About the only people Relegation would be good for is the young players we have playing in the reserves as I imagine a good few of them would come into the first team.

Howay man kicked off big style after getting beat int he FA Cup final, relegation will see hell on, even more so if Ashley does nothign from now until the end of the season to try and stop us going down. Yes but what has that got to do with idiots smashing up Newcastle City Centre? There is no justification for that. If something doesn't go your way at work you don't go home and smash your house up do you?
-
I hope the idiots don't go and smash up the town if we get relegated. I can imagine it raining season ticket cards on the last home game of the season though.
-
You have to wonder why a player who is unpopular with a huge number of his own clubs fans would want to sign a new contract with the club. I can only assume it's because he thought no other club would offer him as good a deal (he was probably right). I imagine Ameobi may well be leading the line for us next season. I'm looking forward to those stories about how he is going to fire us to promotion.

That my friend is apathy. I feel it too, no doubt the moment when we do go down will hit me like a ton of bricks. I know. I've been trying to convince myself all season that i'm not apathetic, but i have barely flinched at any result this season since it was blatantly obvious Kinnear was taking us nowhere. Somewhere around the Mackems loss/Stoke draw. That includes the Liverpool home game, West Brom win, this one. I looked at BBC site, saw the result, shrugged, and went back to work. There's been the odd occassion where we've won where i've been elated, think Spurs was the last genuine one, but i can count on one hand the goals i've properly celebrated this season, as in brought the house down. We're going absolutely f***ing nowhere as things stand and as unpassionate/unsupportive as it may sound, it's probably better for my health that i feel this way. I'm expecting some snidey "f*** off and support someone else, then" comment is on it's way from someone... I know what you mean. Take today for example, I was supporting the team as much as anyone, yet when we went 3-1 down I switched immediately from going mental to just laughing and joking with my mates as if we werent even at the match. It's shocking that it has come to this tbh. Agree with all that. The commentator said something like "It's always a good sign when half time comes as a nuance rather than a relief". I said "Not where Newcastle are concerned. It just means we spurned a load of chances and the other team will come out fired up after a team talk. Arsenal will probably score early and knock the stuffing out of us". When they did score first it was no surprise. As per usual we played well (to a point) against a good team and then lost. Not only that but we may have lost two important players to injury in the process. I expect us to lose these days. Newcastle losing used to ruin my whole day or weekend. Having slept on it my 8 is now a 9. We are in the bottom 3, 2 points behind Blackburn. We are now relying on other teams results.
-
Totally agree. Would we be in the current situation if Ashley had gone out and paid a half decent manager to come (after he couldn't find a buyer for us)? No chance. The injuries to the squad haven't helped but we didn't have enough players last season and don't this season either. The opportunity to do something about that was thrown away through a few transfer windows. The waiting for Kinnear to get better is fucking insane. His record before he got sick was shite so he's not worth hanging around for anyway. Ashley being sentimental and showing faith in people he trusts (Kinnear, Llambias, etc) has fucked us. I can't imagine what shit they're going to come out with to try to get people to come back to St. James' next season.
-
I'm on an 8 still. It's going to a 9 if Bassong and Taylor are out injured for any games. I don't really know the players or teams of the Championship. I have no desire to learn about them either. I'll struggle to bother myself to watch Championship football. Apathy here I come.
-
Dropping Owen to go 4-5-1 doesn't concern me. Playing Smith, Butt and Geremi in that midfield 5 does concern me. They didn't do well against hull (apart from maybe Butt who helped create our goal). That's what I'd do with Martins and Lovenkrands in front of him.
-
We could really do with beating Stoke also. We absolutely must beat the teams below us and those just above us. I can't say I'm confident we'll beat Middlesbrough. We usually draw against them.
-
In four attempts Newcastle United have failed to beat Hull City this season. One of the reasons I have little hope. I'm on an 8 because the teams destiny is still in it's own hands (on goal difference at the moment). If/when we drop into the bottom 3 I will change to a 9. If/when we get out of the bottom 3 I'll change it back to an 8.

Do you want Joe Kinnear to be NUFC manager permanently?

Notice that none of the people who said yes have posted why they said yes. This means they either aren't Newcastle fans, they were joking or they don't have the balls to say why they said yes. -

If by some miracle we do stay up, it would be a body blow for the club to then appoint Joe Kinnear on a long term contract. If we go down and they appoint Joe Kinnear they are just taking the piss. Do they honestly think they couldn't find anyone better? It really annoys me when they say crap like "we trust Joe". Trust him about what? I don't trust him to keep us in the Premiership or get us promotion from the Championship. -
I'm on an 8. We're 4th bottom on the form guide: - http://www.premierleague.com/page/FormGuide We have Arsenal and Chelsea next so we'll probably drop into the bottom 3 of both the form guide and the league table over those games. Every time the team have had a must win game they've either drawn or lost (apart from when we beat the worst team in the league, West Brom 3-2). Newcastle United always throw away their chances. Unless an amazing motivator comes in and instantly kicks the players up the arse so they perform to their potential we're doomed. I can't understand the dropping of Lovenkrands. He has scored 2 goals so that should get him in the team ahead of the non-goal scoring players for me. I'd take Terry Venables now. It has become that desperate.
-
We've won 6 games all season just like West Brom and Middlesbrough. The BBC match report mentions Newcastle "were often let down by desperately poor service to their strikers". We've known the creativity from our midfield has been piss poor for seasons. The club is reaping what it sowed. The media seemed to think Owen would return to save us. Yeah, right.

He is. Hopefully by the end of the game he'll wish he hadn't said it though. -

If our lads aren't up for this one they deserve the Championship and the wages that go with it. That quote from Brown should help us. Print it out and stick it on the dressing room door as motivation. If only other managers would stick the boot into our players before we play their team. -
If Shearer or any other Newcastle player said he'd love to score the goal that sent the Mackems down, you wouldn't have minded a bit...there is no difference, and any fan would expect one of the Mackems to say something on these lines IF they were playing us nearer the end of the season... Completely true but they never do say it. They are too 'professional' to say that. The North East clubs and players always say they want all the clubs in the Premiership, blah, blah. The main reason not to publicly state these opinions is because it fires up the opposition and their crowd. That will be why Man U took down Rooney's comments.

He's not perfect though. He gave away a needless last minute corner against Wigan that lead to them equalising.
