I'd forgotten he'd been comically sent off against the Scousers.
-
See they had their first league game on Sunday. Shola must be injured or worse than we realised - he wasn't involved at all.
-
If it's a 6 month loan he'll be able to show the world what he can do and sign a pre contract with another club come March? Gotta hope Pards is gone by then and he stays with us.

Falcao; season long loan
-
He must like shopping on his Saturday afternoons; got the taste for it at the back end on last season doing TK Max in Eldon Square.
-
With the current, available, players he has to choose from in the position he'd play Colback I don't think Hodgsonngas done anything wrong in picking him and, if he gets on, good luck to him. He's been steady in his games for us and that's what he offers, you know what you'll get. Last season he made our lot look less than average as his team won 3-0 and he strolled through to score the 3rd. If he wasn't a local lad and hadn't played down the road he wouldn't be getting the unfair stick. There's a place for a Colback player in most teams, you wouldn't want to have 2 in there but unless you are a top top team you'll be asking for trouble without one. Judge him on what he's being asked to do and how he does it.

Haggerston Castle, Holiday Park for most; Football Factory violence hot bed for Mackems. If you're planning on going, think again. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/haggerston-castle-during-matches.958712/

Ever since Remy decided he was too good for us to even bother trying or indeed play we have known we needed a goal scored, we new this because Remy, Cisse and Ba had shown us that goal scorers keep you mid table without much else in the team. VI is right when he's says its bad planning. Preseason emphasised that we would struggle for goals. We do not have a striker who carries a threat or has the ability to worry defenders. Or indeed get a shot on target.

Here's a serious question; you are manager of Man U and you have 60 million to spend. Do you splash it all on Di Maria, who you'll play in a wide position and who will be reliant on a bit of a ponderous midfield to supply him or do you say splash 3 or 4 million on HBA and use the rest to get a centre half and a midfielder in? Man U need a leader on the pitch, someone who will dominate a game, someone who really is worth 60 Million. I'm delighted they're spending that much as frankly I don't think he'll make that much of a difference and I'd rather be facing him than say a fit and motivated HBA. And is still have over 55 Million left to spend .

Di Maria's price almost makes Andy Carroll's transfer fee to Lpool seem good business and a bit of a bargain (almost). I'm not saying players like Di Maria are ten a penny but he honestly reminds me of an upmarket Jonas - Farm Foods to Asda rather than Netto to Waitrose. If he wasn't playing for Real Madrid he'd be no where near that price.
-
Who's the lad who looks like the daft lad out of Mrs Brown's Boys? He also looks like he's pissing milk.
-
I've never been that impressed with Di Maria, he can certainly put a shift in and scores a few goals in a great attacking team but I'd say they're paying up to 40 million too much.

We need to stump up and pay the going rate for a goal scorer, you can throw 8 million at strikers and get shit but pay double that and if you've scouted properly you'll get goals. It's hardly breaking the bank and should avoid the need to throw money at the January window. We may need a centre half but we need goals more. The only positive is that Pardew may come a cropper. It was painfully obvious in pre season that we don't carry a threat where we need it most.
-
The simple truth is that we need a goal scorer, they cost lots of money and we wont pay it. We will drop points on games we would otherwise have won and we'll be hovering just above relegation places because of this. We have been very fortunate in the last 3 years, you just can't keep hoping someone will come good.
-
We desperately need a goal scorer, we'll be in trouble without one.
-
This is the case, I think a lot of his friends, famous and local have almost given up after years of trying. It's desparately sad to see but short of locking him up/ sectioning him, what can you do?
-
Commentator says a little unfortunate when one of his own team stops the ball going in standing on the goal line. Lol
-
Chelsea went from 1/3 to 21/10 when Burnley scored, back to 1/3 now. I've got the 21/10, can't believe the Bookies would be backing against Chelsea not scoring at least 2 in this game.
-
IMO we are woefully short of a goal scorer and leader of the line up front. I can't see any of our strikers getting enough goals. If Pardew keeps on with hoofing it up to the front the ball will simply come back our way. Remy's a money grabbing twat but I'd be confident of goals. Id rather have Darren Bent as an option than signing strikers who appear much of a muchness. With a bit luck Pardew will be gone by mid October.
-
How many games will we have to lose for Pardew to be sacked and would the dressing room want him back in? Come on City, Villa, Palace etc The King will have his spies out tmrw; a 2 week fine beckons.
-
He'd be better off signing for Gateshead. If they'd have him. He'll get slaughtered over there.
-
For some on here it seems that HBA can no wrong. I hope he doesn't feel the same way. I don't think anyone has laid all the blame for the current situation on him but many are prepared to lay it all at Pardew's door. For all his short comings this isn't all down to Pardew, there has to be compromise and on the pitch the players must follow orders, no matter how bad they may be, the manager will get found out. If the relationship has broken down beyond repair HBA needs to move himself on. I hope that's not the case if it is the manager almost always wins. The current state of affairs is no good for anyone, supporters included.

We've tried to play everything through him at times, his decision making as been very poor at times, players around him stop making runs because they don't believe he'll make the pass. Whether people like it or not, even the most talented players do have some responsibility for getting back when the team needs it. If nothing else he should always be in tip top shape. Saying he's not a Pardew type player doesn't wash. He'd have issues with even with the most expansive type manager. As an opposing manager you'd tell your team to double up on him when he's in possession and attack his position when you have the ball. That happens, Hull at home is the most obvious example. He has to become a more rounded player, not massively but enough to become less predictable. Yes, he is predictable, brilliant at times but still too predictable. People need to stop making excuses for him, we're paying his wages and are expected to accept never mind, you take our money and don't worry 'cos Pardew's a twat. It's not your fault. I genuinely feel he's let us down, teasing us with his moments of genius and taking a lend of us because he knows he's got what we want and we'll forgive his indiscretions. Femme Fatale.
