  4. So that would be Allardyce then, id love it if they got allardyce! hed be begging to come back to SJP the amount theyd boo him when he loses away to wigan for them. not sure i agree, i reckon they might have fired him anyway. but wouldve been slaughtered by the press and the morons unlike us who think its grants fault that terry missed his pen. i mean for christs sake, got to the CL final (which mourinho couldnt do), level of points on the last day of the PL, carling cup final, and hes only lost 5 games!! then they fire him???!
  5. i hope its someone shite so as they never win anything again ever

    Arda Turan?

While this is true, it completely ignores the fact that we probably offered more money to get them here in the first place, which doesn't seem to be on the agenda anymore. I think, amidst all the unmitigated s**** in here, that's a key issue that people are on about. I think apart from the money, at the time you beat us to Emre & Parker sure we'd finished 4th but it was a real bolt from the blue. Nobody had anticipated it and Newcastle would be seen as a safer bet for a player. It's fair to say that the tables have turned on that score now. Anyway, still unsure about all this Turan bid business. Turkish media is hardly a brilliant source and none of our papers have picked it up yet. the thing is, it was a complete suprise when we signed enrique. it was just on the website and we were like wow ok!
  8. i hope they dont keep going on about that all the way through though! on motd on the last day of the premiership it was "and reading will be gutted because of all the money they are losing" etc. and even shearer and hansen said something like "and the thought of all that money" when referring to this game- they didnt stop going on!!
  9. what more than west brom who have premiership quality? and id even say bristol with their manager as well.
  10. apparently anelka has his own brand of vodka...... he bottles it in russia!
  11. cheers. as i say, im not trying to open up a can of worms here or anything like that. i really believe there isnt a local team at all for me in the football league, id probably support fulham if if didnt like newcastle but thats a good 2 hrs 30 away! my point is, the neaest team is millwall. my mate goes there but hes hardly your stereotype south london type, i still respect him though. tell you what pisses me off the most though: down here, no local team so absolutely everyone apart from a select few supports 1 of the big 4 and takes great pleasure in ripping out of anyone they regard as shite (so anyone except the top 6). well you shouldve seen his face when we were crucifying him when chelsea lost yesterday! an absolute picture! talking of which have a look at this hilarious SSN interview with a chelsea fan http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fEyFKbG13z0 count the yeahs!!!
  12. Personally I'd prefer it to be a thread for attacking anyone who doesn't support a club where they don't have some sort of affiliation to the area where the club is based. I was born and brought up here, but I can understand people supporting any club if it's where their parents are from or if they lived there for a few years or some other equally good reason. But not otherwise. I understand financially why glory-hunters are good for clubs (Even our club, we have some still from the original Keegan days or the Robson days) and are a necessary evil, but I can't take them or their opinions even remotely seriously. well im not from the area, and i support newcastle, why should my opion be any differently viewed? there are no clubs anywhere near me (south london clubs 2 hours away) and so theres no obvious "local team". i come from a place where everyone supports chelsea or man united. one of my mates is a millwall season tickt holder, and i respect his views on football, but hes not from the area of millwall. i think the main thing is the sentiments rather than the team, i chose to support newcastle because i really liked the team, and the feel of the fans and the team. and i started supporting us in the latter days of souness. since then ive never looked back, been to all the games i phaesibly could- watched the rest online. i know what it feels like to be a newcastle supporter, admitedly, some of the bona fide geordies probably know better, but im there as well. i think the difference if i never knew what thes score was like my chelsea supporting mates, or never been to a match in my life like some, then theres no place for your opinion. like i say, one of my best mates is a sth at millwall, id have just as much respect for his opinion if he supported rochdale or ipswich for all i care.
  13. chelsea aer just the same as man united. i live down south, and there are so many chelsea fans around now. incidently you never see them wearing old chelsea shirts- always the new ones. the kind that think buying the shirt makes you a real fan. wankers and i was with a chelsea "fan" yesterday and we were ripping the piss! and what boils my blood even more is when they have the nerve to say "at least i support my local team". no you dont- chelsea is at least 2 hours from here and charlton, palace, millwall, fulham, brighton, west ham, gillingham are all geographically closer arsenal fan "we are the best team in south london". oh dear

  16. this is the thing. for christs sake, if we arent going to sack him for this, what will we ever sack him for?

    Arda Turan?

turkey v slovakia on at the moment. emre starting (how has he miraculously recovered?? ) and turan on the bench.
  18. Even with the Modric signing they still lack character, I still feel they are a fancy pants team and nothing more. They severely lack physical strength and explosiveness. Till they add a bit of this I think they will continue to struggle. I'm yet to be convinced. I don't think it's fair to say Spurs "continue to struggle". 2 top 5 finishes in the last 3 seasons, 3 consecutive years of European fotball and a trophy this year is not struggling. Bringing Modric Woodgate and Hutton in is building as well to be honest, spurs beat arsenal 5-1 and chelsea in the final, and then tailed off and di practically nothing for the rest of the season. that shows to me 2 things- 1) they have a pretty shit mentality if they think "well we cant finish in europe so well not bother 2)with the teams theyve beaten and the way they play, plus some new signings, they wil be very good next season. hopefuly well still thrash them home and away though!!!
  19. bit harsh considering its actually related to the thread
  20. everton were robbed of 3 points at goodison by the ref (but everyone gets bad decisions) and i reckon have the quality if they strengthen their squad a bit, although it does seem spurs are more likely. although, their defence is an absolute joke and it remains to be seen what they do about that
  21. seems the big four are becoming stronger and stronger, and its harder to catch them. does anyone think itll be cracked next season? and if so who by? i reckon if anyones going to do it itll be everton 4th and liverpool 5th. however, spurs are getting better as well and lost out on the last day a couple of seasons ago. could be quite entertaining because liverpool and chelsea are evidently suffering backroom fiascos, with (if you believe the tabloids) avram grant under pressure and drogba wanting to leave, and the greedy yanks and rafa situation at anfield. i next season reckon itll be man united, arsenal, chelsea, liverpool, everton, spurs, villa, newcastle.
  22. Aye, I can feel it. Except we'll get Chelsea, not Cardiff. You know we'd get a run like arsenal, man u, liverpool, chelsea and even if we came through that lot we'd end up drawing barcelona somehow in some new rule made up of not allowing us to ever win anything. we have been unlucky, but it doesnt help that when we do get drawn against lower league teams we get thrashed- eg birmingham and we were almost beaten at stoke.
  23. yeah i agree. play up pompey is f***ing annoying!! i dont like pompey completely irrationally, and i think that may be it! that and that annoying bell ringer at fratton park which you always hear on motd
  24. I apologise sincerely for my grammatical errors, i hope time will heal these emotional wounds. i seriously cannot actually work out why anyone would nominate steven taylor as player of the season!!
