    England

England look like shit as usual. Beckham looks fit as fuck though, he's all over the pitch.
  2. Uhh no they don't. There is actually a huge controversy right now as to whether the Toronto Argonauts will be allowed to move into BMO field (TFC's pitch). But it doesn't look likely. The TFC supporters would lost their marbles if they shared a field. You were likely watching a replay of the TFC vs. NY match from a couple days ago, as it was at Giants Stadium, the stadium that NY shares with it's NFL team, the NY Giants (though they too are moving into a Soccer Specific Stadium next year) OK then it doesn't get around the fact I couldn't see the bloody 'soccer' pitch markings. In my defence, it's the stupid way they show fixures over here, TOR 0 : 2 TOR is actually Toronto AT New York, never understood why they have to do thing the wrong way around !! I agree totally. It's a scar amongst the MLS to have to watch soccer matches played on football pitches - the only thing worse in the league is @ san jose where they play on top of a baseball field you can blatantly see where the pitchers mound sticks up. They've made a rule where any new MLS franchise has to have their own soccer specific stadium so it should help out immensely and a lot of the teams currently playing on shared pitches are working to get their own stadiums but like Steve Nicols said on a call in show the other day there is tons of red tape he had no idea existed to try and get a stadium built. I feel like MLS will start pushing this through with more fervor over the next couple of seasons perhaps even trying to exert pressure on cities themselves.

One of the pre-req's for starting an MLS franchise now is that you have your own soccer specific stadium (this started with TFC) so there's no way BMO Field/MLS/TFC would let a CFL team move in there now.
  4. To me it also is nice to show that MLS doesn't just take any old has-been to play in the league. They are actually trying to build quality sides in the MLS and won't take any ex-EPL player.
  5. If I remember correctly he was about to sign for permanently for Bolton until we came in at the 11th hour and KK had a little chat with him.

    Lookalikes

Always thought this guy looked like Taylor: http://libsyn.com/images/majorleaguesoccertalk/Max_Bretos1_web.JPG Max Bretos, he does announcing for Fox Soccer Channel over here. http://www.4thegame.com/media/00/04/07/steven_taylor.jpg
  7. I'd rather have Turan. More heart and would come here for the right reasons.

    Lookalikes

Not a footballing one but timely with the Olympics: http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i285/cubaricho/dymp.jpg Dan Yemin is the lead singer of Lifetime/Paint it Black for those not in the know.
  9. You think Coloccini has the inside track on Tevez? I fucking hope so.
  10. http://www.argentinesoccer.com/store/itemDetail.cfm?id=425 That's classy as fuck. I'd also suggest trying eBay.
  11. Agreed - I think Enrique just needs some more time.
  12. yes he is. Seconded. I have to agree - Berbatov oozes class. The one move that comes to mind is when he was outside of the box with his back to goal and a defender stuck to him. He popped the ball up and half volleyed it into the box right at Keane was running through to finish it off. His creativity up front and first touch are second to none.
  13. Always thought Faye was miles better than Taylor, will be sad to see him go. Would've loved to see Coloccini/Faye at CB, strong arming the hell out of the likes of Rooney.
  14. Obviously a load of shit but oh man what a day that would be.
  15. I have a funny feeling that the whole thing is wrapped up but they are waiting for the right time to announce it. I think he'll play in the Man U match and be announced <24hrs before the match is played.
  16. If he were currently "fit" would he be allowed to play for us or does he have to wait 'til the personal hearing?
  17. Saw the video of Kev having quite the rip! Must be like riding a bike.
  18. Pretty fucking classy if you ask me.
  19. Guthrie isn't on the midfielder list yet and like matty pointed out neither is Jonas.
  20. Also, Rooney isn't injured, he's just sick so I'd really expect him to play.
  21. Do you even read the other threads? Ashley has stated multiple times that the cash is there but they aren't going to go spending it on everything that moves - only players that want to be here and have the "newcastle heart"
  22. I think that's pretty obvious as I really don't think he would've been at the match and Ashley having a shirt with Coloccini on it if it wasn't a done deal.
  23. Heard a rumor that we're going to unveil three signings at once this week. The names being branded around were Coloccini, Derdiyok, and one "big" surprise. Anyone else hear these rumors? Any mileage?
