In Eddie we trust (unless there's a way we can wet the bed about a player until they prove themselves and we trust Eddie again) doesn't quite have the same ring to it but seems to have become the mantra.
-
He'll get plenty of minutes this season as Howe looks to rotate some players to tackle 4 competitions and I think it'll do him and us good. The boy has star quality and just needs minutes under his belt to get back to his 2023 form and better.
-
Could do without wor Sandro shining on the global stage tbh, he's ours and I'd like to keep it that way.
-
Sociopathic and narcissistic tendencies, I'd like to think that will catch up with him one day. There's no doubting his quality, but his character, that's 100% up for debate. An ego in a sea of egos at the dippers, a match made in hell. What a soulless and unlikeable team Slot has created and he's their new poster boy for it all.

I'm running out of bookmarks to go back to at the end of the season, there's knee jerks and then there's NO-jerks and there's a few of them on here, my days
-
Those rules were brought in to stop us, there's no way anything will be taken into consideration if it benefits our attempt to close the gap. Though I agree in principle.
-
He was valued at £3m just a year ago fwiw, he was an unknown before the Euros.
-
Can we at least wait until he gets his feet through the door here and see what he can do under Eddie's tutelage, with our players around him? Sometimes a player just doesn't shine on the international stage as they do at club level either, Jared Bowen anyone?
-
Quality goal Wissa, there's hope in our strike force yet!
-
Not denying what you're saying comparable to young footballers, but personally I can't stand London, I think it's a grim place full of grim people and any time I've had to venture down there I've got back up North as quick as possible.
-
I think Howe will rotate him in during matches quite a lot, with the number and frequency of games between now and the next international break he will need to manage the minutes of both our strikers to prevent burn out and injury. With Wissa though he has perfect foil to reduce the pressure on Woltemade bedding in whether he starts or sees out a game. I certainly won't judge him on a single international game where the whole team around him looked poor.
-
Can't really judge him on that, they didn't even give him scraps to feed off, happy just to play in front of the Slovakian defence, that was a very Southgate performance, slow, laboured and zero dynamism. Bring Woltemade into play by allowing him to drop deep in attack and release the wingers past their markers instead of playing them into dead ends. Poorest Germany performance I've seen since Michael Owen put 3 past them in 2001.

Most important signing we've made in the last few months, great news.
-
Fwiw I've had a look around at predicted line ups and they all have him starting so of course I'll be tuning in also to see how he fairs
-
For clarity, the comparison to Cisse I was making was the quick shooting from any range with accuracy and power. Anything he touched in those first few months just flew in like a homing missile.
-
He definitely won't want to speak on him, he'll feel betrayed as much as the rest of us and I think the rat is probably as good as dead to him now.
-
He's like a prime Cisse, his first touch and close control is quality and he is rapid, it's going to be great having a player that scores his 1v1's too. Some great selfless plays in that reel too, unlike a certain selfish striker that shan't be named.

I'd be lying if I said I don't care any more, Isak was one of the best strikers in world football for us and I think that will sting for a while seeing him play for them lot and score goals for them. We've lost a major talent, no matter how you look at it. Yes, there's things I won't miss, his attitude being the most obvious, but it still stings the way this all transpired and I was adamant he wouldn't actually get to go through with it this season, right up until the last few days of the window. Having said that I'm also excited to see what our new front line of Wissa and Woltemade can produce and I think once we start cooking with those two, the rat will become a distant memory. In a way this international break has come at a rubbish time as I think we need to fumigate the place and that will only come with wins. It's perfectly acceptable to be excited for the future but also feel betrayed and a little sad at the loss of such a good player. I think it's also OK to hope it all comes crashing down like a house of cards for the dippers and for judas to have a mare of a season and we finish above them.
-
I'm genuinely excited to see him play too, I don't even think it's going to take him long to make an impact either.
-
If you don't know anything about him then maybe it's best if you just keep quiet about him so you don't look like the idiot you clearly are? Or in hindsight maybe you could have just watched a video or two of him so you could make some assumptions at least, knowing he was heading to the league and you're likely to be asked about him. To go in blind and make blind assumptions based on an absence of any data is the height of stupidity.
-
Wissa will 100% start with Woltemade making his debut in the last 15-30 minutes depending on the score
-
It feels like the Waugh article was aimed at the ceiling of the player's ability rather than the ceiling of their success on a football pitch, I'd agree with you that we're less likely to succeed with the rat gone, but I'd also argue that it cannot be stated that the squad ability ceiling is lower just yet.
