I met him last year, he was totally sound. We just chatted about having daughters and what a hassle their boyfriends can be.

Set Pieces (Free Kicks, Long Throws, Corners)

Is there a chart for how many goals a team concedes as a result of its own set piece creating a chance for the opposition ? -

Suds for me like. Gets paid to sit round all day wanking himself daft over meaningless predictive stats. We'll probably breach PSR cos of how much money he's wasting on Kleenex and baby oil. I despise him and everything he stands for.

This forum ? Yes, definitely. Like a cross between a comedy club, a lunatic asylum and a group meeting of Pessimists Anonymous. -
I know that. Why does it mean you now suspect he was having meetings about his career when he was in London for the birth of his son ?

We've made 2 x signings in our history that were over £60m. Isak at £66m and Woltemade at £65m. How many do you think Man Utd have made that were over £60m in their history ?

West Ham also aren't playing CL games midweek and on a deep league cup run. It's comparing apples with oranges if you just look at our league position in isolation and disregard the other games we have to play. Yes, we're closer to West Ham than Villa in the league but the mitigating circumstances for that situation are obvious. If you were plotting an ideal course of experience for Eddie and the squad, we would have had a few seasons in the Europa to get used to the demands of a European campaign but against easier opposition, then step up to CL with that valuable experience under our belts.
-
Can you put transfer fee and wages next to every player please. And also the sale price, if they're been sold on. And also show us a list of the players in your squad in Oct 2021 and also the players in our squad in Oct 2021. Include what they were signed for and what they were earning in wages. Thanks in advance.

We're in the semi of a cup as defending champions, we should progress to the knock out phases of the CL and are in the 4th round of the other cup. So based on our cup run you could argue we're closer to Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City than West Ham. We can't compete effectively on all 4 fronts: CL, League, League Cup and FA cup. And neither can Villa. They're riding high in the league, the Europa is a doddle for any half-decent PL team, they're out of the league cup and hopefully out of the FA Cup soon. Villa have had 1 x run at the CL, we've had 2. So we're ahead of them on that metric but we both seem to be following the same path of only being able to make the CL every couple of seasons.
-
But they didn't secure B2B CL finishes. So it's a moot point. It was an attempt that failed. And while they were attempting and failing to secure B2B CL finishes, we were winning a trophy and securing our CL spot.
-
Until there comes a day when the snidey PSR rules are changed to allow clubs to compete by receiving external investment beyond the levels of their historical income, then I think we really only need to be measuring our progress versus Villa. Are we at least on a similar trajectory to Villa should be the comparison. And if we're not, questions should be asked of the manager. It's futile comparing ourselves to the cartel clubs, because they're playing with a loaded deck. We're not allowed to spend enough money to be able build a squad who are capable of competing on 4 fronts. Being in Europe ruins our league form. That's the reality we're up against. PSR is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Mental energy I agree 100% and I don’t think that’s spoken about enough. As an example look at how utterly shite Trips went after he got busted for his extra-marital rattling. His head was popped and his performances dropped off a cliff. But the physical energy is a mixed bag. To be solid at the back defensive players don’t necessarily need to expend loads of energy. We could have adapted our approach to remain solid at the back but also introduced less intensity for the forwards, instead we’re still flogging the forwards to exhaustion and we’re weak as piss at the back. We’ve got the worst of both worlds.
-
Being solid at the back has very little to do with energy. It’s about discipline, tactics, teamwork and consistency.
-
Available and up for it. To upgrade Eddie we need someone who has had proven success of managing across 4 x fronts and winning things consistently. How many managers have that and if they do, why are they coming here rather than a cartel club or a prestigious European side.
-
I love Eddie, but I also think there’s logic in this view. Based on where we aspire to be, he’s unproven. His ceiling may well be competing on 1 or 2 fronts and polishing average players to make them good. Problem is, how do we know when he’s definitely reached his ceiling, or if he’s just having a wobble on an otherwise upward trajectory. At some point a decision needs to be made on how far he can take us and does his capability match the ambition. Tricky to know when to stick or twist.
-
We either need to be stealing emerging talent from under the noses of the mid to lower table teams in the same way the cartel clubs do to us. Or we need to wait until the cartel clubs have filled their shopping baskets and then go after the high ticket items that they didn’t buy, knowing that we’re unlikely to get gazumped. Both options carry risk, but it’s better than pissing about trying to pull worldies just for them to end up fobbing us off so they can sleep with Studley Goodfuck.

I’d bet my bile duct that Tonali got done quickly because Milan knew he was staring down the barrel of a long ban.
