I live about four miles away from the airport, but we aren't on the flightpath, so we never get planes directly overhead. In the middle of the night I was woken up by a very LOUD plane flying directly overhead, never heard anything like that here before. So I immediately thought (still 95% asleep) "that's them, the Saudis, flying in from a different direction from normal planes" and then I went straight back to sleep. It may all have been a dream of course, but in the morning I felt it was real !!! (how 'wound up' into all this, am I . . .. ) There's only two ways to land a plane at Newcastle. Straight in from Whitley Bay area, straight in from Hexham area. Anything else would end in disaster. Unless the Saudi private planes are like Harrier jump jets. Maybe you heard the Northumbria Police Ghetto Bird tracking some villains ?

Not really. A Learjet took off from Jeddah not long ago but it hasn't got the range to reach the UK. A GL5T took off from Biggin Hill heading south not long ago (over france now), kind of keeping an eye on where that's going. There's not a single plane in the sky anywhere north of Leeds and south of Edinburgh. Just clouds, birds, insects and leaves for hundreds of miles.

Suggesting that the investigation is on going and that we'll find out eventually If a Saudi gadge working for PIF is stood on Barrack Road over the next few days dangling the newly acquired keys to St James' Park in front of a press photographer then I think we could safely assume the mystery was solved

Why would they need to come to Newcastle in your scenario ? I'm with you in that I think its happening but I dont get why anyone would need to physically come here ? Two reasons: 1. Physical collection of property. I’d imagine there is an emotional attachment and won’t feel real or like they can get properly started unless they establish some physical space for themselves at the club. 2. Ego. As seen in a few documentaries about super rich from that part of the world they like to show off their new toys amongst themselves and this is as big as they come. If you are muslim you would understand. Why would they come to Newcastle on their biggest holiday of the year? Would you go to Saudi on Chirstmas eve. A private jet flew from Jeddah to Riyadh to London to Newcastle, spent 1hr in Newcastle, then flew direct back to Riyadh yesterday. It may be the Muslim equivalent of Xmas eve, but the journey happened, it’s a fact. Who was on board and what they were doing in Newcastle is a mystery at the moment.

And there we go, the private jet is back in Riyadh after her whistle stop visit to Newcastle. Whatever they've been doing it must have been an important or essential journey for a private plane to fly from Saudi to London, then Newcastle, then back to Saudi in less than 24 hrs, during a global pandemic.

Not by much, they are still parallel and are pretty much heading south before banking east to avoid Kosovo etc. Next few minutes will be telling. Had to leave my flightradar screen for a bit, so did GLF5 land on a Greek island and is now heading north again ? Picking up Nikos Dabizas I reckon, wasn't he touted for a job under the new regime Nope, it's still heading South East. Just finished a bit of work I had to get out there, so back on flight radar it is. Fucking bliss Another GLF4 took off from Jeddah a few minutes ago, seems to be going the wrong way though. Mandys helicopter landed at Biggin Hill then a while later LJ45 private jet took off heading south, probably off to pick up Bale. https://www.flightradar24.com/LJ45/248a15aa The interesting one is a C56X which took off from Nice heading for the UK https://www.flightradar24.com/C56X/248a000f That LJ45 is flying in the same sort of path as the GLF4 and 5. That's also on my stare list now. Thank fuck i work with dual monitors, can track all three at once. This calls for an ice cream, just need to peel myself away to go get one. For the last 10 mins I thought GLF4 was headed to Africa, but they're back on track towards the Gulf again now so all is well. At least at the end of today I'll have achieved something and will know how long it takes a Gulfstream 5 to fly from Newcastle to Riyadh. That'll come in useful for small talk at parties.

Still at 41,000ft so no signs of a descent yet, stay calm.

There's a different GLF5 that's heading north from Heraklion towards Athens. Our takeover GLF5 is heading towards Heraklion, hence the confusion.

It's definitely an odd coincidence that a private jet lands in Newcastle, stays for an hour, then flies to Saudi Arabia, whilst at the same time there's noise last night from credible sources that the takeover had shifted positively. I'd guess that a medical repatriation from Newcastle to Saudi Arabia is a pretty rare event.

That's the one that flew in from Stansted this morning. There was a Dassault private jet this morning that took off from Teeside, then circled Scarborough a few times, then went out over the North Sea doing random loops before flying back in. I was fascinated by it. I really need to sort my life out.

It's likely a Medevac aircraft - https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/hz-ms5b Photograph shows the words "Saudi Medevac" on the side of the aircraft. Doesn't mean it couldn't be used for what we'd like, but is more likely a medical flight. I had a look on Flightradar and it came up from Stansted. Any plane coming into land catches my attention at the moment, the skies are so quiet and it's provides a bit of excitement in the endlessly repetitive days
