The fact he played for Man U is all they've got to hang on to, anyone who played for them is a demi God let's face it (to the Press I mean) . He can do no wrong. Let's build him up - lie, cheat, anything to get rid.

This makes a pleasant change:- http://www.the-wanderer.co.uk/bolton/Sunderland_Fans__A_Tribute-719

Watches Spurs? What the Spurs he's going to buy once he's sold us? (According to Rob Shepherd on the radio yesterday). If it wasn't so tragic it would be funny.
-
Owen to Man City

If the NOTW and Rob Shepherd had any credibility left it's all disappeared by now surely. The fact Shepherd was talking on the radio saying how well he'd researched this piece of shite just lets us all know what these newspapers are really like. (He's no relation to FFS is he?) Now they'll pin all the blame on Ashley saying he moved too slowly on the deal or something. They really hate him eh, and the fact he couldn't give a flying f*** infuriates them even more. Expect another selling story in around 4 weeks time - that's the pattern. In the Times this time.
-
And we're supposed to believe that from the NOTW? Anyone ask him about his opinion of Joey Barton/Jail/People getting a second chance? MA buying Spurs? He's definitely been drinking all day.
-
I don't know why people are falling for this? This is the sixth time a Murdoch owned newspaper (Times, Sun, NOTW) has broken an "Ashley selling" story, starting one month after he bought the club. Only 4 weeks ago he said he had no intention of selling. I've got no idea why they have it in for Ashley, I can only guess it's because he won't lick arse. Such revered journalists as Custis in the past , and now jailbird Shepherd have broken this story, when did Custis or Shepherd ever get a story right? Where are the reports today of us buying Coloccini? I see none in the papers, is that not just a little bit strange? But it doesn't fit in with the "Ashley won't splash the cash" image. It just worries me that so many people are so gullible (not on here obviously).

It's just the monthly Murdoch story isn't it? It was the Sun last month, NOTW this month. Let's put a bet on the Times for beginning of September?

I don't see anything on Eurosport Could be bollocks then, I dunno. http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://m.eurosport.fr/football/bassong-vers-newcastle_sto1650029/m-story.shtml&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=5&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dbassong%2Bnewcastle%2Bmedical%26hl%3Den%26lr%3Dlang_fr%26safe%3Doff%26rlz%3D1T4GZAZ_en-GBGB253GB253%26as_qdr%3Dall

In the end, like it or not, it comes down to money. We have to be pragmatic. We paid money for him, we can't reduce his wages or sack him because other clubs would pay him the same as we do and we'd lose whatever we paid for him if we sacked him. We've just got to get on with it. It's no good being judgemental about him, or self righteous or any of those things, it won't make any difference. Keegan and Ashley are being straightforward, they're saying we can't sack him so we have to back him. Take it or leave it.
-
I know this is wheyse keyse Louise but it sounds like it could be true, summed up, if we don't pay him 65k a week three other teams in the Premiership are prepared to, and we lose what we paid for him in the meantime. No wonder he's being welcomed back, no businessman is going to lose 5mill or whatever SA paid for him. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/jul/29/newcastleunited?gusrc=rss&feed=football

Oxymoron surely.

The "shiteam" twat's a wum, ignore him FFS.

Agreed, most jobs come with a permanent contract, does that mean you should work until retiring for the same company? I think a lot of people are missing the point here, all he needs to do is to ask to be transferred, but he's obviously hanging on for a bonus. And he should have kept quiet and not bleated to the papers about Martin O'Neill. Equating our ordinary jobs to a footballer's contract just doesn't work for me. It's not the same thing.

For us? Easily. Still wish that shot v Liverpool went in. or the one against Chelsea.. that one stunned them proper His best is obviously the 90mph shot against Spurs under Roeder, but the dummy was nice, as was the one in he scored at St. James' in the UEFA cup (againts Levadia Tallin? left foot from the edge of the box). what dummy ? he mis controls it and this commits tainio and he then knocks it past him...there is no dummy Aye I remember Andy Gray showing a slow mo of this as if to show what a crap footballer Martins really is. His attitude was "oh well they won 1-4 over the mighty and fabulous Spurs who should be in the top 4 every year but that Martins just got lucky with this one" Twat.

Oh dear does that mean Sam Allardyce doesn't have a job like he thought he would? Shame!
-
How many assists did he have last season compared to Geremi?
-
Its from AS. Alan Shearer?

Anyone believe the one about Duff to West Ham and Ferdinand to here? Seems to be doing the rounds darn sarf.

Ẁhy is everyone going on as if this is NEW news? It was said weeks ago that they were going to ask him to lop 30,000 a week off his salary. He'll be offered huge bonuses if we ever win anything (I won't hold my breath then). The Daily Mail has just revived the story because Jimenez etc must be meeting next week with "his people". I think he'll sign, after all as others have said no other club is going to offer him 80,000 a week, never mind a ridiculous 110,000. If I could be arsed I'd look for the previous thread that discussed all this, I'm sure there is one.

I can't see Wenger being remotely interested in him. If Spurs were interested in him they would have been knocking on his door by now surely.
