1990 is way before anything I can coherently remember, and I would have been less than one during that WC. It was interesting to see the Italy team though. I swear Maldini, Mancini, and Ancelotti look exactly the same as they did 20 years ago.

Carling Cup, every time. England are only there to fill in the gaps every other summer (apart from the summer of 08 though). Though I would rather England win trophies ahead of every other nation. Carling Cup is bloody tinpot though. Chances are it will be gone in a few years anyway. So, I'd rather see Newcastle win something then England win something, club ahead of country. We're the only country on the planet that puts clubs before our own country I'm inclined to agree, but it's sad I think. i'll bet you'll find many people abroad who'll put their domestic teams fortunes before their national teams ? Unless you live in one of the better regions of Europe, chances are you don't support your domestic teams at all, never mind putting them above your nation. I can proudly state where I'm from, but I'm not living or dying based on the fortunes of Ibadan Shooting Stars, or any other teams in that corrupt, mismanaged s***hole of a league. I personally regard NUFC and Marseille above my "local" team and my country above all. I heavily doubt that any foreign supporter of European club is putting them above their country, unless their Indian and no one cares.

They've been rubbish. Game should have been over some time ago.

Should Harper be our number 1 in the Premier League - Next Season
Segun Oluwaniyi replied to Decky's topic in Football
We need to loan Krul to a decent team in Italy, France, or Spain and see how he actually does. Harper is too old to sacrifice our future for. -

It's a legitimate question, regardless of the ridiculous nature of his current criticism. The problem is we haven't seen enough of Krul or Forster to make a knowledgable decision. -
This is such nonsense, man. Mourinho's record speaks for itself, man. Which parts of his record? Porto? and Chelsea. A lot of people dismissed the titles he won because of the money spent but look how Scolari struggled there, Grant never managed to win it either and imo Ancelotti's side isn't as good as Mourinho's old Chelsea side even though they will win the title this season. Mourinho also failed in his last season. Ancelotti has had to start players like Mikel, an over the hill Ballack, Kalou and Anelka this season. If he does the double, he's surpassed anything that Mourinho achieved there. Nonsense. In the season that Mourinho "failed" he still won both domestic cups, lost in the CL semi-finals on penalties, and finished second in the league by five points to a vastly improved Man U side. (Rooney and Ronaldo coming into their own). The next year he left in September. Chelsea still have the best squad in the Premiership this season, and of the players you listed, only Kalou has not come in and done well when called upon to start. Their depth has been a great strength this season, but really Mikel, Ballack, and Kalou were forced to play a lot under Mourinho as well before (before Obi and Kalou had devleoped as well).

He's well within his rights to pull out. The attack will have shaken him. Honestly, he wasn't all that committed before random Angolans came after him with AK-47. It is no surprise he is not committed now.

Do you know how is knee is? Sounded like it may be more serious than they thought.

Even then it is beyond stupid. Casillas has been one of the world's best for years and is not above 6 feet. I suppose they would have taken men over him though because of some idiotic height requirement. The world's best, Julio Cesar is only about 6 foot flat.

The use of Hillsbrough and Munich by Liverpool and Man U supporters, respectively is absolutely disgusting imo. You'd think one would want to respect the dead, but instead they engage in some insane game of one-up-manship. I remember them running that poor boy Itandje out of town for having a smile and moving a little during the 20th anniversary ceremony. The whole thing is a nasty blot on the world of football.

"Farsa". I like "little chickens" as well. That's what I used to call my younger brother.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. We shouldn't be calling anyone trash at this point. We need significant strengthening to be better than most of these teams. Still, I think we are one of the better promoted sides in recent years and should be comfortable if we are smart this summer.

Post the word, VI. I'll put in the online translator.

As someone with a foot in both camps. Anyone from Marseille you'd like to see us buy? Many players would help, but I'm not sure who would come/is realistic. Especially if they qualify for the CL (which seems likely), and win the League (they are in good position). Of the non-starters, Charles Kabore is class imo, Baki Kone is very dangerous, Valbuena would be a good signing too. The other good players would not come. edit: Valbuena just scored one himself, to go along with Kone's earlier.

Given the choice between playing in the Championship on low wages or playing in the Premier League on significantly higher wages, most will choose the latter. From what I've seen, he's still a good players. He's a centre defender at Spurs, so he's invariably had injury issues, but he's been fine when he's played. Pretty much the same player, with the exact same deficiencies he had last season.

M'Bia! 2-0! Will be top again tonight, with a chance to extend in midweek. (assuming they hold on, not tempting fate) Love Taiwo and M'bia's dance.

carrick isn't exactly demanding a first team spot at this point anyway. He's been poor of late.

It's ridiculous that Ranger is already being written off by some on here. when Carroll was 19 he off being a failure at Preston and didn't score a senior goal until 20. Now he has established himself as a relatively important first team member. Depending on what time of day he was born, Mr. Ranger may be 18 or 19 right now, he has plenty of time and I would hope the coaching staff would be looking to help this promising young talent. Loan is the correct option.

Honestly, can all of you just stop this nonsense. This is legimately the most stupid, frivolous, and childish "argument" I've seen on here.

I agree with some of the actually point's KD is making, but how in the world is Kezman "making a name for himself" That's ridiculous. edit: Lucho with a another assist. He's been looking well worth his price of late.
