  1. Ahead of who do ya reckon? Martins, Viduka?
  2. Geremi and Butt can play DM very well I think those two as regular dm starters is terrible for a team aspiring for european football tbh Thats bloody harsh like imo.
  3. A lot will depend on the opposition, I'd have him in upfront as the one to hold the ball up of Viduka got injured, and he would have him on the right side of 3 strikers - between him & Milner for me. For some tough away games 3 the the middle of Smith, Butt & Barton looks tasty...

    St James' Park

If we can get a few atmospheres like the 1-0 win over Chelsea when Carr got sent off in 05/06 for some of the other games which are going to have a "big" feel about them like the rejuvinated Man City, Aston Villa, West Ham (Bowyer, Bellamy and Dyer) and Tottenham then I'd be happy enough. I don't expect the place to be lifting against the dross, unless there's some incident or referee-born consternation, or if we go a goal down (like under Robson) but just as long as there's not so much griping and moaning any longer. There is definitely a lot to shout about, even if we don't exceed expectations from the off. Patience is still vital. Yup people need to remember that during the matches
  5. So much competition in midfield, looks really promising. Tru what someone said imo, it will depend a lot on the opposition who plays.
  6. Given Solano Cacapa Taylor Dragutinovic Milner Barton Butt NZogbia Viduka Martins Harper Rozzy Emre/Geremi Smith Owen A lot of people will think you cant leave Owen out, maybe he should start, but Martins has looked really dangerous pre season and is such an exciting talent I'd find it hard to leave him out, Viduka would always start for me.
  7. Thats the thing though - he is lazy. So many times he gets the ball, turns, and plays it back, playing within himself. Theres a difference between covering ground off the ball and going out on that pitch to make things happen, demanding the ball, taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Look at games like Alkmar for example - he just dosent want to know man, he couldnt give a crap. He has a couple of purple patches during a season and everyone decides 'Dyers superb etc' but for him thats job done, a few games of actually making things happen and thats it for the season. The only difference this time is maybe Allardyce could get his arse in gear and get him playing with a purpose every game. But I'd personally come back to the fact he dosent fit in anyway imo.

    "Fatty" Carr

Spot on, boils my piss too.
  9. We cant play that full time man! That 'united!' at the end is so corny. Just keep local hero.
  10. What a mess if this is true, bloody hell man. Totally pointless, as if Allardyce would want this or requested it, Ashley stop interfeering & running the football side where its Sams job. Allardyces team is in place to start re-building the club, dont go start messing it about just because you didnt appoint him, dosent mean he's not the right man because imo he blatently is. Why do it, for sentimental reason,s popularity? You want that then back the manager who looks to have a great chance of turning us around.
  11. N'Zogbia___Butt____Geremi____Milner Luque_____Butt____N'Zogbia___Milner Milner_____Butt____N'Zogbia___Solano Luque_____Butt____Geremi___Milner I think theres decent options imo, Dyer dosent fit in when a few injuries clear up, we're better off selling him.
  12. "We love you Nobby, because your 5'2, we love you Nobby because your from Peru, we love you Nobby, black and white through and through...!" other version might be this? nobby solano, hes only 5ft2 nobby solano, he comes from peru nobby solano, he loves to play for the toon Aye a think theres 2 slightly different versions.
  13. "We love you Nobby, because your 5'2, we love you Nobby because your from Peru, we love you Nobby, black and white through and through...!"
  14. Based on Ameobi's awful performances over the last 3 years and that Carroll looks a much better bet as a physical prescense up front.
  15. It hit people at the end of last season... we were walking out & booing for finishing 5th... surley everyone can use that as an example of the danger of expecting too much and turning fickle.
  16. I'd rather him playing than Ameobi myself.
  17. Blanket ban on football video's. Sorry.
  18. Dyer dosent care, if he's put right-wing he sulks a lot of the time just going through the motions. Where the hell does he fit in?? He lives off his past and is 29 in December. Its a fair point that Allardyce could get the best out of him, but I think players like Milner & N'Zogbia are worth having in the side much more. Milner/Solano/Geremi for RW, he goes missing badly enough to do it centre midfield where Emre & Barton should be ahead of him and left wings a no-no with N'Zogbia hopefully getting back to his best there, granted no-one knows for sure what Allardyce is going to play.
  19. Solano will always show his class wherever he plays, his quality is still massive for us.
  20. No, Solano's an average right back that looked better because he was compared to Carr. Jugding Solano last season *purley on his own performance, forgetting Carr*, to say he was average is harsh to say the least. He read the play brilliantly, and defended with intelligence, winning his tackles too. When going forward, to have a base to start from at the back, quality on the ball, is massive. We're lucky to have someone of his quality to be backing up the play at RB.
  21. Quality squad player/versitile, but isnt Solano the much better option for RB?
  22. Between Spurs at home & Blackburn away.
