  1. If we get relegated (read: when), it won't be McLaren's fault. It'll be Ashley's. It has taken the best part of 10 years to prove that you can't buy tat and get away with it. If you want quality players, you have to pay quality prices. Problem is, he is stubborn enough to believe the same rule doesn't apply to management. Deserve to go down.
  2. Why we need a striker? We got 1 expensive one on the bench and other expensive already subbed off A dangerous concept called competition, like that of Swansea's.
  3. RB, CB, LB, LW, ST all needed. Otherwise we're just papering the cracks with the 3 signings. But of course, no money...
  4. Not sure if Giggs, but it was 500 shirts that sold out their initial stock.
  5. I do concede though that apathy is easy, especially with some bonehead local journos. Honestly man, you'd think a result like this (after a string of results like this) would encourage some vitriol in people who are employed to write insightfully about a football club. What do we get? One word summaries that mean absolutely bog all. (apologies, I feel dirty just doing that. How can he get paid to do it for a living FFS?)
  6. Like all of us, my blood will always bleed black and white. St James' Park will always be the place my dad took me to my first match, and where I fell in love with the game. However, just as countries declare that 'they do not recognise' another state which has been subject of a coup-d'etat, I do not recognise Newcastle United. It is not a sporting club, but a shop window, where football is of tertiary importance after profit and giving prominence to red and blue livery. If match-going supporters wish to continue paying money and giving support to Sports Direct Balance Sheet Inc, don't expect anything other than cheap imitation fakery of a football club. A Lonsdale trainer. It's about time this disease of apathy translated into action against the person who has stolen our identity. I don't care who is or will be the manager, I don't care who leaves or signs, and I don't care whether we are relegated or 'fight' for 10th place. It's not my football club. Get angry or walk away...the ultimate treason would be apathetic acceptance.
  7. The internal appointment on an interim basis is the most likely, but the more I think of it, there might be something in the idea that Ashley has always had someone to take the flak from the fans. Until he appoints a new manager on a permanent basis, any attention will still be on Ashley, so I still reckon there's a chance a permanent appointment could be made much earlier than the end of the season. Could be just wishful thinking, mind...
  8. "If he wore - at some point - black and white during his career, and spoke with a geordie accent, he'd be adored by Noocastle...but because he's a cockney they don't like him." - some idiot caller Honestly, the IQ level on TalkSport is worryingly low at times.
  9. As if JFK has ever said the word acquisition in his life.
  10. Think it will be a narrow defeat tbh, can't see either team being streets ahead of the other. Easier game for them (sadly) than Chelsea and Liverpool, so can see them wanting to make a point that their win against Arsenal wasn't a fluke. Think our lot will still be deflated from the lack of signings. Going for a 2-1 loss.
  11. Because he can take his loan money back from the club, whilst not investing money into the team that isn't made from transfer revenues. TV money, Premier League money, etc... it's the one thing I genuinely believe Pardew about, we really can't compete with any other club when it comes to transfers, since we have to sell to buy.

    Alan Pardew

Did some rather depressing fact-finding and delving through statistics from our previous results... Last 13 Premier League games: Scored = 7 Conceded = 20 Shots = 141 On target = 60 Average Accuracy = 42.6% Goal Conversion (from on target) = 11.6% Goal Conversion (from all shots) = 5% Probably not that horrendous compared to other teams, but utterly depressing nonetheless. Over 6 hours of football since we last scored a goal at home in the league.
  13. Glad we washed our hands of that greasy b******. He's just never had time to gel
  14. Such poor refereeing, thats about the third or fourth clear free kick he's missed this half
  15. Incontrovertable proof that the liverpool 'fans' can't read and comprehend properly..."there's only one lying ba****rd"? Yeah, try reading the 110+ page document that states how it was your players who tried to deceive. Hate them.
  16. Carrlol up front, de Gea in goal, Scholes starts, no Rooney
  17. Howard Webb in missing off-the-ball foul shocker...
  18. did anyone notice the 'my word'? it seems to be spreading!
