  1. Someday not too far in the future, we may be know for our fullback pairing more than we are for our central midfield three.
  2. At least we don’t have to worry about who our first choice goalkeeper is. We’ll never have the privilege of choosing.
  3. Is there some kind of stat as to whether we're actually conceding more late goals than the norm? I can't imagine we wouldn't be, but curious how bad it is.
  4. You say whatever you need to say to get folks in the door. Once they arrive here maybe they love it and stay forever, who knows.
  5. To be fair if they didn't sign Isak and just played Ekitike up front all season they'd probably have more points too.
  6. Was sort of excited about the World Cup coming to the US this year but all of Korea’s games are in Mexico parts of Mexico that are about as far away as possible from Los Angeles as well.
  7. What exactly did he think was going to happen when he signed there?

    Yoane Wissa

It's become incredibly obvious now that we've been playing the long game with his delayed recovery.
  9. I don't want us to sell them or anything, but just saying that from the perspective of a potential transfer target with no current affiliation to the club, it wouldn't be unreasonable for them to assume that Hall and/or Livramento could get "bigger club" moves at some point and that they'd have a path to becoming first choice.
  10. (whispers) their path into the first team is Livramento/Hall eventually being sold to bigger clubs.
  11. Young players who’ll be looking to play themselves into the first team in a few years. Signing Livramento and Hall again is essentially what we should aim for. Failing that, an older backup who has maybe a season or two of competent football left to give and doesn’t mind being second choice for a CL team.

    Nick Pope

Learning how to kick in training, in controlled, low-pressure situations is easy. If Nick Pope showed up for a kickabout at the local park he’d be hitting fifty yard pinpoint passes like Beckham and would generally look like the best footballer you’ve ever seen. Learning how to kick in in-game conditions is much harder.
  13. Ideally we would rotate between him and Pope depending on opposition, but that's just not how this seems to work when dealing with real human beings and their emotions. Someone needs to be "first choice." That said, I still wouldn't rule out the possibility that he usurps Pope at some point this season. We signed him for a reason. And if you had asked me two months ago, I would have said it's completely unthinkable that Thiaw would be first choice CB by October.
  14. Yeah this seems to be a conscious adjustment. He’s forward a lot more often than he was at the beginning of the season.
  15. I still wouldn’t want to be relying on him for 90 minutes but he has “lovable squad player who’s here for a decade” written all over him.

    Malick Thiaw

Milan will never sell us a player again
  17. He wasn’t bad but the difference between “Tonali” and “not Tonali” is extremely stark.

    Malick Thiaw

He has a fair claim to being our best CB, which is completely bonkers given who the other three first team CBs we employ are.
  19. Very good in this “come on late, run around a lot, and be very annoying for ten minutes” role.
