  1. You’re right with regards to being proven; Abraham is undoubtedly the more proven striker thus far. I was being selective because it’s the only real apples to apples analysis I could find. Abraham in the PL at Chelsea and Toney in the PL at Brentford isn’t a particularly fair comparison imo.
  2. I think it’s fair to say he’s still a very poor and limited player but credit where it’s due, seems a very honest professional, extremely coachable and has been nothing but dependable in Trippier’s absence. Hope he keeps it up.
  3. Not sure there’s much between the 2, personally. Similar goal scoring records in the championship and I think he’s probably slighter better suited to how we play. His price-tag would likely be 20 million or so less than TA as well…
  4. Yup. I’m sure this summer we’ll be looking at an upgraded Josh King type to play behind the main striker; I think he sees Joelinton as that but, despite having everything else, we all know he lacks the goals for that kind of role. Someone like Angel Corea would be perfect, however unrealistic that may be.
  5. Isak passes the eye test in general play but last I checked he was on less goals than Joselu in the Spanish league. For a similar price Abraham looks the more effective / less risky option for the PL.
  6. Trossard is really underrated, really like him.
  7. He’s said some lovely stuff about us since tbf to him.
  8. Loved Merino while he was here but leaving because he was homesick/ not getting game time (due to other players finding form) was a bit shit. I think we have a similar player in Bruno now and I’d probably prefer to supplement BG with someone with more tenacity and athleticism like a Philips or a Sangare etc.
  9. Burnley: Pope, McNeil, Cornet Norwich: Aarons and one or two of their young players Tsolis (quite highly rated before he went there) and Maccalum (not sure how he’s been doing at QPR)?
  10. Philips would be perfect alongside this beautiful man. Not super unrealistic either you’d have thought.
  11. Looks like a George Foreman’s grill.
  12. Think he puts a lot of pressure on himself to be some sort of human highlight reel. Really needs to just play it simple more often.
  13. Hope we don’t sit too deep now. Keep the ball, look for the 2nd without taking too many unnecessary risks please!
  14. Been saying this for a while but he’s honestly one of the most underrated AM’s in world football imo. No surprise West Ham’s form dipped when he was out and improved since he’s been available for selection.
  15. Reckon if Kane goes, they’ll be in for Osimhen. I’d definitely take DCL. We seem to want to play with a target man and he’s the best we could currently attract imo; always impressed with his hops, hangs in the air so well.
  16. This team should have 2 more wins in them, which you’d imagine would be enough.
  17. Conducts himself with class, speaks well and our team finally has a distinct identity. So far I’ve been quite impressed with him; whether or not he’s the guy to push us into the higher echelons is up for debate but he’s moving us in the right direction (recent results notwithstanding).
  18. Keeping compact but we’re looking slightly outclassed here.
  19. Presumably Target/ another LB in that too I hope.
  20. I think another consideration to be taken into account is whether those players could thrive in “modern” playing styles. I imagine a good few former Ballon D’or nominees would struggle under high-energy/ pressing systems.
  21. Most overrated I can think of: Joe Cole, Lukas Podolski, Samir Nasri, Fernando Torres, Mario Balotelli.
  22. Think they paid upwards of 75m for him didn’t they? Fantastic talent but won’t come cheap.
