replacement and 10 million on a squad player buying an injury prone none scoring getting on never really made a full season impact player for 5/6 million is just silly business not impossible in the world of football but highly doubtful
  3. At the end of the day being a journalist is about selling papers, it's not really about whether their is any truth in the story. true if we are talking about tabliod speculation but this turd speaks like its gospel and never retracts anything himself its just what he believed and now his sources tell him its not. If there was an element of truth in what he said I think people would not have a dig at him so much
  4. I remember seeing him on a special pimp my ride and he did seem full of himself and his image, would be another person here to be on the payroll and if he didnt work and liverpool and didnt workin over in the french league than comming back over here doesnt seem to look like something to work out. If we really had to go for him I would never want to hear anything about him being on 60,000+ to warm the bench we have enough of those.
  5. perfect yes but never going to happen, I agree with you and can see his appeal in the sense that he can play pritty much across the midfield or in a 4-3-3 role. But he is not in the same league as lampard, I can see him leaving if I'm honest as for us getting rid of dyer I think the likes of portsmouth even spuds possibly but expect no more then 3-4 million, miserable injury record, not a scorer not a creator and not getting any younger, if he was not in our team would we be keen to sign?? I dont think so, get SA to try his best to work out where to use him and when and aim for that.
  6. can see the similarities in cisse with diouf both cost liverpool a small fortune and produced nothing but when it comes to us unless we are really thinking owen or martins or BOTH are going then we dont need him for a 3/4 choice striker, and when you have viduka sitting there waiting to be taken for nowt i know where i would want us to go and it wouldnt be taking cisse off liverpool
  7. only negative i can see about the guy is if 1- he started wanting to play for the national team again 2- he wanted mega high wages 3- he is comming from boro other than that he has been emmence for them sinse xmas. so a player we all slated for being fat and lazy has 4 good months, and sudenly he's the man for us? when did I ever say I wanted him to play for us????? all i said was that he has good qualities to be used as a player incase of injuries I would never class him as a starter for the first team week in week out, we have gaping holes in our squad if we can get an additional striker on the cheap then great and he is one of them you could class as a cheap 3rd striker. With his age in mind I wouldnt see him that bothered about spending time on the bench going out and buying a young hungry player would make him want to play well we already have 3 of those.
  8. with martins or owen playing why would we need two players with massive ammounts of pace, we need some one who can grab a goal and has good awareness and reading of the game all of which he has and he isnt that old in terms of what SA usually goes for so would get 2-3 yrs from him

  10. you can put bellamy in that catagory as well then as that twat will jump shit faster than anybody, never settled sinse he left us and is not good enough to wear the shirt again. as for owen he came out just after his injury and said I'm here to make the fans proud and re pay the debt to them etc etc and the shearer comments maybe the lad is sick to death with people going on about his clause he has to want to activate it to leave and he maybe wants to enjoy his time off rather than be roped into the constant press speculation which every top flight footballer gets.

Not saying I agree or disgree on your defence but going by goals conceded doesn't always tell the whole story. Newcastle have only conceded 6 more then Villa, only 8 teams have conceded less then Newcastle this season. But I can safely say that our back four is absolutely shit, Taylor is the only player out of them fit to wear a Newcastle shirt. I would include solano in that seen as I really don't think he is a full 90 minute player anymore on the wing, also on their day and if nutured properly i think some of the youngens (particularly edgar for me) may come good.
  12. if the speculation is true fergie wants to drop a striker and possibly go out for someone new and alot of press were saying its saha which I can sort of see why, depends what sort of money they are wanting for him, he has been injured alot and cost them was it about 9 million can see them hanging on for 5+ for him if they were to sell and for that price would he be worth a gamble They bought Saha for £12.75M. soz for not being clear I mentioned the 9 million to do with the smith signing

  14. I dont just look at Juventus they were awarded the title and had that stripped and then sent down. different league, a lot more up roar than this and to be fair we arent talking about bribing refs we are talking about playing someone who was not really available and sinse a punishment has already been given and its now the close of season i cant see them now relegating the club
  15. well I think we all agree something further has to be done wether they get a minus to start the season then so be it but the small fine isnt far enough for such a blatant misuse of power
  16. the man u aspect cant be ignored can see them being raided again, also the irish influence could attract players. But can see your point would not suprise me if alot of players do what they did with westham join but put clauses to go for next to nowt if they go down.
  17. I recon its too late to take points off them now and possibly change who goes down, sad I know as this was handled really badly but as was mentioned before if we were one of the clubs affected then I would be calling for their heads
  18. seen as I'm worried about us being able to afford a full restructure the comment from SA about a clean slate suits me better, would like to see him kick some arse and maybe be shown a little more respect, the players were all down following the uefa cup exit and following that alot of them started to play up, which I recon isn't on but at the heart of it we are hoping those who stay will become performers rather than hangers on.
  19. I can see them doing a fulham poor season just scraping though and hoping to do something to change their fortunes the following season (with no idea how to do it)
  20. Shearer thought Souness and Roeder were great appointments. He's thick as mince. Shearer is too close to the club to ever really bad mouth an appointment to the club, like wise with him being a fan as well he would have as much hope as we all did both of them would have come good. I mean he is a good judge of a person (i hope im right due to his comments on owen and I want lil owen stays) and therefore keane is a twat always seems a cocky bastard in a bad way played for Man u and kicked seven sorts of shite out of shearer when they played against eachother and the way he thought he was better than the team when the whole ireland thing kicked off.
  21. the fact i think shearer is a good judge of character and personally as a player couldnt stand the bastard is enough for me. I agree with you I dont think that southgate has what it takes but again I recon we will soon see how it goes next season the true test for any manager comming up is hacking it in the top league and the manager who has only been in a season is second season syndrome.
  22. northeast rivals not had that in a while (for those who dont count boro) so i feel it is important, personally i hope they bomb out with less points than the last time, i still find it so funny how they will always get on the tv for getting the lowest points in premiership history.
  23. good first season top 10 finish and intertoto if possible and a clear out of dead wood over the summer great season uefa cup spot fantastic never going to happen finish = cup final/winning a cup what I try not to think about is how good the league has gotten outside the top 3 I would say even the lower teams on their day can put pay to those you expect to cruise to a win, so I think our finishing depends on how well other teams progress this summer/who is taken over and massively invested in
  24. will take a disasterous season in the prem for them to be bayin for blood to be fair due to what he has done he deserves at least that much chance.
  25. this may be totally off point or raised 100 times before but if we get some obsure signings and turn into a totally continental side with little to no english players in there would you be disappointment? I dont really mind as the league has been going this way for some time but i do feel a little proud that we do manage to field some english or uk players week in week out. Wouldn't be disappointed if they improve the team. We've got some good british players at the club who will be here next season. I think Given, Taylor, Milner, Parker, Butt, Duff and Owen may well stay here. A couple of them haven't performed this season but i think Allardyce can get them playing again. At the end of the day its not the player in the shirt who is the important thing, its the badge. I'd actually we rather signed a few obscure cheap players who improve the team, than pay £8m for an overpriced british player who is no better or not as good in some cases. true which is why i was wary of of mentioning it here many debates have started over the ammount of foreign players in leagues but I do agree with your sentiment we want success and we want it how it happens with or without english players in the side
