  1. No one else catch his rant on twitter today about how his life at QPR was over a season ago and he's definitely staying at OM then?
  2. Really an unsung hero in our side. Dude grafts his fucking nuts off.
  3. Was in the car when the winner went in. I was listening on the radio through TuneIn app on my iPhone. My girlfriend was totally dumbfounded when I was celebrating like a mad man. Luckily we were in a parking lot eating lunch.

  5. I have to agree. The fact that this thread hasn't been lit up post-match is a good sign. I think his quality is there to be seen and the fact that we don't talk about him as much as other dudes on the pitch shows his steady hand. He'll come good and be a great defender, I hope he's with us for a long time.
  6. Even if this ends up 2-1 that's still a good result. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up 2-2 though.
  7. Thoroughly enjoyable, for the most part. Entertaining at the very least. Should be 2-1 up though.
  8. Great ball by Simpson. I wish we would play more balls in to space like that.

His finish for QPR tonight was superb, his penalty wasn't. In 2 minds whether I'd take him in the summer given that he rejected us so recently. QPR are down. I've only seen highlights but he looks a player for sure. His goal today was taken very well.
  10. I think the West Ham and QPR matches will make or break us. I'd love to say we'd have it wrapped up by then already, but we probably won't.
  11. Looks like Chelsea and Man City will both be in America this summer as well. Both are playing at Busch Stadium in St Louis on May 23rd.

They have a lot of stuff in place and the backing of the Mayor. The city has already bought about five city blocks downtown for the stadium and have had the blueprints commissioned, there was an article about it today actually: http://www.scoringthird.com/2013/02/inside-orlando-city-stadium.html I think something really big will have to happen for us not to get the next franchise, we've met all of the requirements that MLS has put in front of us and already have the support in place. On a side note, I think 18,000 is a lot of seats, but it's what MLS requires now so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  13. But if you understand the importance of being stable, then surely it's good for us to be stable rather than not? So being stable is something good for NUFC so therefore the fans should feel good about it. There's a difference between being satisified with it, and being 'proud' though. It's not an achievement that we should be proud of. I suppose, although at the same time I am kind of proud of being a well-run club rather than a farce like QPR.

Brek Shea: Warming the bench at Stoke City makes you more valuable than playing in MLS regularly.

Isn't it 9:30? Or is that just the pre-game?

I'd love a Montreal date. My parents will be at the apartment from like mid-June to mid-July. Would be such a great match at Stade Saputo.

By the way, not really sure the thread to throw it in, but there are strong rumors from the NE that Newcastle are doing a US tour this summer. Pretty much only people in this thread would care so I'm putting it in here.

I'm not the biggest fan of statistics in football, but I do see their place. And I think that if you stopped dismissing Miercoles out of hand (which is an embarrassingly common trait on this board) you'd see that he makes a lot of valid points. There are lots of things you see on the pitch that you just know, but they are also "statistics in action" - they aren't mutually exclusive, they are different ways to look at the same thing. And like Mike alludes too (jokingly), the statistical way is going to be the way forward when the kinds of money that are being thrown around increase even more. Owners and Managers are going to want solid evidence (statistics, for better or worse) that someone can play other than just a "feeling." The feeling aspect is gone in a lot of American sports and romanticized about in the same way that it will be in Football 10-20 years from now.
