I like tickets. Have all mine for football, concerts and anything else since the 70s. Sad maybe but they bring back forgotten memories whenever I look through them.

I was an away season ticket. Think it was targeted at those who went to every (almost every?) game and they were invited to join the scheme or maybe it was based on loyalty points. It started quite early on under Ashley’s ownership. I am sure I opted out for one season due to medical reasons but was allowed back in the next season. It was good not having to remember to apply for tickets as they were automatically sent out. Think there might have been about 500 to start with but I might be wrong about that. Think LFEE is right about it being about locking people in. It was probably also around the time that the club decided to take reduced allocations for every game so they didn’t have to pay for unsold tickets.

The media are always complaining about the lack of opportunities English managers get. Now there is one, they are constantly trying to talk him out of a job. This is as much a learning curve for him as it is with the rest of his management team and also the majority of players. Plus you couldn’t get a harder group. If you want English coaches to become elite coaches then you need to give them time to learn and improve. I have no doubt he will learn from this and be better next time. You have to learn how to play in Europe and that takes time. Champions League football is such a huge jump and maybe it might have been easier to have played in the Europa League first.

Currently lots of metro cancellations.

At least Trippier is there to support him having been banned himself for betting irregularities albeit maybe not quite so serious.

I think that was done by the Fairs Cup Group so it was entirely fan led and didn’t have anything to do with the club except for permission to place it in the current location. Not great but I guess that was all that they could afford.

Well according to the Liverpool Echo, the clause makes it easy for them to buy Bruno now whereas before there was not much they could do when Newcastle said he was not for sale. Having proved they were willing to spend £100m+ on Caicedo and having plenty of money left from last Summer’s transfer business plus the fact they pay higher wages, they are of the opinion if Liverpool still want him they will get him.

Was in the Metrocentre car park and could see it from there.

The only player my Mam (in her 80s) recognises. She calls him smiley. If you asked her about Miggy Almiron, she will say she has never heard of him.

I could not get my season ticket to work at the Villa game. I arrived at least 90 minutes beforehand, was sent to the tent for help who sent me to the box office for a replacement ticket. I ended getting to my seat as the game was kicking off. Since then I have had to use the lift due to health issues and there is no machine to check the tickets just a steward who you show your phone too. No idea if I will still have a problem when I next go through a turnstile.

There is a big car park at the ground. I have always pre-booked when I have gone to watch the Falcons although haven’t been for a couple of years. Would be surprised if it was necessary for a women’s game.

Backpage stopped running last season and a lot of kids used them as I did. It has affected my away travel as I went to almost all away games. I’m older so prefer it when it is not too lairy. Previous experience on Toon Travel back in the day meant that I would spend the entire trip wondering when the person sat next to me was going to be sick all over me. May not have been typical but the experience for me was not good. Don’t know about other buses so now just travel to those that are easier to get to for me who normally travels on my own From the screenshots and videos I have seen, it struck me that the away support was much older than in previous years.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Wallace replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Think the main problem was leaving the stadium. They kept the exit shut for a while after the game which meant fans nearest the exit were getting crushed as people came down from the stands onto the concourse without realising the gate was shut. Fans had been getting increasingly agitated and when they opened the exit, the police lined the immediate exit route which meant it was quite narrow and were lashing out with their batons at any man, woman or child which only increased the tension. -
Not really a fan of recycling songs for different players but the Mitro song really used to get everyone going. Think it would work well for Isak.

Didn’t work for me so I was responsible for queues building up behind me. The stewards tried scanning my phone themselves and they also tried at the next turnstile. I had to go down to the tent for assistance and they said I had probably turned off NFC but I have no idea what they meant and the guy couldn’t/wouldn’t explain so I ended up getting a paper ticket. Had no problem with the friendlies last week.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Struggled with mine. Steward had no idea but another fan behind was able to help. -
Lampard is hyper sensitive to criticism - no way would he cope with the intense scrutiny he would get up here but the national press would protect him.

It was a Fans Group that raised the money for the Joe Harvey plaque.

No idea how much it will take to pay Bruce off but I just don't understand the willingness to stick with a poor manager and sacrificing the potential financial benefits from guaranteeing Premier League football. How much is each place worth these days - £1m+ - plus the additional TV money that we are not going to be getting this season because we are being broadcast less than in previous years and the certainty of any interested buyers walking away when we get relegated (as Ashley probably won't want to lower the sale price). I realise that Ashley won't make a decision until he has no choice (and it is too late) and that he is a gambler but if you are trying to sell the club (and especially to particular buyer who are only interested in a Premier League club), why take that risk? He will lose so much more than the cost of paying Bruce off.

Must be really easy for opposition managers. Newcastle won last week so they know what the team will be so can spend all week on their gameplan. Thought he might have brought Matty Longstaff in - he normally brings him in from the cold against the big teams! Isn't it Arsenal next week? Willock will be missing that one.

Maybe the other 14 Premier League teams should resign from the Premier League and join the EFL leaving the 6 teams to just play each other every season!. To allow 6 teams to earn millions more in a closed league would make the Premier League meaningless anyway. Even if they just used B teams, because of their financial clout, they would probably still be able to afford much better players that most if not all other teams. It is telling that quite a few of these "elite" teams have struggled this year and may miss out on Europe never mind the Champions League. If they want a European League, then they should just leave the Premier League completely but I guess that some of those serial winners don't want to become serial losers.
