I think they should make the Champions' League what it says on the tin - only Europe's league champs should be entered into your standard cup format as you suggested imo. It just seems stupid to have teams like Arsenal finishing 4th then reaching the final of the so-called cup of champions. Would even out the playing field more financially too.

Great first half performance, Cheslea just too good for us in the second. Smith and Duff were awful tbh, MUST get rid of in the summer. Zog looked great when he came on I thought, really hope there's a place for him in the team next season. Taylor and Martins were great, Barton, Faye, Beye and Butt were solid as always. Not too dissatisfied with the result, we gave them a hell of a good game for 45 minutes and this IS Chelsea we just played tbh.

Barton's got a knock, might not start the second half according to SS. Good performance so far - our passing play at times really is a joy to behold and besides that Ballack opening we've been sturdy at the back as well. I'd say everyone with the perhaps harsh exception of Viduka has been brilliant, just hope we can keep it up.

I think £12 million's not a bad price in today's market, he's English, young and imo a good footballer. A more mobile, pacier version of Viduka would do wonders for our attack.

Worth a punt! It's the same situation as with Modric in my eyes. If a CL clubs goes in for him then we've no chance, but if not then we(and the likes of Spurs) would have a chance. Anthony Vanden Borre would be a good signing - young and versatile right back/centre mid. Can cover for Beye should it be needed and can act as Butt or Geremi's successor with time.

Crouch or Adriano tbh, don't need both. Diarra's not realistic - only signed for Pompey in Jan and unlike with what happened at Arsenal he has no real reason for wanting to leave. Metzelder would be a gamble but if he stays fit would be absolute quality. Diarra whos on the bench at Madrid. Holding midfielder Ahh, thought you meant Lassana The Real Madrid one could be worth a punt, don't think he'd come to the prem though.
