:clap:good stuff from the club

Dyer & Jenas are the only ones I'd boo/give stick. How can anyone forgive Dyer for his 2 goal-line 'clearences' alone? And Jenas pranced about happy to play within himself hardly busting a gut in his last 2 years. Bowyer, Bramble, Sibierski, Parker all gave everything regardless of whether they had good games/bad games.

Edgar looks the most promosing for me, Huntington dosent look too great imo

Good point, seemed to be well up on the Parker stuff, wasn't that the game Carr and he had a rick with fans? Can't quite remember. The atmosphere thing was probably part of his game plan... Massive point. I cant for the life of me understand when fans start constantly whinging through the game getting on our own players back when you are playing into the oppositions hands! Managers will come to SJP and to to their players 'get the crowd edgy, get them nervous, force them to play it back and feed off the negative atmosphere' and we play right into it! Yes its not the be all and end all for the opposition but it damn well helps, helps them play with more confidence and freedom and they sense the Newcastle players getting nervous. But if there was constant support throught the 90 minutes it'd make it much harder for the opposition and indimidating for them, not us! And by consatnt support I mean at least allow the players play with maximum freedom, not afraid to make a pass due to fear of the wrath of the crowd, if you dont nessicarly sing songs.
-
Its about the impatience during the 90 minutes, not the attendance. It didnt really do much when we finished 3rd & 4th so Im not expecting it to be superb this season, but Im hoping so, especially with new owners, new start etc.

He's spot on & speaks the truth. For such a long time now Im at a match and cant believe the panic that sets into some supporters because we are playing poorly, and question their motives. Bottom line your either with the lads or your not. If you are, you wouldnt start shouting abuse when a player makes a bad pass or give knee-jerk reactions to results. But a lot of people seem to go enjoy going to the match to have a whinge, they must feel big. Well done, your big mate, you called lept out your seat and shouted how s*** Martins is supposedly, thats very big of you, give yourself a pat on the back on the way home. SBR deserved to see out his last year, but part of the reason he went was the panic that set in around the place. If everyone had sat back, realised that you know what, things arnt that bad and gave SBR the send off he deserved in his last year Shpeherd wouldnt have went against the fans and sacked him, but it was made easy for him because of the fans leaving a near-empty season on the lap of honour for finishing fifth.

Disrupting flow of game/causing unrest in home ends and winding down the clock. We were 3-1 up and comfortable, if they were allowed to build any momentum however, things could have become extremely uncomfortable. He did what I'm in no doubt was expected of him, from the bench. To go and jump all over Faye and be a complete nuisance in the most crudest of ways. Its a fair point like. But at the same time, youve gotta question why the hell cant he bust a gut more when running-jogging, altho thats the point, its not running, he just jogs. Im not saying why isnt he fast, but simply when have you seen him actually sprint?? I backed his case for a while personally and thought he got unfair stick to begin with, but he has had so many chances to shine since bieng here and hasnt taken them, he's been so poor for so long now imo, its crazy he's still here. Never seen Viduka sprint... I think people are being extremely harsh here, he came on for a few minutes, he's hardly figured in pre-season and hasn't played much football at all for more than 6 months, and people expect a player who isn't quick to start with, to start sprinting about chasing things? He's been like it long before his injury, he spends more time on the floor. He's basically went back-wards imo, I remember when he played some games under SBR when we finished third and he was a much better player and got too much stick then. But like I said, hes went backwards imo.

Out of all these posts i cant belive that only a handful of posters has pointed out the most important thing he said in that entire article...bollocks to the signings, its the quote above. It show how ignorant nufc fans are when they are unable to assess the effects of there booing on a players performnace. In the end, we're all supporters and thats exactly what she should f****** doing. In my humble opinion you support till the very last second. People are quick to point out how "we are the best supporters in the world" its the same people who seem to forget that at times, we can also be the most destructive. Read the thread title mate, it tends to happen that people post about what the thread title is actually about. Yeh mate thanks for proving my point, thats exactly what i mean, an entire thread has been made out of one tiny 'quote' and the most important part of that article has been missed by so many. How can you call yourself a supporter if ya dont f****** support?? As a nufc fan and as most intellignet fans realise this is far more important than us signing 2 more players. Exactly, so true. For such a long time now Im at a match and cant believe the panic that sets into some supporters because we are playing poorly, and question their motives. Why is Ramage ahead of Edgar, whats the deal? I would of liked to ov seen Edgar play more pre season, he looks more talented than Ramage - he has composure on the ball which helps a lot if we are having to play someone out of position there.
-
reeeeet lol wye you get the message anyway!
-
No you dont, you dont have to be anything. If your a Newcastle fan who would love the atmosphere to be lifted then technically your 'an ultra'. Its not about 'be with them or be with us', its just about like minded fans making a positive difference and changing the atmosphere.

Here f****** here. Really sad like, its just a news channel they need to err calm down, they take themselves so seriously.

Nolberto

Ahead of who do ya reckon? Martins, Viduka? Martins will be off to the ACN, Viduka/Owen will have injuries all year. I reckon Smith will play in other positions, but more up front in total. Aye, chuffed we have him to play there now as a good strong striker to replace Viduka when needed, interesting to see who plays vs Bolton, whether Smith & Martins are in the same team.
-
I cant see Owen playing In that position personally, he dosent like running with the ball like he used to, wouldnt like getting back and I just dont think he'd play that position very well, unlike Smith or Milner.

Geremi and Butt can play DM very well I think those two as regular dm starters is terrible for a team aspiring for european football tbh Thats bloody harsh like imo.
-
A lot will depend on the opposition, I'd have him in upfront as the one to hold the ball up of Viduka got injured, and he would have him on the right side of 3 strikers - between him & Milner for me. For some tough away games 3 the the middle of Smith, Butt & Barton looks tasty...
-
If we can get a few atmospheres like the 1-0 win over Chelsea when Carr got sent off in 05/06 for some of the other games which are going to have a "big" feel about them like the rejuvinated Man City, Aston Villa, West Ham (Bowyer, Bellamy and Dyer) and Tottenham then I'd be happy enough. I don't expect the place to be lifting against the dross, unless there's some incident or referee-born consternation, or if we go a goal down (like under Robson) but just as long as there's not so much griping and moaning any longer. There is definitely a lot to shout about, even if we don't exceed expectations from the off. Patience is still vital. Yup people need to remember that during the matches
-
So much competition in midfield, looks really promising. Tru what someone said imo, it will depend a lot on the opposition who plays.
-
Given Solano Cacapa Taylor Dragutinovic Milner Barton Butt NZogbia Viduka Martins Harper Rozzy Emre/Geremi Smith Owen A lot of people will think you cant leave Owen out, maybe he should start, but Martins has looked really dangerous pre season and is such an exciting talent I'd find it hard to leave him out, Viduka would always start for me.

First choice left winger.
-
Thats the thing though - he is lazy. So many times he gets the ball, turns, and plays it back, playing within himself. Theres a difference between covering ground off the ball and going out on that pitch to make things happen, demanding the ball, taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Look at games like Alkmar for example - he just dosent want to know man, he couldnt give a crap. He has a couple of purple patches during a season and everyone decides 'Dyers superb etc' but for him thats job done, a few games of actually making things happen and thats it for the season. The only difference this time is maybe Allardyce could get his arse in gear and get him playing with a purpose every game. But I'd personally come back to the fact he dosent fit in anyway imo.
