  1. You mean you didn't see that programme about the cash for nurses and Glenn's poem! Came across as a nice guy, slightly cheesy, but a guy who would get walked all over by the players. Transfer wise - Souness bought expensive wasters and Roeder hardly bought anyone. They both made baffling decisions (Roeder, who was not interested in Onyewu and then announced his signing on deadline day. Souness, £8m for Boumsong and £9.5m for Luque.) Tactically - Don't think they focused much on tactics or when they did f***ed them up. I remember away to Man Utd with a 4-5-1 formation that Arsenal used and an injured striker playing the lone role.

    Players in public

Geremi in Aspers Casino last night.
  3. Kamara says there is no chance Newcastle can get back into the game. Cacapa scored.......but was offside.
  4. Clocks go back on Sunday night. The goal might force Allardyce to make a few changes.
  5. Leicester at the minute. I think its 6 managers in 5 months or vice versa.
  6. ITV picking up on it now with Pleat giving his views on it. He mentioned something about his time there and Arnesen coming in to replace him. When it cut to Jol he looked gutted and Levy looked anxious.
  7. Ameobi hasn't look interested at all. Does anyone in the Newcastle look good enough for the Premiership?
  8. Babayaro off and Lough on. He hasn't done that bad, got a few challenges in and got forward at times.
  9. 61 mins - Mark Bertram off Alex Francis on
  10. I heard Barnett had been at Scunthorpe as well. Huth for Liverpool has done well, as has Spearing. Godsmark looks lively for Newcastle and Edgar has done ok.

Tim Krul ,looking lost in Tiger Tiger, and Nicky Butt as well last night.
  12. Kieron Dyer is in the Sky studio for the West Ham v Sunderland match, says he may be back for March/April. Bellamy and Bowyer start, Solano is on the bench and no Parker.
  13. Marc Walton - Newcastle Blue Star
  14. Spurs (h) - Win Reading (a) - Draw Portsmouth (h) - Draw Mackems (a) - Win 8 points.
  15. Theres a few photos from Romania of N'Zogbia in training. He played the full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw with Romania at left back.
  16. Was doing my level 1 coaching this week and was told that Beardsley was no longer doing any coaching work for Newcastle United. I think he only does PR work (I saw him in town about a week ago doing stuff for BT).
  17. France : Jourdren - Dabo - Bellaïd - Digard - N'Zogbia - Marveaux - Cabaye (cap., puis Chantôme, 75ème) - I. Dia - Ménez (puis Matuidi, 64ème) - Payet - Gouffran (puis Gakpé, 60ème). Suggests he played the full game at left back. Also has him on the team selection page as a defender.

    Shay Given

I think he deserves chances, after all he has spent the best part of 10 years relying on a terrible defence. However, maybe this has some part to play in Given's current form? After having Bramble and Boumsong infront of him, he was called into action at least 5 times a game, often pulling off a terrific save. Now, with a decent backline with experienced continental players, Shay does not have too many saves to make - maybe exposing the current weaklink of our defence?. He can still pull off great saves (Elano in the first half against City and many against Arsenal in the cup) and it could be he has to get over the injuries and get used to an improved backline.

    Newcastle World

What did Geremi say to N'Zogbia to make him stay?
  20. Has anyone seen that Ladbrokes advert with the ex pro's and Kirsty Gallagher? "Newcastle are you kidding?"
  21. Man City are a good side, undefeated at home, and their attacking players had great games today. Elano showed superb vision in opening up our backline and Newcastle really do need a player like him. While defensively having Geremi, Smith and Butt in the centre is an efficient work man like engine there is little creation, barring Geremi's assist today. Something else to note was the lack of forward running from midfield to support the frontmen. Given - 6 Taylor - 5 (Faye - n/a) Rozehnal - 7 Beye - 5 N'Zogbia - 6 Butt - 6 Smith - 5 Geremi - 6 (Enrique - n/a) Martins - 7 Viduka - 6 (Emre - n/a) Milner - 6 Allardyce - 6 - The team started well, although a few players didn't seem to know where they were playing, and the only complaint was the timing of substitutions.
  22. Nearly again. Beye caught in possesion and Elano turned Taylor before Given saved.
