  1. He doesn't fit in Drillo's system, not because he's not better than the likes of Vaagan Moen and Hauger.
  2. Thinking about it, this might disrupt our group of lads more than first thought if they feel the club forced out their mate, no?
  3. He had a five year contract, he did not in any way have to go. I don't doubt Cashley and Co would've wanted the money, but in the end Carroll could just tell them he'd not leave if he didn't want to. I don't think the players or Pardew would have been opposed to him staying. Unless of course he was blackmailed to leave. But that's a bit too sensationalist even for us. As far as i'm concerned Carroll is a cunt, but Cashley and Co are even bigger cunts.
  4. Simply put: Stockholm Syndrome = Feelings of affection and pity towards your abuser. Battered Wife Syndrome = Not acknowledging being in an abusive relationship out of fear and a lingering hope that the beatings are over and that everything will turn out okay and happiness can live forever after. Which one do we suffer from? After each beating we keep returning to our abusive relationship convincinc ourselves that "this time we'll not get beaten, this time it will be fine." (Obviously there's more to both conditions than that, mind. I just can't be arsed actually starting a proper discussion about it by expanding. )
  5. It's excuses made to stay in the abusive relationship. Symptoms are similar to SS, granted, but the relationship and situation are not.
  6. Not anything like Stockholm Syndrome, we don't feel appreciative feelings for Ashley. We have battered wife syndrome, we let him beat us over and over but we always think there's some good in him so we can't bring up enough courage to go to the police and end it once and for all, because deep down we keep thinking that surely he doesn't actually want to beat us over and over? So we keep feeling we'll give him time to calm down, because then he'll surely stop beating, no? He won't. They never stop. Domestic abuse is not a joke.
  7. Jérémie Aliadière is on a free though. obviously do not want, just in case you were wondering.
  8. Camoranesi is looking to go to Argentina btw.
  9. We should blatantly bring Mutu in until the end of the season. He's an utter cockend but he'd net a few goals and then we can throw him out in the summer. Is he a proper free agent though? Isn't he just "suspended" from the Fiorentina squad for an unspecified amount of time?

    Season Tickets

Such a shame. I know. After the relegation I managed to persuade her to keep going, now she says she is sick. She is 11 and when I told her Carroll had more than likely gone tonight she just looked at me and said, "I don't want to go to Newcastle anymore". It's £100 cheaper for me to renew the bairns ticket whether she uses it or not (she hasn't been much this season at all). I've renewed every year since 1982 so i'm not going to stop now. The bairns ticket is over £200 cos she is in the Leazes corner with me. That story makes me sad. Can't imagine what it must be like to experience all of this through a child's eyes. My nephew was in tears, he loved Carroll. Refused to acknowledge he'd not play for us anymore when I told him he'd be off, was a sad state of affairs. I feel guilty for practically forcing him to support NUFC from the day he was born.
  11. Seriously, man? Not even Davide Santon? Mahmadou Sakho? How about Jozy Altidore?
  12. You deplorable fucking liar. I've only had Skjelbred, Dempsey, Altidore and Sakho in any FM teams, man. Thinking about it, I may have had Piatti in FM 08. I can't recall properly. Absolute bollocks. You have FM open right now and FIFA running with the Ethernet cord pulled out. I know a "Search by age" post when I fucking see it. That is so not a search by age post, I'm amazed you've not heard or seen enough of those players in real life to not think outside FM ffs. I'm a shit football fan now, honestly. If we're not playing, I don't give a shit, tbh. I'd get the accusation if those players were actually unknown FM gems, man.

That is so not a search by age post, I'm amazed you've not heard or seen enough of those players in real life to not think outside FM ffs. Some of the brightest REAL LIFE talents there, and Altidore.

  15. Piatti is a winger, man, I'm thinking more of in the hole, no? I was more just listing eight midfielders rather than thinking positions by the way.
  16. tbh, I purposedly did not go with players I'd only heard of in FM. These are players I've seen in actual real life matches that I think could be attainable, fit the youth policy and potentially improve the squad.
  17. It's what these threads are all about before they get all serious and we get depressed.
  18. I tried to stay within the reals of realism, man. I wanted to put Messi in there and shit you know.
  19. If I was in charge I'd probably go with something like: (Which is why it's probably good I'm not in charge. ) Krul/Forster Santon (loan)/Simpson Sakho/Willo Colo/Taylor Enrique/Angel Ben Arfa/Barton Piatti/Nolan Tiote/Skjelbred Dempsey/Jonas Traore/Wickham Altidore (loan)/Ameobi (like he's ever leaving)
  20. I'm actually an optimist, I've just heard us linked with Skjelbred so many times it's getting hilarious. Hence why I've always maintained we should go in for him If it helps, I'll utter the immortal phrase... He's fucking class on Football Manager He ain't bad in real life either, man. Desperately needs to step up to a bigger league now though or he'll be the next Roar Strand.
  21. Also, I didn't know that. Rosenborg are pushing for him to sign an extension but he's very reluctant as he wants to get the chance to play in a bigger league and feels a longer contract would make it unlikely to happen as the club would go "he's got so-so many years left on his contract, cough up the dosh." during negotiations and so on. At least that's what our media is telling us. Been a hot topic over here with Brann cockblocking Huseklepp from going to Celtic after having a mutual agreement with him that they'd let him go to a bigger league if a club came in with a reasonable offer when he signed an extension. Rosenborg don't have a budget to bump his wage either, he's the second best paid player in the Norwegian league with about £500k a year. I've no doubt he's a goner in the summer.
