I am an 'Ultra' you could say, as I post regularly on their site. Sounds amusing admitting your an Ultra though... I was up there, with about 10 other lads. We were singing anything we could think of that was pro-Newcastle United. The Liam O'Brien song, Joe Harvey took a holiday, Some call us Newcastle United, etc. Thought we made a decent enough atmosphere considering the amount of us, as well as those to the left in the block closest to the away fans. My throat was killing after all that "TOON TOON" though. We must have kept it going for about 10minutes. Was good to see so a reasonably passionate, sensible bunch up there.

Has Gazza snuffed it or not? Can someone summarise?

Did you honestly expect a good crowd? Good....No. Better than it was...Yes. Just dissappointed because the one thing that has always been a credit to Newcastle United is it's fans. The one thing people collectively always highlight to be good about our club....and as soon as we have a month of problems, no-one turns up? so untrue. we're a laughing stock among other fans and have been for years. As much of a laughing stock we may be the most credible thing is still our fans. Therefore, if we as fans are a laughing stock how bad is the club? thats quite obvious for all to see. So not being funny...but what was the point in your original post?

I give a flying tbh. I was more dissappointed with the turnout tonight than the performance...

I will reply more fully at a later date. However, I feel nothing but embarassed about tonight.

When fully fit I reckon he does. He is just too stupid and looks so slow. He's a bit like 'Tino used to be, where he doesn't look like he's running fast but he is really. Like I mentioned as well, I don't think he is very intelligent a sa footbalelr, so finds himself in the wrogn positions at the wrong times. He'd do okay in the Championship but not for us. I just think we should all be aiming to stick together at the minute and the players we do have in our squad should be backed, or if not backed people should at least not boo them.

The one I mentioned? "Cockney Mafia OUT"?
-
I was going to put this in the Shola thread but it is mroe of a general little rant about yesterday. Starting with Shola anyways.... It was an absolute disgrace to boo the lad yesterday!! We have a small enough squad as it is, so we need to have everyones confidence up and everyoen pulling in the same direction. To boo someone who isn't even fit, even though they try fairly hard is f***ing w***. People forget we're a Premiership club, and we could be watching for worse football than what we do. Boo someone who gives 50% every game, aye...maybe...but booing someone who isn't fit and usually gives 100% what's the f***ing point man. Yesterday was all about getting behind the team, and to be totally honest no-one gave a f*** about it despite saying they would. Yes the performance didn;t warranty it, but we all knew it wasn't going to be a walkover and we had to give the lads a boost. This mattered even more at 2-0 down and the ground was f***ing dead. Everyone turned to the board immediately. So the anti-Ashley songs got belted out once more? Does that really f***ing matter when we are 2-0 down. No! Trying to get the lads to get some points is what matters. Finally, to top off my little rant...those lads who walked around with that cockney mafia out banenr just after half time? Alright, it got the same message out to what a lot of people were thinking, but to do it straight after half time when we are losing 1-0. Are they f***ing stupid? It just made matters worse that. What would they players think..."ah we are 1-0 down...why are they cheering and applauding?" only to see a banner being applauded by the majority of our support...emphasisng the problems that are occurring off the field. I know the issues in my post are going to come under fire, fairly quickly, by many of you...but I had to say it. Cheers. PS: I don't believe i'm some sort of super-fan either, before that term gets used about me.

Quite. Indeed what makes you think, the people protesting, dont sing when things are going well, i think you will find they do. What makes you think they do? cos ive seen it with my own eyes. There has been plenty of occassions when Newcastle have been doing well and St James' has been like a morgue. Especially in recent years.

As in people sitting at home because they can't be arsed to go to a match against mediocre opposition in the rain when we're not expecting to see decent football because of the current downer and acting like sitting watching Cash in the Attic and putting some shelves up is equivilant to the Million Man March? Wonder how many people would be "Boycotting" if it was a match against the mackems rather than some no-marks. here's 1. i'll not be back in the ground under the present regime. you lot keep on trying to justify your selfish actions. it cuts no meat with any of us. And why would I feel the need to justify myself to you? not to me, unto yourself. you know deep down you are wrong. however you and you along with the others will have to live with it. may GOD redeem your souls. Seriously is this a wind up? Because if not you're just making a fool of yourself now. fool of myself lol what does that make you, when you shuffle back into ya seat for hull then. He'll not be the one looking like a complete spaz if we win something this year though will he. Nor will he if we finish in a considerably better position than last year. It will be you looking the fool.

The tabloids....

I really am getting f***ed off now with these people who assume because you have more of an issue about going to back your team rather than whinge about it's board room that you're some sort of inferior fan who is a disgrace. Find it amazing how all these mad passionate fans come oot shouting and balling when there's something wrong, or something to complain about...but they can't go to sing and shout and ball on a normal match day. f***ing ridiculous.

He has something like 5 goals in 50 caps. It's hard to be under-rated with stats like that. Good team player no doubt. I think he provides something good to the team.....considering he is by far inferior in ability to the likes of Rooney. He basically ran the front line tonight for England, and ran his socks off. He gave his all and did well as a target man, causing a good Croatia a lot of problems. I personally feel he is made a scapegoat and is similar to the likes of Ameobi as far as stick is concerned. He gets a lot more grief than he actually deserves, and does a decent enough job "causing problems" even if he isn't very prolific at all. Oh no doubt I agree that he played well tonight and has often played well in an England shirt. And i agree when the chips are down he is made a scapegoat out of. But when Darius Vassell has scored more goals for England you can hardly call him under-rated as I doubt many strikers have 48 caps and counting with 5 goals. Fair point I guess.....I'm not sure, but just out of curiosity how many has Owen got along side Heskey for England? Do you know?

It is a disgrace that it is shown on Setanta and not normal channels like BBC. Shows how pathetic this country is going as far as football is concerned.

Heskey = Englands Most Under-rated Player
-
The sending off effectively killed the game...and it was never a sending off. However, they should ahve had someone sent off for a second bookable. We played some great football, and I don't care what anyone says, for someone with a limited amount of ability - Heskey does great for England imo.

Thats a great point. A 2500 word essay on this topic, to be handed to me on Saturday please. :-) I'll try....

One question I would like answering...is how come people only feel so passionately about making their voices heard when something bad happens?
