  1. Blackpool (23rd in League 1) play Barrow (22nd in League 2) in the football league trophy tonight. Surely he can't survive if they lose this one?

    Malick Thiaw

    Semenyo will give him nightmares
  3. Tonali flies under the radar because he does all the thankless jobs immaculately, he's not going to skin 4 players and score a blasty from outside the area and a lot of the time that's what makes people sit up and watch. He's clinical, covers a lot of ground and protects the defence perfectly, he can spot a pass and has immense build up play but he's rarely there to finish the job, because that's not his job. I don't think there's a better player in his position and I'm happy no one has picked up on what he does because he's ours and I want him to stay that way.
  4. It is a pressure cooker of expectation and they have players with the heart of a flea. It doesn't matter how good a team is there is always a point in a game where you come under some kind of pressure from the opposition and it seems they capitulate every time that happens. Confidence is low and it ebbs away quickly when they're not on top.
  5. The same Mosquito that spent 20 minutes of the game rolling around on the floor clutching his face like he'd been shot every time one of our players breathed near him. Pretty sure there was an incident in the penalty area where one of our players made a high kick to reach the ball nowhere near his face and for a split second he held his face before realising how farcical it was and continued to play on, incessant cheat.
  6. Just what we needed a buoyant and rampant Barcelona, full of confidence and verve
  7. Just got in, honestly has there ever been a less deserving, jammy team sat aloft the Premier league table, not one but two seasons running? So infuriating to watch it happen time and time again, like an inevitable slow motion kick in the ghoolies that you have to stand and watch.

    Harvey Barnes

He just looks a bit rusty, I think he'll start to find form just in time for Gordon to come back!
  9. Not a game for the ages but a win is a win and we were really good at times, should have had a couple more goals when we were on top but can't be anything other than happy about that. Bring on the Catalan giants!
  10. Still annoyed at the blatant red, happy with the score, really happy with Woltemade's debut, he's played really well, been involved a lot more than he who will not be named and capped it off with his goal, not bad for a 50p head! We were in full flow at the end of that second half and looked so good, really strong, it's scary.

Howay Nick, time to shine! I'd love for him to make an instant impact tomorrow but I hope he gets the grace he deserves if he doesn't.

Fwiw I'm 47 now, I don't get embarrassed anymore, I lost that curse when I had a kid, people care too much about the perception of others, learn to validate yourself and worry less. As much as I joked about Isak getting an injury I wouldn't wish harm on another player, but it's also fanciful to suggest that somehow caused one of ours to get injured and incredibly weak to be embarrassed about it.

An argument can be made for Nick starting too, I know he's not as quick but his control and distribution in tight areas means he's perfect foil to release our fast wingers behind their high line also.
  14. HBA is one of my favourite ever players, he was unplayable in his pomp and in the early days he tore teams to shreds. It was only when things began to come unstuck for Pardew and he threw HBA under the bus that he started to become anonymous. HBA was a player that needed constant smoke blown up him, he needed to feel like the main man but instead he was ostracised, blamed and hung out to dry and too many supporters bought into the blame game when the real problem was Pardew. There's not many managers that could handle a mercurial talent such as his but I agree Sir Bobby would have been the perfect manager for him, his ability to put his arm around a player and make them feel bigger than life would have got him fired up. I'm not saying HBA was innocent, he was his own worst enemy and should have been one of the best players of his generation, he did himself no favours with his attitude, he was a diva, but that usually goes hand in hand with the immense skill he possessed. Losing Ben Arfa was one of the lowest points I've ever had watching NUFC, harder to take than relegation.

I heard he came in this thread and knee jerked so hard he had to be subbed off with a limp.
  17. Was about to post something similar, so many "values" are demonstrable lies, fit & healthy, cool, committed, sincere.... come on
  18. It's that cardboard monotone voice and vacant delivery of incomprehensible footballing monotony that really tops of the package. The absolute dullest of dulls, a vacuum of intelligence and joy. But aye, wouldn't tire of punching his stupid face.
