Chicago get Kalil Anibaba in the second best steal of the draft. Should've gone in the top four but somehow slid down. Supposedly the most MLS-ready defender in the draft.

News Flash: Alexi Lalas is a huge douche.

#8 Michael Nanchoff goes to Vancouver. Midfielder, 10 goals, 9 assists last season (his second season in college). That makes 5 players drafted from Akron University which gives them the most players drafted in the first round in history.

Kofi Sarkodie goes to Houston Dynamo. He's a full back who scored 8 goals and had 6 assists last season (which is 22 matches).

Perry Kitchen and Darlington Nagbe were the two "MLS-ready" players coming out of college. Omar Salgado came out of left field, especially as (I think) he takes up an international roster spot because he's not signed on a Generation Adidas contract. Everyone in Portland wanted Nagbe but it was pretty much a done deal to Vancouver until a few days ago. Getting him was a big coup, but not as big as DC United (who have a horrible defense) being able to get Kitchen who plays DM/CB.

Portland just traded up. Gave up the 22nd pick for the 11th pick (and another international roster spot) from Seattle.

Super Draft is happening right now on ESPN2 (and ESPN360) for anyone in the States. 1st: Omar Salgado to Vancouver 2nd: Darlington Nagbe to Portland 3rd: Perry Kitchen to DC United Chivas USA is on the clock.
  9. Doesn't ITV show commercials during the match or something?
  10. Barton will drop into Tiote's position with Nolan also central and we'll have to live with it.
  11. Thought it was a hard but fair tackle after seeing the replays. Really disappointed that it wasn't overturned.

    Sebastian Larsson

For 1m I don't see this as more than a squad filler really, and you can't complain at that price with that kind of experience and quality.
  13. Now that's just ridiculously true.

    Sebastian Larsson

For 1.5 I'll take this. Will be a very useful squad player/starter. He will add depth in a few places that we lack it.
  15. I dunno, I usually find Arsenal fans to at least know a little about their club, while Man U fans just know the basic stupid stuff that they think will get them through a conversation.
  16. Certainly will have a lot of confidence. And probably a stupid haircut to boot.
  17. You have to forgive him, most people in America are Man U/Chelsea/Arsenal/Barca "fans" - we have to just be glad that he found NUFC at all.

That kid clearly needs one really good ass kicking, level his ginger ass.
  19. Afraid people are going a bit overboard to be honest. Delighted for Leon to get a hat-trick but he was up a non-resistant defense. Just look at his third - if he were up against any other team his bad first touch would've been mopped up before he had time to shoot. His first was a direct result of a keeper with no confidence and also horrible defending from the center-backs. I think it was great that he got a hat-trick but just don't want to get ahead of myself.
  20. Best has to start imho. Would give some minutes to Lovenkrands up front too.
  21. A few positives from tonight: 1) three points 2) best hat trick 3) lovenkrands scores 4) tiote doesn't get a yellow 5) steven taylor is injured
  22. A peach of three points. Only 12 or so more to guaranteed safety. Let's hope we make that 9 a week from Saturday.
