  1. He's been poor. He's been shite, the way they wank over him is unbelievable. But they always do. I find Motson and Lawrenson so embarassing I'm going to have to turn the mute on. It's cringemaking man.
  2. Yes but then we had a load of players coming through - times have changed, kids don't even play on the street anymore.
  3. Yes bad times for us all, not only Arsene Wenger, Arsenal play fantastic football and if you like flowing football you should like to watch Arsenal, but imagine Arsenal with a team full of Sholas and Brambles, not to mention Alan Smith! Fantastic. If this is true and it's coming in within the next couple of years then we are going to be watching crap Allardyce type players until they sort out the coaching in this country.
  4. Crap idea, so we all have to lower standards and we'll have players like Shola and Ramage (yes thank the Lord he's away) guaranteed a place while players like Oba sit on the bench? And we'll have to keep players like Chopra in case the quota is out of balance. It stinks.
  5. There's a lot of bollocks talked by Rangers and Celtic fans (never Newcastle fans like ) but a Rangers fan told me the (now cancelled) friendly was part of the Cuellar deal. I'm still undecided about him, he plays in a 9 man defence so he's bound to look not bad, but he looked dodgy on Saturday.
  6. They have a plan to move St James Park brick by brick to some part of London. I'm amazed people haven't heard anyting about it.
  7. "he's been going out of the way to make the system fail by being awkward just so he can get his way and sign older experienced players." I'm not trying to be a smartarse or anything but he hasn't signed anyone yet has he? I thought he had a list and Wise had a list and they agreed the joint list weeks ago? So that statement above doesn't really make sense to me at all.

    Martins

This is Custis remember, according to him in the last year:- Martins to Man U Ashley selling the club Owen to Man U Defoe and SWP to us Ashley selling the club Keegan had to GROVEL to Ashley (as if Keegan would GROVEL to anyone) I just wish I could be a journo, sit and write up shite stories and get paid for it, and have rides on helicopters with my wonderful and clever friends. He has never been a Newcastle fan and is lying if he is saying that, he's obsessed with Man U and is a glory hunting twat of the first order.

    Martins

I'm sure last season Custis had Martins flogged to Man U. Once he finds out Beye was player of the season he'll be flogging him to Chelsea. Scum of the Sun, what else would you expect really.

    Arda Turan?

This thread is going around in big circles, the same thing gets repeated every 3 pages or so. Give up already! Just read through the thread!
  11. I read somewhere he was paid by the hour. Wonder if that includes the hours in Blu Bambu?
  12. But are you saying Man U haven't bought their way to success? I'm sceptical about those figures. Over the last 10 years would be interesting, after all Chelsea had to catch Man U up in the spending stakes. I'm not pro Chelsea like, just puzzled as to why everyone thinks Man U have barely spent anything. The key is that Ferguson has an acute eye for a player (apart from 28 mill for Veron of course) and gets them playing together as a team. Having said all that Chelsea were one kick away from winning it, and if Drogba's shot would have gone in instead of hitting the post it would have been the goal of the year by a mile.
  13. So Man U bought their squad for pennies? Surely their squad cost as much as Chelsea's? Rooney 26 mill, Ferdinand 18 mill, Carrick 18 mill? Why does this myth still do the rounds that Chelsea have spent a fortune (which they have) and Man U haven't?
  14. What do you think Ferguson was saying to him as they came on the field? "I'll break your fucking legs if you don't give us every decision going" or "Gizza penalty in the second half of extra time and the world is yours" Allegedly.
  15. Won't the club have a plan? Like scenario 1 - if he gets put away we do/say this and scenario 2 if he doesn't we do/say this? I can't believe anyone thought he would escape the clink - he's got too much previous and they want to make an example of him.

    Todays Rumours....

What - you'll beat us for the first time in years or you'll break the top 4? Or both?

    Todays Rumours....

They're building a serious challenge by being linked with loads of players in the News of the World? Ermm, Woodgate, Modric..? Woodgate was in January and we offered just as much for Modric. Seems so far we've both been willing to spend the same cash, we're hardly just talking about it are we.. I would say there is a substantial difference between trying to get players and actually having them sign a contract. I think it´s fair to assume both Woodgate and Modric would have been first choice reinforcements seeing as we went in for them early, but we lost out to direct competition in both cases. If that makes you comfortable about achieving our goals than good for you, but it certainly doesn´t appease me (and yes, I know it´s early days, but I don´t see how that prevents me from concluding that Spurs are going after their business better than we are at the moment). Edit I also fail to see the logic in excluding Woodgate from planning for next season. He will be there next season, won´t he, or did they only sign him for the second half of this season? Some would argue that it was excellent timing for that transfer as the competition would have probably been far greater in the summer if Woodgate had continues playing the way he had in the first part of the season. Was he playing when we beat them 4-1? Yeh thought so. Don't get pulled in by the hype we have to endure every single year. It goes like this - journalists are asked "who will break into the top 4?" Every single one of them says Spurs, and they've never been right and they still won't be. No matter who they buy - as long as Jenas is there the bad vibes will be too. It's Karma man. We've got more to be worried about from the likes of Villa and Everton.
  18. Is this some kind of sick joke? look, i saw the first 60 minutes and the goals in highlights. zenit look to be a good team which may be why he didnt stand out and while if thought the first goal was a good pass i dont see where else people are getting this omg arshavin is amazing stuff. he looked like a decent player but hardly exceptional. does someone want to tell me where i am being blind or that he went amazing after i stopped watching because i havent yet seen what others have. I've got a labrador going spare if you need one.
  19. What I want to know is - who is going to the papers with all this crap? The quotes would suggest a player to me, whoever it is needs to be run out of the club, we can do without all this.
  20. Well that seems to be the thing the papers are conveniently forgetting. Ashley wants to cut his wages but where else can he go and get over £100,000 a week if he takes the huff (if they're right - which they probably aren't)? The top 4 don't want him and ramos won't want him either. Everton definitely won't pay huge salaries, so who's left? West Ham? Villa?
  21. Please God let this be true http://www.sunderlandecho.com/nufc/Boro-want-United-midfielder.4077412.jp
  22. Jheez man - don't tempt fate!
  23. You see much as I hate him, Ferguson's main strength has always been that he knows when to get rid of the shite just as they're turning to shite. He held on to Alan Smith just that bit longer cos he was injured.
