I've bought into the hype. I've never watched La Liga and don't know much about him, but I'm very, very excited.

I didn't get to see the game, but I didn't expect we were going to see goals with Smith and Ameobi up front. At the end of the day, it's just preseason, so I'm not going to panic just yet. Coloccini (sp?) + a central midfielder and another striker and we're in good shape to improve on last year's results. I have faith that Keegan knows this and can get the powers that be to understand the importance of it.

Well, I agree that it shouldn't be the top priority, but if we can get one who is better than Faye and Taylor, then I'm all for it. What I'm trying to say is that I don't mind Ashley spending his money.

Their defence is still not as good as it could be (and probably can't be expected to stay fit), and if this is the team they go forward with, they're seriously lacking Premiership experience. But they're making good moves that could definately see them there in a season or two.

I'm starting to get concerned about this whole saga. His new contract should have been sorted out by now and with him coming public, it must mean there's a problem. Surely, we need to either meet his demands or sell him immediately, in order to get someone else in here in time. Injury prone or not, we're in bad shape if we don't have him here this season.

Does this mean his contract has been sorted out? I would love to get official word on that. At any rate, Owen is currently the only member of the team (aside from Beye, I suppose) who is anywhere near a guaranteed start if he stays fit. So, just for that reason, he's our best choice for captain.

Yeah, they'll no doubt move him to central midfield and then claim that it's just like getting a new signing. Taylor's new contract, a "teenage" Damien Duff, and Milner out of position will be trumpeted as our big summer moves.

Personally I'd rather see: Zogs/Duff Guthrie Barton Jonas I did state start of the season, because I don't think Barton will be available. It's hard to say whether or not this formation will work, until we see Jonas suit up. But who knows, maybe Milner will find his stride in central midfield. I hope so. I think he's a good player and I'm desperate for him to succeed here.
