Blackburn vs Newcastle United, 12/2/11, Pre-match thread.
Vinny Green Balls replied to Stifler's topic in Football
Still on a high from my improbable 4-4 prediction, I am going for a surprising 1-2 win. Nolan to bag a brace, and until the next game he will be the toast of the Toon. Then back to everybody hating him. -
What makes Barton more extraordinary for me is that somewhere buried inside him is a total nutjob, and he has managed to suppress it for most of the season. Barton has to battle harder than most people to keep his desire to beat some cunt into hamburger in check. The problem is that the media and FA themselves are complete and total cunts, so they know Barton's aggression vector is pointed directly at them. Barton has a shitty track record. This is true. But so does Rooney. So does Terry. these two fucks represent the rampant excess in sports. That excess is perfectly acceptable, because it manifests in all aspects of our lives, from big business to our own governments. Fuck, man. The excess is one of the memes in the modern world.

A little hyperbole on this thread. When the dust settles, this game is as as likely to be the one that saved our season as the draw with Wigan tbh.

dump it where you take most of your dumps. and no, not in the mouth of a 14 year old Japanese girl.

gotta love him just for saying balls in the interview.

The 1-3 against Arsenal at Highbury in 2001 is up there for me because of our London hoodoo up to that point. Also, I was watching the gamecast during an important engineers' meeting. Everybody thought I was preparing for my presentation.

Is there a higher res version available? I'd imagine the club will have a couple on Flickr later. Blatantly copying Willem Defoe from Platoon, although Tiote would just get stronger (and a bit more irritated) after being shot 1500 times.

fair enough then.

I'd say the club was lacking ambition if we hadn't accepted the deal, limiting ourselves to a stupidly overhyped, glorified battering ram of a striker who, if anything limited our style of play. We can get players a on a different level to AC with that cash. Seriously what is with the clamour for Carroll on here, he's not that good and never will be, he wasn't even the best player in our squad. What tools apart from heading does he really have to make it as a great player? His skill is average, as is his pace, intelligence and finishing. People need to give their heads a shake saying he was going to be a PL great (not specifically you Dave), after scoring 11 goals in one of the worst standard seasons in the league's history, a season where Leon Best has scored a hattrick and a newly promoted club has hit 5+ goals in 3 matches and lets not forget Kevin Nolan already has 10 goals as well. We now have a great chance to build a good footballing side with some higher level players, with this money we can get 6/7 Ben Afra/Tiote like signings ffs, If Andy Carroll had stayed we'd have been confined to alot of boring route 1 stuff and i wouldn't want a team to be built around him for long as he can only take you to a certain level as aplayer. Onwards and upwards i say. Good luck with that. Jesus H. Christ. I'm sure that post is all just in our heads, it can't really have happened, can it? Unbelievable. 6 or 7 Ben Arfa/Tiote-style signings? On this day I weep for the tragic passing of reality-based arguments.

Do the local media brown nose the club/Ashley too much?
Vinny Green Balls replied to Big Geordie's topic in Football
The local media seem more concerned with fucking terrible puns. Reading anything on icnewcastle is like reading somebody's blog which uses their cat's point of view. Would drive a weak man to Cobain himself. -
So he paid Sidwell off to fracture his cheekbone? WTF? It's like watching punditry on Fox News sometimes. Say what you will about Ameobi, but yesterday's injury is not his fault in any way, shape, or form.

people believe in the shit that furthers their own arguments, and cut out the rest. This is why most aren't cut out for the scientific fields (and even some scientists aren't).

Best's hattrick: blatantly a gambit by West Ham to keep us from buying a striker, and thus begin our long descent into the abyss.

I'm with this. Sheer blind unflinching bitter hatred is what's needed. This. The only logical course of action. -
Those were clear penalties...only against ManUre. There is no way in hell that it is worth blowing the whistle over that slight amount of holding in the box. That

All we can really do is show a bit of defiance. But as I stated earlier, fuck him. I am not letting him chase me out of this club. I've been supporting them for too long. And I am fairly certain that most people who now say that the last straw was pulled will be back. Your logic will only take you so far away from the club. We are all daft to support the Toon. Most of us had no choice in the matter. And those of us that did in all probability really didn't. The club picked us whether we like it or not. Maybe I was Hitler's oil boy in my last life, and this is my karmic fate. But karmic fate or no, this club is inside me, and an overinflated douchebag isn't going to drive it out.

Simple. There are cunts, and then there are real cunts. Then there are colossal cunts. Beyond the boundaries of cuntitude, there are even cunts so large that they comprise the dark matter at the center of our galaxy. Look into Ashley's asshole and you'll likely discover the Higgs Boson.

Wow, it really does sound like an argument about Mubarak now. How appropriate. "But what happens to Israel when Mubarak steps down?" Leave no doubts in your mind. Ashley has been fucking abysmal! And I state this objectively. We were relegated under his tenure, and he has continually touched us with his entropic hand whenever we have been in danger of seeing a bit of stability. We have some United States foreign policy architects following the Toon apparently.

If the club is sold, what do you bet it will be on August 31, and after replacing our best players with loan signings?
