Have you read any of his interviews? It's hard for a footballer to be any more grounded than he is. I've got a good feeling about this dude, I think he could really be something and I wish someone in our club would give him a chance.

There's a great player in Martins, you'd be blind if you couldn't see it. If he had a half-decent squad around him he would've done wonderful here (like most of our other players). He is 100% a confidence player (as are most strikers but Martins in particular). He was flying high when he was here playing in European ties, in the top ten, etc, but when the team started to do shitty, so did he. He lost all confidence and never really got it back due to multiple circumstances. I for one will wish him well because I know he'll go to a good team and come good. Thanks for having a bit of flair in a team that had none.

He would totally rock the Championship, but I am not surprised to see him want out. We only offered him a contract until the end of the season, that hardly shows any ambition on our part to want to keep him. Also, there are no quotes from him so it's probably just a bit of fishing by his agent to see if he can get anyone to bite.

Really interesting. You'd think he'd give it a few years and see if he could get called up to the big boys in France.

This is who I'd like to see if this were all to happen.

Everton and Fulham most likely. I've always liked Everton for some unknown reason and I have liked Fulham for many of the reasons stated before in this thread. Obviously Newcastle is my one and only club (I'll never support anyone else), but since here in the States we only really get the Prem on TV, I'll be watching those two with a particular interest during next season. Outside of England/The Prem I always keep up with the Montreal Impact and I do quite like Fiorentina.

Would love it if Viduka stayed. If he were fit he would completely rock the CCC. Partner him with Xisco/Ranger and we'll be golden (at least up-front).

It kind of hit me this evening when I was watching Sky Sports and I felt really detached from what was happening on the screen - because it's not our league any more. Shit.
-
SSN had a bunch of shots from Newcastle and it was very un-mongy. Lots of people that were in just utter disbelief but didn't say anything too rash.
-
I got a few "sorry dude" text messages from my friends, but they are mostly all Man U/Arsenal fans that don't really follow their teams anyway.
-
That's the whole point indi is trying to make. There is no evidence in either direction and that's a big gamble to take when we're clearly "in the shit" and need a serious rebuilding - why not give that job to someone with a proven track record?
-
This is about as clear as it gets. I agree with you 100% on this point and have no clue why everyone is jumping on your back, it's pretty incredulous. Then again, this probably isn't the best time to be talking any sense on this board.

If we had a midfield that could protect them at least a little, that would be an amazing back four.
-
Not a bad idea at all, for a few of our better prospects (ie: Bassong). Let them go on a year's loan to a top-flight side in Europe and give us the chance to get back into the Prem where they want to play anyway. We won't have to pay their wages and we won't lose them in a formal transfer.

That Arsenal/Highbury one has and probably always will be my favorite kit. Obviously I'd never wear it, but I always fucking loved it, especially with the white shorts and maroon socks as well. Total class.
-
This. But I do like the look of that team.
-
Looks pretty decent on the pitch to be fair.
-
Where at? I might be headed over into the I-drive area around Disney - usually lots of British people in the pubs around those parts, there's bound to be a few Newcastle fans to suffer through it with.
-
Would give us some proper, real width.
-
Love this quote: "As an aside hopefully Richardson,Malbranque and "Cissie" have played their last games for us. Absolute tossers of the highest order." Arguably three of their best players and he's slagging them off. Good move.
-
I don't think he would either.

Shearer to rip off his suit, exposing a Newcastle kit on under it and subbing himself on to score the winner.
