True, but he also has the same positional and concentration issues Lascelles has. He’s very adept physically though; maybe under a good defensive coach he’d be worth a punt, not convinced he’d be right for us now.

Everything was pointing to us signing 2 marquee cb’s this month so would be slightly surprised if they didn’t try to throw a Hail Mary bid in for a big name (which I would imagine would be rejected anyway )

1 of Lingard, Ali or Dembele and I think we’re done. Bound to be another big bid for another CB (Inacio or whoever) rejected on the last day too, I reckon.

13 million for an in-form PL defender in one of the best defenses in the league isn’t all that much.

Understandable really , we’ve been more or less at the same level for a while now; they’ve streamlined their operation to work very well on a modest budget while we’ve been a perennial laughing stock. All of a sudden we’re the richest club in the world and looking to leave them in our dust. Must be like seeing your scruffy neighbor win the lottery.
