  1. He's got shit for brains but McLaren made use of his pace. Shouldn't sniff the first XI though.
  2. He looks comfortable with the ball at his feet. Nice debut.
  3. I tend to like this formation. I would like a little more spine than Colback at the holding spot though. Maybe Tiote can be revitalized and just play as an anchorman. I'm just praying McLaren will bring more order to our approach. Good defense, transitory and offensive theory can go a long way with this lot. Had these signing been made with Pards or Charver I would have felt they were bought and tossed into a black hole. I actually believe that McLaren can use them.
  4. Maybe Colo is done but in his defense if I had to play with the donkeys that he has this past season I'd have lapses too. Admittedly, I can't stand Cabella. I think he goes to ground too easily. The club needs to establish more of a physical presence in the box and it's not coming from Cabella. Cabella still has value though. I'm sure he'd get a good price from a Ligue 1 club. Reinvest that money.
  5. Krul Janmaat new CB Colo Haidara Tiote De Jong Sissoko new wing Perez New CF Sell Cabella, he's too lightweight Sell Obertan You have Anita, Saylor, Lascelles and Dummet for back 4 cover Anita, Colback and Abeid for CM cover Riviere, Gouffran and Aarons for wide cover Cisse and Riviere for CF cover I think with any type of defensive philosophy, Colo can be adequate or better. We need physical, fast CB to pair with him. Someone along the lines of Douglas a couple of years ago. The new wing should be a more physical guy who can put in a cross or make a diagonal move into the box The new CF should be Austin but only if he really wants to be here. The idea being we should be looking to get more people forward. De Jong to stay back while Sissoko crashes the box. The AMR can cross or enter the box from wide with short square passes. Perez is the silky guy who finds space and receives to shoot or pass. Haidara (or a more experienced WB can overlap). Tiote protects the back and recycles possession through the middle. We have some good pieces but we've not had a cogent system for them to play in. Everyone has just kind of vaguely defended. Defended what, I've not been sure.
  6. McLaren doesn't really move me but the prospect of him and not Carver makes me want to turn cartwheels.
  7. PETscan on Tuesday to see if it's hiding someplace else. Surgery June 8th. Two months of intensive chemo and radiation. Thanks for the well wishes. Hard road and I'm up for it.
  8. I was diagnosed with cancer two Saturdays ago. Jonas is my hero.
  9. Watching Ashley...I didn't see a man happy that his club stayed up...I saw a man who was happy his investment was protected for another season
  10. He's not a bad player but he's been miscast. He's a big, strong physical specimen who has been asked to initiate play when he's better off linking play then coming late into the box. He can use athleticism and brute force to get past defenders but that loses it's effectiveness when he has to do it too often.
  11. Should have dug more boreholes, sooner.
  12. yeah...that's it...he was asking them to a cup of tea...
  13. Turns on the supporters, turns on the players. Fucking chump. He needs a hole to crawl into.
  14. Won the World Series in 86 and should have won more afterwards. Drugs and injuries helped doom them.
  15. I started taking an interest in watching Baseball a year or two ago. I decided last year to pick a team & follow / support them in an armchair, from a distance: I picked the NY Mets. I knew little about them other than they appear to be perennial underachievers whose odds of winning a world series were not short, to say the least. I got talking to an American bloke on holiday a few weeks ago & though his knowledge on English game wasn't great, he argued that I`ve probably inadvertently picked the US baseball version of NUFC. I just don't seem to do winning, in a sporting sense As a Mets, Jets and NUFC fan I can say that they are heartbreakers, all three of them. Chronic underachievers and when you think they are about to break through and build something they rip your heart out, dash it upon some hard and flinty rocks and then stomp on it with spikes. After the stomping, you heart is fricasseed to a smokey crispiness and then casually tossed into the garbage. So, yeah...
  16. Yesterday's win had nothing to do with Carver. Hull were poor and didn't take their chances early. The Hull defenders gave us the ball and then cleared away so we could get a decent shot on goal. I'm shocked that Bruce wasn't fired and escorted off the field before the game was over.
  17. I'll see your RG III and raise you an Aaron Hernandez. No way man. I bet Hernandez's numbers have gone off the charts since he made the switch to the Prison Football League. Hernandez was a tight end when he went to jail. I wonder if he is a wide receiver now...
  18. I'd wait for De Boer after the season if it is realistic that he would come.
  19. Massive win. 3rd choice keeper comes on in the 2nd half. Doltish centerback sent off after a poor tackle and still the club hold on to end Chelsea's 23 game unbeaten streak.
