  1. time for a more optimistic thread. not necessarily NUFC. which managers, teams, players, pundits, tactics anything have impressed you this season? For me, Fulham and Roy Hodgson have particularly impressed- lost only 1 game at home considering they only stayed up on goal difference. also, Wigans zaki, valencia, palacios and figuroea have been excellent buys, and the fact that they only narrowly stayed up and are now 7th is impressive.
  2. hardly going to inspire confidence for Gomes. made me think though- that time we won 3-2 daaaahn the lane with the martins cracker, given was absolutely immense! couldnt bear to see him leave!
  3. they'd land their helicopter at stamford bridge and then get a national express coach up to manchester. get with the programme
  4. on bbc i just saw "man city agree fee for bridge" and assumed they were trying to buy Stamford Bridge, maybe as a training ground or somewhere for their owners to land their helicopters
  5. i guess we have at home, although the win we got at the reebok was fat sams first game in charge, so it was always going to be a win for us. still fancy us to lose or if lucky draw there this year- it will be home form that keeps us up.
  6. its a must win alright, there are a lot more of these 6 pointers to come. We also have to play ManU, Arsenal and Chelsea at home we've dropped too many points at home against other teams at the bottom. Aye, our remaining home fixtures are very, very tough. The way it's going, being at home doesn't seem to make much of a difference. I'd fancy you just as much to win a game away to, for example, West Brom, as I would if you were at home. the thing is though, our away record is a shambles, as is our record against shite teams (as is our record against average and good teams but you get my drift). we lost away to derby county last year, which was a disgrace. cant seem to beat wigan, blackburn, bolton either. lost to charlton away when they went down, the list goes on. still fancy us to stay up.
  7. charlton won 3 points in last 8 games, and so they apoint their caretaker manager (phil parkinson) as manager oh well, theyll be playing league 1 football next season then!
  8. "Stevie When you get out try this website www.newrectums.com" 62. frank lampard - 2008-12-31 14:50:23 whose laughing now you fat fuck? Your bitch is gona feel old fat franks ’cushion for the pushin’! Then me and JT will come on a foot each  55. Alex Curran - 2008-12-31 14:34:06 Hi Stevie, I know this isn’t really the best place to do this but i cant get through to your mobile. Jermaine Jenas and Ashley Cole keep answering it whilst heavy breathing and moaning?? Anyway, with your inevitable custodial sentance pending, I think it is best that we split. I can’t wait for you and I’m afraid I have been sleeping with Duncan Ferguson..he really knows how to smash me up like a real man. Oh and the baby’s not yours hun....It’s Curtis Warren’s. Sorry darling x x
  9. lucky win, but im not going to hold it against villa, as they very graciously gave us 3 points earlier in the season. hopefully all their good luck will be cancelled out in a thrashing away to gillingham.
  10. Is that in the right thread? people were slagging NUFC fans from long distances, saying why dont they support local teams etc a minute ago
  11. im still thinking man u will win the league. they are too good at winning, the bastards
  12. It would finish 8-1 though id probably be happy with that, seeing as the first finished 1-5
  13. hopefully the FA will make liverpool replay this fixture as a punishment to gerrard.
  14. what i do is i support newcastle, but i have been to all the other local teams and cheer them on (but not when playing us) and make a conscious effort regarding their results. yesterday i went to see Gillingham v Wycombe, and ive been to see fulham a few times not playing us, watford, millwall and palace. seeing charlton next week. then i see one game at SJP per season and all the london away games if possible.
  15. because he hadnt committed the crime then
  16. man united- think quality will prevail and they win the league pool - not much seperating 2 and 3 but liverpool wont keep it up i dont think to win. chelsea drop too many points at home, and chelsea - wont keep winning away from home that and scolaris first season. maybe next year if they dont fire him. villa- quite a few points ahead of arsenal i think. arsenal- marginally ahead of everton. everton- home record will improve and they finish the season strongly. wigan- very impressed with these 2 managers, particularly hodgson as fulham are generally quite entertaining. both have a fulham - very strong defence and fulham will start to score away from home. man city- too good to be in the position they are in. will spend big in january. spurs- ditto. newcastle- we'll get a few modest buys in january and will finish mid table again. bolton- starting to play better football and still seem quite resiliant. hull city- bubble has burst, but their earlier points will keep them up, and they will still pick up points to stay up with room to spare. west ham- cant see them going down, even if their manager is unproven. middlesbrough- will be close, maybe downing will leave. some teams will be worse. blackburn- big sam will keep them up in dull style, for them to become one of the most hated teams. not much in it. west brom- theres always a team staying up on goal difference on the last day, à la fulham and west ham. have a good manager. stoke - no goal scorers, can see them drawing at home, losing narrowly away. will be happy to see shot of them. portsmouth - seem to be in freefall and James not playing well. defoe or crouch might leave. not looking good. no faith in adams. s'land - no faith in sbragia, not that good a squad. maybe 20th is a bit harsh on them but i dont think theyll be marooned like derby or watford. i really do like that this seems to be a really competitive season, realistically anyone from 7th to 20th could stay up or go down. what do you all think?
  17. well, we can safely say that all those robberies of players homes in Liverpool have now been solved. it was gerrard all along!
  18. if the club cant sell the smaller allocation, they arent going to expand it. economic climate, and the pantomime that has been this season have led to less people wanting to go to places like fulham and west ham. id like to see 6000 geordies making a racket at fulham but unfortunately not going to happen at the moment
  19. to those saying shearer, i think it would be mad appointing a manager with no mangerial experience whatsoever. it is essentially just because he was a great player and a geordie legend. if viduka retired this season and got appointed as manager, what would people do then?
  20. 5th? cant see that happening mate. villa, arsenal and everton i think are dead certs to finish above us
