  1. For fucks sake what are they (allegedly) complaining about? So you have to get to work on time... well whoop de doo don't we all. Why should these so called footballers be any different? Yes i know some might think fining them might be excessive, but don't forget these are on thousands a week to play FOOTBALL!!! I'm sure if i was offered their money, i could go to training (for half a day) on time then fuck off home and relax. They've had far too easy for far too long, and that's part of the reason we're in the shite we're in. This might not provide instant results, but in the long term having a much more professional attitude off the pitch might reflect on a more professional one on it.
  2. Maybe we could take an exit poll on match days to see who the fans thought was the worst player. Then the next week at training it would be their car that Harper has to protect. Maybe then we would see a bit more effort.
  3. Howay man i know it's been a terrible season, but you can't say we have no hope of beating Portsmouth, Smoggies and Fulham at home. I know we've only won six games and all that but come on. Keep the hope alive man.
  4. I don't know why, but i have a feeling we'll (for a change) get an early goal tonight. Howay man, our luck has to change sometime hasn't it?
  5. where's he said this? He does a predictor column in The Sun. Honestly, i don't know what he's like on Sky, but in the column he fucking hates us.
  6. Is that all??!!!? Fuck me, image what would happen if that was Barton?
  7. I see Jeff Stelling has us down for draw. I have to admit, i fucking hate this guy. I know he supports Hartlepool or whatever, but fuck me does he hate us. It's not even the fact that he never gives us a chance in any game he predicts. It's the way he talks about us. Seriously, this guys got a problem.
  8. Aye me too. What a fucking nutter. Anyone know what's happening about that?
  9. Plus, then if we were to go down at least we could say we went down with a fight.
  10. The time for caution is well and truly over. We've got to say "fuck it" and go at them with everything from the first minute. Try and put the game beyond doubt from as early on as possible. The longer it goes with it being 0-0, and with our recent form, the chances are that if it's up to the 75-80min mark and we have to push people forward, we will end up getting caught with a sucker punch. Then we really are fucked. Even if this was to happen early on with the gung-ho approach, at least there will be time to rectify it.
  11. Just done the predictor. We stay up on 39 points with 2 away defeats and 3 home wins. By what i put in we would stay up with 2 wins and a draw. But then again i've got Smoggies and Hull down for a few draws but no more wins. So if that changes we're fucked.
  12. Even if we don't stay up, i hope Shearer stays and rebuilds the team from top to bottom.
  13. If we'd had a penalty given against us for a handball like that I'd be livid. It was smashed at him from a yard away. He couldn't do much about it, but I thought it was the right decision from the ref in that case, he clearly (but inadvertantly) controlled it with his hand and wouldn't have scored without it. On the other hand, I thought Woodgate's challange on Oba was a clear pen. Sorry mate but i have to disagree with you there. If the ball had hit a Spurs player on the hand instead of Oba's, would the ref have given a pen? Would he fuck. This was just a prime example of a weak ref giving to easy decision. This is what boils my piss about refs, they give free kicks for certain things outside the box but the same incident inside the box and suddenly they give a completely different decision. My understanding of the rules of football are that it doesn't matter where a foul/handball etc. occurs on the pitch, the decision should be the same.
  14. Things aren't going according to plan with the other teams around us at the minute. Some people are still confident that around 38/39 points will comfortably see us safe. But the way the other teams are picking up the odd win here and there, this could be one of those seasons where 40/41 points see you relegated. For us to be comfortable, i my opinion we need 42 points.
  15. This is a good idea of course, but would only work if all the clubs in the league agreed to it.
  16. Given was without a doubt the best keeper the Toons had in my lifetime. But i have to agree that if he cared as much about us as he's saying, why didn't he stay for a few more months, help us avoid the drop, then fuck off? Can't help but think that the fact that IF we stay up, the chances of his opening match next season will probably be against us at St James' Park might be in his thinking.
  17. Personally i think we could do with another 10 points (three home wins and nick a point away). I know it's a tall ask when you consider our record this season, but i've just got an awful feeling that the clubs around us aren't going to simply implode (like we have), and are going to pick up a few more points.
  18. Apparently Martins was out in Jesmond today. while holding his groin? He fucking better have been.
  19. OH FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!! I'm sick of fucking shitanta screening out fucking games, there's no way i'm getting that shit channel on again. It took me 3 fucking months to cancel it last year. Then this season i would guess about 75% of our live games have been on this pile of crap. I'm pissed off.
  20. At work when it came on the radio. I can honestly say that was the best afternoon at work i've ever had.
  21. I have to admit it'll be interesting to see his first team selection. With the likes of Guthrie, Jonas, Smith(i know), Butt, Nolan, Duff (perhaps) Lovankrands, R Taylor to choose from, it'll be interesting to see who he rates.
  22. That's a fair point actually (not sure about the never finishing in the top ten like), Shearer's made it clear that Owen is basically the first name on the team sheet, and there's always been questions over whether Owen and Martins work well together. Then again he might surprise me and pick them both in new look formation or something like that.
  23. I can't believe that JFK would be stupid enough to take the job back on if Shearer keeps us up. This time last year he was unemployed (i think) with no prospect of another job. In the summer he could have a cushy little scouting job or something with most of the fans blessing. If he was to take the job back at the expense of Shearer (if Shearer wanted it), then he would be public enemy number one. I don't think he would want to put himself through that (well, i hope not). Then again, knowing this club......
